Well, one of the items has to be from the July 05 update, I'm sure on that considering all the forced NMs in that update that needed a craft item had at least one item needed from the update to make it.

EDIT: K.. maybe I'm not too sure on that, but WTF is with these recipies for goblin food... who thought of adding a jellyfish to make gob. chocolate?

Doesn't mean anything. You pop the moon rabbit with Sando carrot. Many rafts use old ingredients too. Althought, I dont think its the missing piece of the puzzle.
I think he was more referring to the fact that the Hotrok wasn't around when the Wolfman was introduced, so it wouldn't be used to pop him (assuming he was poppable the same patch he was introduced).

That was a screw up on my part, I thought it said the Hotrok was added in Sep. 05, AFTER the Goblin Wolfman was added. That's why I erased that post.

Well, if he had been right about Hotrok being added after Wolfman, then that's what he'd have been referring to...

    yeah.

There were two other "Goblin" items (that I know about off the top of my head) released with this update, along with the Goblin Drink:

Goblin Stirfry and Leadafry (the HQ version).

I remember way-back-when that Kittycat posted in his LJ that he needed these items for GP at the Cooking Guild, but couldn't find the recipe anywhere. As far as I know, this recipe has yet to be discovered. I personally think the recipes for both the Drink and the Stir-Fry could be connected.

Did some digging concerning the description on the Leadafry awhile back:
"This variety of Goblin stir-fry is named after its inventor, Leadavox."

Leadavox, if anyone remembers, was a character in a recurring article in the Vana'diel Times, called Joseaneaut's Mission. It was a story about an elvaan white mage who befriended Leadavox and went around Vana'diel trying to understand the nature of the beastmen. The story was about halfway through at the time of the Oct. '03 NA release (when they started releasing these articles in English).

I'm not entirely sure if these are connected, but if someone can find out where we can get the Stir-fry, I'd be willing to bet the final clues for the Goblin Drink would be found close by.

According to Somepage the stir fry was added in the '04 update, but I'm sure you're on to something.

It's interesting that somepage has stats listed for eating Goblin Stirfry and Leadafry, despite no one being able to actually make it to test it.

Would definitely help to find out what stats the temp goblin drink affects, it should give some clues towards ingredients.

The moment I found out names I scanned through as much of the AH history as I could under Food, Alchemy, Beastmen and other weird shit and only found Fall's name once. It was under some soup that is used for a quest. The soup was released for ToAU, forget the name atm. Didn't find his or any of the other people's names who are suspected in being in on this massive conspiracy.

Somepage and all the other websites also list sushi as having +15% accuracy. While we do know it's close to that, it's impossible to actually tell an except % on accuracy, no? Unless there's something in the DAT files which has this information.

Anyway, I actually have nothing relavant to add to the discussion, so ignore me until I make a breakthrough of some sort from all your guys' work. ^.^

I'm aware that people had this before ToAU came out, but how about trading a Nashmau Stew to the thing for good measure. a really fucking annoying quest, that rewards you with a stew that gives -10 to everything? Sounds fishy.

Also, I can't think of a single Stew that's used for a quest like one of the above posters said. Try to remember!

Speaking of sushi, does anyone have a link to some sort of good test data regarding the +accuracy cap of various sushi?

    (sorry to derail)

Considering its made entirely of fish, I'm inclined to agree.

I'm sure you can tell a % by knowing your own acc, then using /check on the right mobs and taking off +acc gear and eating sushi and rechecking.

Either way, the fact that there's stats at all on an item that no one has ever eaten is unusual. It's not even an issue of %s or hidden stats, it just boldly states that eating Goblin Stirfry gives you VIT+2 AGI+5 CHR-5, which is easy enough to check if you actually had one to eat. But no one does, so how do they know?

I found that item listed on lots of JP sites, all of them show it as the same. Somepage's description undoubtedly came from those other JP sites, but no clue how they got it.

Well as far as I know Cuer occasionally follows discussions on this board. This is one I'd think he would be following... so maybe he'll jump in and tell how he got this "information" or who told him?

    *Hint Hint @ Cuer*

    Edit: (From Above)

I've been trying to find some type of pattern in the recipies of goblin food and I doubt there is one honestly, more of a dumb luck sort of thing.

Only thing I noticed is all goblin food (excluding HQ) has -5 CHR

Thought exactly the same thing, it seems that it doesn't give any visible stat changes (went in to the hostle noted stats, used it and noted them again). So that would lead one to believe that either the effects are hidden, or the ingredients + and - stats exactly ballance out.
