Strongly considering the Parade Gorget Condensed Version for Dumbasses. These are great ideas people.... for 20 pages ago.
-Drink Moval and trade randomX = I've tried that, no change in message.
-Cast Water, have Water cast on you, Enwater near, on, at the Scrawled Writing = I've tried that.
-Moblin Hotrok = Have one, tried trading with Fingernal Sack, Cup, Gysahl Greens, Distilled/Moval Water, tried using in some basic synths.
-There're insufficient lines of NPC text to support a Fomor style Hate pop method and trade.
Some offense intended, if you want to help, read thru the entire thread and develop your own hypothesis, attempt it, and report it.
Don't offer suggestions that have been tried 20-30 pages ago.
I'd really love for some person to come in and point to some crazily obvious answer that we haven't tried yet.... key being: An Obvious Answer That We Haven't Tried Yet.
Folks, this thread is 50 pages long for a reason, besides the attempted derails and repetition... In 50 pages we've even put in print our wonky, stupid ideas that we've tried with no chance of success and are embarrassed for even printing... an embarrassment that turns to irritiation when people seriously post our retarded ideas a long time later in all earnest good will.
EDIT: I liked the low HP blood aggro idea, I'd just hope that SE would have included a "Right item, wrong timing" message, vice telling us to Nothing Happens... I mean seriously SE, where's the "Gee person requesting a stabbing, you really shouldn't have brought me a stack of Melon fucking Juice. Really. Now how about you fuck off and get me Scotch on the Hotrocks, a Gobirnu Drinku, a High Life, Gin and Juice, Cristobel, Hennessey and a Bud Light, and trade that shit wearing a tutu and Bozo the clown makeup. Make it snappy adventure boy"
Use Ebony Panels and Jailer Weapons!
ok sorry..... I miss AV so much ; ;
I like the water cask and water jug suggestions so far, the water cask because its description says its "brimming with drinking water", and the water jug because its sold by a goblin. But we'll find out if either of them work or not once that guy tries them.
No offense intended..but you realize this item (Parade Gorget) was added in 2005, and the Hostel was just recently added? It's retarded to think using an item from the hostel is the pop item considering several people have had this since 2005.Originally Posted by Jeryhn
And yes, you lose all effects from the temporary items upon leaving the hostel.
Not only have I realized, I've said it like 8 times previously in this thread.Originally Posted by Beave

All the foods you receive in the Hostel are available through synthesis outside fo the Hostel, and have been in the game since before *gasp* ToAU. Goblin Drink was included on somepage when parade gorget was found, but was removed for some unknown reason. While googling for info I found an old thread going back to 2005 talking about goblin drink. No offense intended..but you realize this item (Parade Gorget) was added in 2005, and the Hostel was just recently added? Just because a recipe is unknown does not mean it isn't in the game. Boiled Tuna Head was concidered a 'myth', an item simply in the .dats that we could not make - until dun dun dun someone found the recipe. Anyone who assumes Goblin Drink is any different than Boiled Tuna Head is severly lacking brain cells. Sure, this item could be unsynthable, but to assume so, without trying all possible synths is simply ignorant.
What we know:
1 - Goblin Drink has been spoken of before ToAU
2 - We have a Goblin Wolfman NM who is telling us that he is thirsty, yet we cannot find any items to pop him.
3 - We are unable to find a recipe for the Goblin Drink Synth.
The Wolfman didn't bury himself under the Scrawled Writing, and he was added the same patch (I think) as the baited NMs like the DRK pants beetle.
Maybe try afking overnight with low HP
The only DRK pants I can think of off the top of my head that drop from an NM are Sable Cuisses, and those drop from a Wyvern in Riverne - Site #A01. What NM are you referring to?Originally Posted by Priran

Yeah they're awful lol
The goblin wolfman is spawned by stretching this thread out to 75 pages.

Yeah, not a bad idea if you could trade your bleeding self to the Scrawled Writing then check it in the morning.Originally Posted by divisortheory

I still wonder, though, about some things. Yes, its been covered already that most independant pop NMs come from ???s and not a target with an actual description. But it makes you wonder how that separates it from other pop NMs.
Most pop NMs are just ??? that say, when you click them, "There is a hole here. It is damp inside" (not sure, but someone has it in their sig) or "There are pieces of lettuce strewn about" (habetrot) or "There is a hole here. Something sticky is dripping out of it" (herc beetle), or "There is a rotten mushroom here, it has three holes" (mycophile).
I forget exactly what they each say, but its something like that.
Anyways, all the ???s say something to the effect of there being some hole or place with evidence of some substance in/around it. The Scrawled Writing may say he's thirsty, but it doesn't suggest that people routinely leave water there, like other bait NMs suggest.
We know there can't be some prequalifying CS or quest you had to have done that allows you to pop him, because typically in those situations that have pre-requisites, clicking on the ??? wouldn't even give you a description, it'd just tell you there's nothing interesting there.
If we look at pop NMs that have descriptive targets rather than just ??? (that aren't quest related, and don't conditionally appear during certain time/weather/moon phases), such as the fomor codex, we can see the message we get from clicking it isn't necessarily a specific request for the item we trade it.
Granted, a Fomor Codex which suspiciously drops off tauruses in the same zone seems a rather blatant clue, just as a Goblin Drink might seem rather blatant too for a thirsty wolfman... however, there may be other approaches to this than just simply baiting him with a drink.
Of course, even after all this typing, we're not any closer to figuring it out than before, so... carry on.
That's olla in sky"There is a hole here. It is damp inside"
"There is a hole here. It is damp inside. It looks like you can put something long and cylindrical into it.""There is a hole here. Something sticky is dripping out of it. It looks like something long and cylindrical just came out of it."
did you try Galkan sausage, Kalia?
