glitching is what ruins a lot of games for casual gamers and any game where there isnt the possibility for glitching in the battles is a lot better in my eyes.

The Peach/Kirby adventure mode with the Zelda music was win. Not the gameplay of the adventure...but the music. Gawd. Loved it.
Pit's adventure looks fun too. He has a great gameplay that I'll enjoy. Speed/Quickness go.
The gameplay video was nice. The person controlling Sonic during his super smash did really well. Definitely better than that Difficulty 3 Sonic we saw before.
Thanks for the post.
Anyone goto the E for All expo? Should have a playable demo there (well we do at work.. so I would imagine it's there as well)

If you want to deal with the annoying chicks, there's some more gameplay.
countering in smash isnt limited to like, an ability where you can stop someone with your counter button or whatever. countering someone is done by understanding your options for defense and their options for attack. a shitload of smash play is fucking with the other guy's head, mindgames, so that you dont get predictable. simply breaking a combo with a simple counter (assuming what your countery system would be a couple timed buttons or whatever) would limit the expression of skill by the players. there exists a basic counter system with shielding, the perfect shield block is our counter. But players manipulate their character's attacks to achieve a more evade/parry/counterATTACK heavy style of play.Originally Posted by BRP
fox's waveshine for example: few people can do this on a whim and exploit its strengths to the point where their finesse with their controller is perfect. even then, they have to put you in a situation where they can use it. its 100% limited to the ground, so they either have to catch you on the ground, close enough to hit you with it (tiny little box around fox [hah rhyme~]), or drag you to the ground (drill kick > shine), or have you at a low enough % that their attacks will stun you long enough for fox to move in a shine. Just because he has it doesnt mean you have to fall for it. Every character has a defined range where they're the weakest, and the deadliest, and you play to avoid on, and attack the other. ever jump up at peach while she's on a platform? you'll learn that deadly range real quick. marth? that terrible sound when he gets you with the tip?
what a counter-heavy system would do is de-emphasize the importance of spacing in smash, because hey, i can fucking counter and stop your attack. No matter how well-thought-out it was, no matter how dumb i am for falling for it, i can counter it because someone thought fox's waveshine was overpowered. If it was overpowered, everyone would do it, and nobody would win a tourney except fox. But hey, waveshine is hard to master, and harder to implement fluidly into your game, especially against more experienced opponents.
im not mad at you BRPim just tired and dont want people messing with my game

Peach final smash.
SAKURAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
WHERE IS FALCON
I'll agree that true counters like the ones in DOA don't really belong in Smash. The game just isn't built around normal move combos in the style of Killer Instinct or Guilty Gear, which is what true counters are designed to combat. Shielding and perfect shielding works fine for the Smash paradigm.
Nirokun's posts always remind me that I'm basically just a baby compared to the real Smash players. It's not a good feeling. Even watching videos of professional GGXX players it always felt like I could at least understand the basic skills it would take to play like that. Wavedashing, pixel-perfect spacing games and memorizing a hundred moves' hitboxes is so far beyond me that it hurts to think about.
screw falcon
wru ganondorf
wow thats really lame
And elegant.
as much as i'd love a crushing final smash (a la in-fucking-deniable dsmash of doom), her's plays well into her style of play. still using your amazing recovery to last forever peach? last forever-forever :D
I listened to a podcast where they had played the game already and someone had used this move. They said it was one of the most effective final smashes out of all of the characters.
Edit: Did not see this last page
so true.no button glitches = total win of game.
It's like the perfectly hilarious peach final smash, wtf you talking aboutOriginally Posted by Rocl

And wow, effective. Unblockable naptime + recovery? Clearly, the Princess is a Presidents of the United States of America fan.
Peach is a winner. D: Her peaches look yummy too.
Wow, that could be misread very badly.
With Peach being my favourite character, this comes as good news indeed. Although if your opponents start munching up your Peaches then...it's DSmash time.

Peach’s dsmash is nerfed, no range. Did not kill in instant death mode. Can do a lot of damage if you CC it still though.

Still does a lot of damage though, but this will hurt her.
