    Kind of interesting?
At least the mutli-player part seems interesting kind of..

Then again, I never was too good at any of these

Nice update. This game isn't going to have many mode that I would want to play that arent included already.

This is not making me seeing the "good idea" that is bringing back such a boring level.
Dunno, those simple stages are the best to concentrate on dodging, countering and strategy since there is nothing around to distract you. It usually make the best and most entertaining 1v1 matches.

Bigger stages are better for 3-4 peoples imo when it doesnt really matter.

The whole point of FD was to give people a way to just fight. Level playing field where the environment doesn't factor into kills at all. I found FD fun to play on, I liked the music too so that helped. Also, FD is the best stage to play if there are just 2 people, 2 people on most other stages = boring. If there is more than 2 people than any other stage is better, but no matter what, Hyrule Temple was an awful fucking stage. If you had a medium/slow character vs a fast one then the fast one can just run in circles for ages (I've had that happen to me a few times, hate playing random people).

Hyrule castle had awesome music, I loved fighting under those 2 tracks. I didnt mind the stage too much even if it was completly unfair. Like you said, fast character could just harass big one, and the "bunker" part made you virtually invisible until you hit 200-300%. It didnt give the best fight, but when you play with friend, it's still a nice change of pace.

The stage I hated the most was Ice Climber's mountain. It's so retarded and not fun. Games&Watch was horrible in a way, but match are so short it doesnt really matter. Old mario stage were shitty too, unless you manage to walk kick yourself out of the hole once every 200 matches.

Ugh yeah, Ice Climber stage sucked, I hated the majority of moving stages actually (rainbow ride, mute(?) city, pokefloats etc) although that's just preference, they aren't all that bad. I loved Onett for the music (both of them) but it was a pretty crappy stage overall).

Ya, making comebacks in that little area under the temple was great. Or thinking you were making a comeback and then getting unlucky and getting smashed straight through a gap and to your death without a chance to even recover lol. It was only fun with friends though, I'd hate to play that with serious players, it'd be boring. No need to have big stages when you are playing seriously, but with friends and items, aw hell ya.

Yeah, you could make some awesome come backs, but it was ultimately cheap in the long run and always pissed me off. The only times I like having on are Pokeballs, cause those are just pure fun, everything else is annoying.

I'm not only speaking of huge levels, I didn't say Battlefield was boring. Final Destination is basically another "unfair" map because it's lack of self-defense from projectiles, especially for slower movers. Oh wait, it's good for Fox, so it's okay. Boring level is boring.

L + Up or Down GO! No character is at a disadvantage on FD, some characters do have an advantage though.

The only ones that have an advantage are the characters that are at a disadvantage when platforms are introduced.

And if you can't avoid/defend against projectiles you need to get better, fast. Because the only ranged attack that is hard to dodge (as in completely avoid) is Fox's B special, which is easy enough to to block by putting up a very light shield and even easier to stop if you attempt to close the gap.

FD is anything but unfair, quite the opposite.

Re: SUPER SMASH BROTHERS BRAWL...Solid Snake! PS3, pssh.

I hate FD, mainly cause it's sooooo boring playing it for the N'th time, or battlefield for that matter, I like all flavoring it up but after your 20th tourny or 100th time with friends playing either stages it just loses it's feel to it. It might be fair to certain people but being able to play any stage with any character, which is more than possible, is really a testament to how good the player is. I've never had an advantage or disadvantage with any of my friends whenever playing any stage as my best chars.

My favorite place though in SSBM was Fountain of Dreams it was simple had good music and was nice on the eyes. But I also like odd stages that were interesting like Rainbow Ride, only moving stage I like ^^;.

No come back is ever going to top the one in Star Fox stage (we had 7 players doing 64 men tournament for fun). I reached the final with Math against Fox, we both had above 150%damages and 1 life remaining. I kicked him really hard on the right side of the screen, then dropped the controller to celebrate. The fucker somehow landed on top of a small airship (I'm not even sure how it stopped him because he was totally off the screen at 300 mph), and before either of us realize what happened, the ship was back on the screen and shot me. Wish I was recording this, had to be the biggest luck I've seen.

Technically, slow mover are at disadvantage in any stage because most blows. Someone like fox would probably own them at "platforming" just because it's a bitch to jump with some of them.

Battlefied was fine, but people just use those platform to run away, and it doesnt make the fight interesting. That's what people want to avoid when they pick FD.

I watched AlphaZealot shit on kids in Orlando with his Bowser and Ganandorf. The wavedash is a beautiful thing. Even slower characters were able to compete in the correct hands. With SSBB they sped up all the slower characters and such but I don't think we'll see slow characters being used as much honestly. I think the meta will shift towards the faster characters like Meta and Sonic.

In what stage were they playing? I'm sure some people can do fine with slower character, but in platform, I've trouble to imagine a big character not lagging behind the faster one.

I've had fun 1 on 1 matches on other small stages too. Mostly windy woods and Yoshi's island.

You can wavedash onto a platform fine lol. Platforms aren't that big of a deal if you know how to deal with them. They are actually useful in alot of situations forcing opponents to consider them and can be useful for mindgames.

The size of the wavedash is relatively useless, it simply leads to be able to quickly move into smashes and out of situations. Being able to wavedash backwards out of a smash and retaliate with a forward smash is a beautiful thing. The wavedash isn't about speed it's about finesse, it allows characters to become much more controllable. Also, speed has nothing to do with the length of a wavedash, Fox's wavedash isn't nearly as long as say Samus' or Luigis and they're both slower, it's due to a characters traction, a value assigned uniquely to each character. (Evidenced by how some characters can wavedash farther or shorter, depending on the direction, on the UFO in the Fourside stage.

    edit: Thanks Charla
