i already went around and checked this some yesterday. the ??? for Rostrum Pumps says Nothing happens. when you trade to it. The Scrawled Writing says Nothing happens..., 2 extra periods. However, I don't think it really means anything.

On a side note, you do get a message when you trade something to ebon panel iirc. Coincidence? I think not.

rethinking things a bit, I don't think those goblins will drop it. I may still go try, but realizing that in fact Sbow and the like were added that patch, it probably is an older item used to pop it.

edit: although if goblin drink was added that patch, it would still most likely be the pop item, why would a pop item be added and have no use?

Ingram does not know how to make the drink, nor to obtain it. Fall made it or obtained, however it was, and poppeed the wolfman and killed it giving Ingram the gorget. Well, the only thing i can think of is to pay fall for recipe, or pop item, and if he doesnt oblige, at least have someone invis and shadow him in mov before he pops it.

On another note, what about those siren things that always annoy the shit out of me, did anyone by any chance trade while those were uh, going off?

Already talked to Fall a couple times and he denies it all. Ingram wouldn't even tell me his name, I got it from someone else. Does anyone seriously believe he was just asked to zone in and lot on something. Gimme a break... They are both losers imo. Was gonna give them this link, but I haven't seen them on in a bit.

I think it was just "Nothing happens..." and something along the lines of "A chill runs down your spine". I forget if there was any other text involved.

Also, how many Scrawled Writings are up at once in the zone? Only one?

Was answered a couple of time in this thread I think, but if you missed it, scrawled writting pop only at one place at time and most likely change after the NM is popped (or when there is a maintenance).

The "a chill run down your spine" is probably what you get when it pop.

"A chill runs down your spine" is actually a fairly common line after any force pop NM, so that'd rule out any hope if it was the pop phrase.

Was also wondering about other cooking liquids that you aren't supposed to drink, something like apple vinegar. I'd be pretty dang pissed if someone gave me vinegar when I was thirsty.

Still, don't think i've heard anything about the sirens that go off down there.

You can hear the siren in gusgen since release. It's probably there simply because movalpolis is "digging" underground, and they start a siren before dynamiting stuff. I doubt it could be related to the NM.

The sirens you hear in movalpolos mean the ghost NMs in gusgen have popped.

I've tried a few more wonky ideas, I'm thinking I'll just PM them to our resident anthologist... maybe try for a sticky for an Parade Gorget for Dummies Post, that we can just edit with all attempted items... Blood Broth held such promise for me too
Really, Cursed Beverage getting ruled out is a big thing... I really don't think SE would be such pure bastards to create spawn conditions like Moon/Time and not provide a decent hint if we find the proper item but trade it at an improper time. So we return to our hunt for Goblin Drink or some other mundane item. I've searched thru Somepage at all the Non-AHable items in their database and couldn't find anything non-quest related. /sigh

I found it. He's popped with Bretzels. They make him thirsty.

They're probably popped with your Ninurta's Sash. Goblin Wolfman is a way to remove items from the game that were never intended to be received in the first place. Hence any AV drop will pop him. It doesn't actually say "A chill runs down your spine..." either when you pop him, it says "lol noob gimme that shit back"

Does the Selene's Bow NM ??? in Uleguerand Range only pop during the New/Full moon? Cause if so, I would doubt this has to be poped at a certain time.

If the ??? in Uleguerand Range is always up, does it say something odd if you trade a carrot at the wrong time?

Yea, I was very disappointed There's still a small shred of hope, however. If it doesn't pop from trading the drink on a full moon, I'm going to try to drink the Amrita and pop the NM while under the effects of the beverage. It's a longshot, but fuck it it's not like I need that drink for anything else lol.

No matter what the pop item is, I don't think time of day/moon phase/weather has anything to do with it. I was looking over the other NMs added during the same patch as Goblin Wolfman. Any of them that are dependant upon a specific moonphase or time (White/Black Coney and Ziphius specifically), the ??? to pop the NM isn't there when the conditions aren't correct. Since the Scrawled Writing seems to always be up, it leads me to think time/moon/weather have no influence on popping it.

In one of the many other threads on this subject, there was a post suggesting there are a handful of unaccounted for ???s in Oldton in the DATs. I can't find the thread now for the life of me, but it may be a direction to pursue. This would make it pop similar to Shieldtrap (added in same patch) in Riverne A, where the ??? for the pop item appears in several different locations, but only at certain times of day.

A third possibility is the pop item is actually pop items... Mycophile in Carpenter's Landing (added in same patch. Notice a pattern here? lol) is spawned by trading 3 different common items at the same time.

The answer is out there somewhere, maybe right in front of us. Maybe what I posted is obvious, maybe it will spark an idea in someone else.

What jobs have the people who have popped it been? Did they pop as a PLD, DRK, or any other particular job?

Maybe its like BLM AF where you have to have a certain ability active then click on the Scrawled Writing.

Afterall, there's really no reason to have someone wait at a zone to lot an item to keep it secret. If you pop it simply by trading an item, there is absolutely nothing a bystander can see that would give it away while you trade the item. It's not as if the NM or Scrawled Writing, or any text he says upon popping is a secret. The only thing that's a secret is how to pop it.

So try to think of methods of popping that would be visible to bystanders, as well. If they're even telling the truth, that is, that they had to wait at the zone and weren't allowed to see them pop it...
