I obtained 700 on all 3 level 5's last night as bst. CC is absurdly powerful for these things. I remember seing one troll with 9 CC's on him getting tore up.

If your hard up for damage, you can usually take out the wyverns and matons pretty easily. They seem to have low magic and physical defense.

it was weird we had 3 in a row all level 5, first one i was somewhat cautious and tried to do damage of course, 2nd and 3rd same thing although i died on 2nd one i believe. first one i got 700 2nd 400 something 3rd 300 something. maybe i didnt do enough sidewinders =\ or, maybe i whiffed too many sidewinders ><

The points you get in besiged are similar to ballista points.

You get points by doing your job. Ie curing, hitting, nuking, songs etc. Brd and whm in my ls almost always get max points. Just sing a few ballad and elegy and you get easy points. For melee it's not hard either just keep hitting stuff. The only way I can cap on blm is to spam sleepga and shit and that usually gets me killed; nukes just dont do enough dmg.

To echo your point, I have had a tough time getting decent results as blm.
I tried it recently as whm during a triple lvl5 attack and I was shocked by
how little I had to do to get so many points.

No more blm in besieged for me. Its a joke with whm as far effort to reward ratio.

For that one yesterday, all I did was melee the same pudding thing (I eventually died to it a while later when no one was left to tank it - I got a R1 and just as weakness wore the Trolls retreated), did about 4-5 wheeling thrusts for between 250-500 dmg, and cast a handful of Dias to cue HBIII for the ppl in my party (unfortunately they didn't get cured because they were too far away ). ;o I got 700 xp and IS points.

Actually, it's not. Three attacks last night on Carby, idk, lvl 4, 5 and 5 I believe. Think my highest was 484; actively participating in all three. Similarly, most of the melee in my alliance received the 700 max. Only died on the first, since I didn't realize the blm nerf and Fire IV'd a set of bombs >.>;

Regarding the -ga comments. Not sure about other servers or blm's, but before adjustments, I could never cast a -ga spell fast enough to hit any targets before they were destroyed by melee's...

Another note to the melee's too; regarding the "omgz nerf teh brms!!!111!" comments...keep in mind that melee damage is continuous over time, whereas blm damage is maybe once twice during a mob. Quite certain the parses are comparable >.>;

Not sure why people feel the need to bash one job over another...iirc, this game works best when all jobs work together >.<;

I'm THF, and i got 700 yesterday. BLM friend of mine was nuking her heart out and got 315.

I did this too and got full points, only downside, my RDM is capped, so instead i'll come as BLM to get his buffer up.

While I do agree that they should fix this.....welcome to the life of melee jobs.

QFT...there are many instances where taking a melee is when you are setup to basically lose what you're doing (Too many melee at HNM's, CoP BC's, some BCNM's/KSNM's...) So we melee now have two things over blm's. Jailer of Temperance + Besieged. Oh man, the world is ending...

They should fix it, yes, but I can't say I sympathize much.

On another note, was anyone able to SC+MB and see what that damage was?

Edit: And for the record, I joined the last 2 minutes of the undead wave, got 199. The next two attacks I got 700, as THF.

To whoever asked if I pulled the number 120 BLMs out of my ass, the answer in that particular example is a resounding no. To clarify:

-- The example I gave was a Lv 2 or 3 attack force, less mobs, less HP.

-- No, I shit you not, I [/sea BLM] in Al Zhabi as soon as the retreat and CS ended. The number was 120. Not a single one of them was below 65.

-- Was it like a KS30 with coordinated -aga III? Probably not. Mobs were dead before I could target and engage. But it didn't matter. The point here is that a significant portion of those BLMs were being assholes. Multiple mobs loaded onscreen, and subsequently just dropped to the ground. Followed by chatlog damage reports where words ending in -aga III kept appearing.

-- In last night's Mamool Ja attack, I was about as effective as a goddamned toddler with a toothpick. The job I chose to take to the battle was Warrior. Fresh out of xp, I had all my ACC gear with me, most of it on at the time. I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. When I did hit, I got piss damage, even zerked. "Mel hits the War Wyvern for 20 pts of damage." WTF? NUUUUU! I'm Lv 5 again! I got my ass pounded by every mob I could engage, who were hitting me harder than the xp mobs in Caedarva Mire I just got done with. So we got fucked up too; I don't want to hear any more of that crying horseshit about BLMs doing more damage with staves than with their nukes. That is a crock, and I'm certain those numbers got pulled out of someone's ass.

Someone said you get point bonuses for doing your job. As a WAR, I can only assume my job is asskickery. I can't do that with 120 BLMs dropping -aga III and wiping everything. Do I think nerfing BLM is the way to go? F u c k N o . Personally, I feel a course in How not to be a Greedy Asshole or perhaps My E-Peen Is Not The Most Important Thing In The World is the appropriate solution, and would benefit a large portion of Titan's user base, not just the 120 BLMs who made sure no one else got any more than 100 xp and ISP the other night. Unfortunately, you can't just slap the shit out of someone on the other end of a network, and this pains me so. So, SE had to do something about Besieged mobs wiping out in 2 min to melees and nukes. Someone else made the comment a while back that SE is still tweaking the system. Rock on. Give the BLMs their Tier IVs back. Give me some mobs that don't have fucking Perfect Dodge and Invincible.

In conclusion: SE horked BLMs because some(read: not all, but a significant portion) of you guys have E-Peen issues and did, in fact, ruin a number of Besiegeds for everyone else. It doesn't matter that the attack force was comparable to a swarm of Gustaberg bees, the point here is that those guys should have let some others have some fun, and they didn't, so SE forced them too. It's not the BLM job, its the ones who have little assholes sitting behind the screen that need fixing. If you aren't an asshole BLM, you won't find any of that offensive, because its A) truth, and B) not directed at you.

I honestly dont, Ive gone with no acc gear and had no issues hitting mobs without food, if your that worried about acc, just buy some bream sushi, its cheap

and as far as your blm comments, I witnessed it up close, blms damage is honestly nerfed way too hard, I can understand agas not working, but single target spells should still do something at least, not be stupid

and the reason you saw mobs pop, and then immediatly die is because there were DDs hitting them who didnt load for you, Ive witnessed that first hand. I just voke one, engage, use a job ability, and move on. that method has always given me max or close to max exp and IS
