Oh, and if this hasn't been mentioned already, if you visit the same person you freed from prison, they will give you a ??? gift to appraise. I just got a ??? box from Kahah Hobichai in Al Zahbi.

it mentions using thief's tools on the locked cages. So you can't use skeleton keys or living keys just like the doors in the aquaducts.

You're right, it doesn't mention a thief being able to open them, but it's possible. I tried picking the lock a long time ago when there was no prisoner in the cage and I got the message "There is no reason to open the gate at this time."

Wrong wrong and wrong. You get the same message about Thief's Tools on the regular Iron Gates in Arrapago Reef. Does that mean a Thief can't use Skeleton Key? Please don't respond before testing this for yourself.

For the record, I -have- tested this for myself, and the Iron Gates in Arrapago Reef AND the cages can be opened using a Skeleton Key.

Kinda necro but hey I used search!

Anyone got maps of mamook/halvung/arappago showing prison cells? I have a vague recollection of seeing pods during a mamook merit pt and I remember running by them in arappago but I didn't make any notes while I was doing either.

Siren just lost warp taru. He's not back, an hour later. Fucking apathy.

Asura's been without 5-6 zahbi npcs for a full day now. The only one that seems to get a search party now is warptaru. Not even the AH/dbox npcs are returned promptly.

I believe http://www.ffxi-atlas.com has them. One sec...

Not sure about Mamook, you can check em out, but nothing looks exactly like they may be Prison Cells.

Mamook is by far the easiest place to pick out captured NPCs, with the cage/pots outdoors in very easily accessible places (next to Logging Points).

Each group of pots is guarded by one or two Mamool, and that's it. Some good timing with invis, or a sleep/sleepga will buy you enough time to pop the pot and escape out for another go.

M.Blackscale keys drop from the Mamool outside in the heavily contested XP area in Thickets, so it's generally easy to keep one stored for npc rescuing later on.

On using Thief Tools: It's possible but not recommended. A friend tried using half a stack of THF Tools and failed (got cursed). We later returned with Skeleton Keys and popped open the hatch for the warp Taru first attempt.

I set out last night to free the AH manager. Turns out the guy I freed wasn't the manager, just a stupid Galka. Failure!

Soloed 5 DC/EM trolls as BLM/RDM, key dropped from the last one. So yes, the EMs drop them.

Ok, been kind of on a prisoner saving spree with my THF. So far got the last 3/4 imprisoned in Halvung, but I just can't seem to find the 4th one.

Any help on these, Im kinda lost as to where this last set of cells are.

Theres some cells past the "cant get by solo place" I think. I went exploring there when they first got prisoners. Also the zone you are wondering about, to Mt.Z, there is a door you cant get past blocking that path. I wasn't able to get past it to see where it leads.

Nice, thanks alot, that must be where my prisoner is then. Meh...guess that means certain prisoners I wont be able to recover solo..I guess I can dualbox and get a friend or two. I know most of them are pointless, but its just a fun challenge. You'd be surprised what a little patience and some luck can get you past.

I think you need 4 people to switch a lever at the same time or some crap. Sorry this was a bit ago so I don't remember in full detail. Hopefully someone else that has done this can confirm/deny some of this.

You can get past the levered doors by going through Mt. Z.

The passage behind the Ebony Pudding BLM camp takes you to enrtance #4 on your first map, which is behind the doors.

There are also several sets of sells on your final map, but I don't recall with certainty where the are located.

No, not behind the doors, Im aware of those cells, between the two 4 man doors. It's ok though, I already found a way, will upgrade the map w/ Cell locations and who I found where.

OK, so you meant the 4-man doors on the last map. For everyone else's edification, you can bypass those by taking the G-7 door. Of course, that's assuming you can get past the scorps and the true-sight Trolls, and later on some bombs.

Also, even though the map suggests it, you cannot use the G-8 levered door to get to the cell you've marked at J-9, or the Bronze Door at K-9 that I'm guessing leads to the Astral Plinth. You need to take the G-7 door and go the the large chamber at I-7 with the two fire pits. The prisoner cells are reachable from the east side exit, and the bronze door is through the west side exit.

Ok, complete maps of what I BELIEVE to be every cell. 3 Cell Sections on map 1, 2 Cell sections on map 2. All names are based off of prisoners I have saved. I've saved Allard twice, (omg noone cares about Socks and Hose?) and I forgot who I saved
    in 2-1 Cell section.

    http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/8703/011ep1.jpg

1-1 is accesible either easily through the 2 Four-man doors, or solo through the second map, via dropping off of the "A" or "C" drops. Cell Secion 1-2 is very easy to access through just about every entrance on the first island of Mount Z. 1-3 is the worst of them all, and only accesible if you have 3 other people with you, as it is sealed off by 2 doors, and the only entrance to it is a Mount Z. entrance not accesible at the moment.

    http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/9010/024wn.jpg

2-1 and 2-2 need to be gotten to via the Mount Z. #6 entrance, which involves taking the SP, and walking through the Gates of Halvung, up through there, past Cerberus, into entrance 8, and out exit 5. This will take you to the other island, where you just head SW around into entrance #6. If you're solo you have to then make it past a bunch of truesight trolls, of which patience is a HUGE virtue. Considering this is only doable solo as THF (or if you farmed a key earlier) I'd recommend just RRing through mobs. Granted EXP on my THF is a luxury, so I wouldnt recommend this for anyone who enjoys their buffer. Cell Section 2-2 is gotten to through the G-7 Cast Bronze Gate, up and round and underneath.

Any updates on which NPC is where, would be appreciated. On another note, I've gotten a bunch of ??? Boxes. Contents have included various PUP Misc items, which sold for about 9-10k each, Iron Sheets, and a Hi-Reraiser.

You have Zafif in the wrong spot, I think. When we rescued them it was at a dead end. Chayaya is there too. I didn't have a map till after we rescued them, sorry.
