Main: Bahamut's Staff
Ammo: Hedgehog Bomb (AH)
Head: Summoner's Horn
Body: Yinyang Robe
Hands: Summoner's Bracers or Nashira Gages
Legs: Evoker's or Summoner's Spats
Feet: Summoner's Pigaches or Evoker's Pigaches +1
Neck: Fenrir's Torque
Back: Summoner's Cape
Waist: Hierarch Belt (AH)
Rings: Evoker's, Tamas, Vivian, Serket (AH)
Earrings: Magnetic, Loquacious, H/E/G RSE, Death/Phantom (AH)

For the prima-donna SMN gear, you're gonna need mostly Rare/EX stuff.

I'm not sure why you don't main amemet; boxers seems to be a solo/duo only piece, with that breath mantle better for alliance tanking, amemet better for merits. Other major thing that stands out is hauby +1 for meritting. Koga chain is pimp, but hauby+1 is pimper.


Also, get a bomb core, pull with kurayami:ni, and fuck that boomerang shit :O

I checked my MNK gear for the hell of it, and its pretty much 80% rare/ex, or rare/noAH (not gonna list it out unless it matters that much to people).

A huge share of my THF gear is r/e too, for WHM is a much smaller proportion but still quite a few pieces are r/e and a lot of things I'm missing would be r/e replacements (sea cape, yigit, pieces of zenith I'm too cheap to make just for max mp).

It varies a lot between jobs and depends on how much work you've put into maxing out that job, but saying stuff like 95% of the best gear is from AH is just complete BS.

I have to agree about SMN. A pimp SMN is almost all rare/ex, with the exception of a few slots. This is perhaps the reason the job is so cheap end-game...because you spend time camping...not gil at the AH.

For most jobs....it seems to be a balance of rare/ex vs AH items.

I'd always wear a Jaeger over sniper >.> Free > money, and the status effects suck on snipers -10 def? nothx! Only time I'd consider a sniper is if I had enough for +1

Agree on both points I pull with Hojo usually (hell I don't even own an Ungur Boomerang, I use Bomb Core for everything but HNMs and there I use either my Rosenbogen or Fenrir's Stone) and I'm not about to pay 3.5 mil (i think the current asura price) for 1 more accuracy over my jaeger (though I do use sniper in the other slot). At some point after I've maxed out most of my other slots I'll prolly use my friends 100 leather that I have access to and work on getting myself a pair of +1s

I agree.. I got jaeger ring for free, and I'm not spending 1.5m on a sniper when my accuracy is perfectly fine as is. I'm trying to make a signed sniper+1 for myself anyway, but it's about a 1m loss per NQ, and with my tier 1 luck (about 3% HQ :D) it's gonna be a while before I get enough gil to piss away 1m for nothing over and over again.

As for the bomb core: sometimes you're just in a non-ideal pt and you need the bard to sit on his ass and concentrate on more healing. Helps to have the boomerang equipped so you don't keep getting that "Sea Puk is out of range" crap or w/e.

So it's nice to have an Unger along and be a good boy and let your pt keep the xp rolling at some fractional detriment to your parse but a better overall party.

It's been the significant minority of my Puk camps, but it has happened.

And yeah... major <3 for Sniper +1 and Haub +1.

There are some gems with ra/ex gear, but the majority of my BLM gear is bought from the AH. For nin I use 4 pieces of ra/ex (AF2 pants, CoP ring, brutal and Senjuinrikio). BLM uses 4 as well, moldavite, abyssal, sorcerer's sabots and w/e hat I pick (AF1/AF2).

Those are the only AHable items you should have.

AF2 Gloves and Zenith kill Igqira+1, Merciful Cape > Prism Cape, AF2 Boots and Rostrum are theonly thing you should wear for boots.

You kinda contradicted yourself here. You say that merciful > prism but don't bother to list nashira crackows as a feet option. I forgot to list zenith mitts, but they're sorta 50% AH 50% ra/ex. If you want to get technical I guess I could count wizard's gloves as another ra/ex item which I use.

Really, SE needs to create a council within BG forums, and we give the "OK"s and "Hell no"s on their ideas. FFXI will be fixed in 1 month, and be better than WoW in everyway in 2.

Anyway, Sept gets it, but a bunch of you don't. Sellable/Craftable armor NEEDS to exist in this game. It's simply apart of the game. Be upset that a lot of the best rare/ex armor came from a single expansion, not that there is sellable end-game armor.
