I'm not going to say I'm any good at melee, but I can hold my own. Tourneyfag buddy of mine took it upon himself to prove Zelda's worth and I have to say in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing, Zelda can melt some faces.

You sure you don't mean speed? I though Zelda's A-moves at least were pretty good, they just take too long to get from button to hitbox, while Shiek gets to a hitbox before the other guy sees the attack's first frame.
Don't get me wrong, Shiek > Zelda. I just think each character brings a lot to the table with a good enough player behind them.
Except Pichu. Fuck Pichu.
I used to think Game and Watch was a joke character too. Then my friend actually spent a couple hours learning how to use him.
Well, I wasn't saying they made Sheik better than Zelda once again, I just mean Sheik seems better than Melee. Zelda also seems better than Melee too, but yeah. I like Sheik mainly for the speed and the fact that you can get an attack off before someone notices. D: Also, you can start off as Sheik now instead of Zelda, and then immediately down+B'ing, lol. That makes it easier for Sheik users now.
You can do the same with the Pokemon Trainer as well... picking the pokemon you wish to start off with at the start. That's great.
Anyway, imo.. they buffed a lot of characters. I know Falco is a clone, but watching people use him... it just seems like he's at least a little different. His smashes don't seem as OP, but he's still quick. I dunno, I'll try both Sheik and Zelda. I'm sure they are fine.
It's unfortunate that there's 3 fox clones, makes me really not want to play Fox cause it'll be somewhat boring XD
All I know, based on the battle vids I've seen, I can't wait to get my hands on Sonic, he seems so much fun to play :D
Marth's final smash is awesome, fast and strait to the point but I imagine getting a person in range is a major drawback and a nice touch on the FE life bar lol
Actually, Zelda has the strongest aerial attack in the game now. o_0 Her heel just fucking owns in this game.
Also, wow, as a Marth player (alternate rather), I am disgusted at how strong his Final Smash is.
If people are uploading music to youtube videos, you can goto http://vixy.net/ and convert the youtube video to just an mp3. The track length will be incorrect on the listing, but it'll play for as long as it should have in the first place.

Holy shit. Samus talks...and is in English. o_o Zero Suit Samus looks pretty sweet, so glad they let us be able to start a match with her.

Maybe, if you see it coming. Any decent player would wait to use a FS at a time where it does the most damage/connects.Originally Posted by Cheerios

That just blows my mind that Zero Suit Samus talks (video on previous page). Samus has never even spoken in any other videogame. She not only talks, but SOUNDS like I've always imagined her sounding like. Very impressed with her combat abilities too. Seriously considering trying to make her one of my mains when I start off in Brawl (with Peach/Pit/Marth), just really fucking awesome.
Agreed, although I always figured her voice was a little bit lighterOriginally Posted by Zetah
She did yell/grunt/scream when she got injured or died in the Prime series (much link Link does in all of his games), so her voice sounds about normalOriginally Posted by Metah
Unless you meant being like Link and never saying anything through voice or text, but she did have lines when I played metroid fusion on the gba, and I think even in Super Metroid in the intro.
how does ZSS change back to normal Samus? is that possible? Through FS?
Final Smash has an aura of energy surrounding her, forcing her Power Suit to come back on. Touching her during this process has massive knockback.
I really don't think lines of text is that big of a deal, but actually hearing her talk is much, much different to me.Originally Posted by Cheerios
lame... looks like I won't be using FS as ZSS.
You kind of have to...with shit like Marth's fucking beast of a Final Smash, Ike's Final Smash, hell, almost any Final Smash can take away a stock, so you can't afford to just "not use it."Originally Posted by Charismatic
Yes you can.
Items off, that's the way I'll be playing against anyone I want to fight seriously anyway.
I've actually considered 2 ways to play matches:
1. Regular matches
2. Regular matches...with Smash Balls being the only item and turned to Very Low (explosive crates/capsules turned off as well).
For a while I might be going with #2 to see if it can bring balance for some characters, at the very least testing it. But, this is practically debunked for me after witnessing Marth's Final Smash today (what the fuck 0% KO bullshit).
In general, the smash community isn't sure whether or not they're going to include the smash ball in tournies. Last I heard, anyway.
