On a cooking-related note, I'd been wondering if you could get the Goblin Drink recipe from an npc somewhere, maybe after doing a quest. However, I decided to dig for info on the one known recipe in that set of items, Boiled Tuna Head. Found a Japanese wiki that gave the history of the recipe: it was found through experimentation by a player and later published in a magazine. (If I'm reading it right.) So, he found the recipe through trial and error...

We might be able to assume that Goblin Drink has 7-8 ingredients based on other Goblin foods, and perhaps that it's fire or dark like the others (probably darkness) but that's not a lot of info. Any cooks out there up to the challenge of extreme experimentation? :O

At first this occurred to me, too. But unfortunately you can't desynth food.
(Probably just as well. I imagine that would be pretty gross.)

Did a google search on this Kombucha Tea, and came up with a general recipe of:

Water (Distilled/Mova)
Tea (Windy Tea leaves - recipes said to use 2-3 tea sacks usually)
Sugar (Maple Sugar or maybe honey)
Culture (mushrooms - notice: Coral Fungus is available at Mova water NPCs)
Apple Vinegar (or other vinegars, ciders)
Filtering Cloth/Material (Fingernail sack maybe)

Extra for unique taste:
Flowers
Ginger

It seems like a decent line of thought.

So what he's suggesting is:

Water
Tea Leaves
Maple Sugar OR honey
Some mushroom or coral fungus
Some vinegar
Some cloth (fingernail sack seems extremely likely)

That leaves possibly 1-2 more ingredients if they want to max out the synth.
Also, all tea syntheses use a fire crystal.

Tested Water Cask and Water Jug last night, no luck. Water Cask seemed promising from the description.

Tried desynthing the temp Goblin Drink for kicks, but you cannot use temp items as a synthesis material, so no hints there.

I've been trying to dig up a Fingernail Sack to experiment with some synths. Coral Fungus seems like a good lead. Also, some of the Moval. vendors sell danceshrooms. Obviously, I'll post anything I find out.

On a slightly more productive note, I started experimenting with recipes. I mean, even if my cooking's too low, I'll still get a message from the attempt if the recipe's right. Maybe if *everyone* on here starts trying to cook it, we can figure it out.

Thinking there's probably no meat or meat-based ingredients in a veggie drink (I know, duh, right?) so probably we can eliminate all meat stuff. I like the kombucha tea idea... adding mushrooms to my list.


Oh yeah, regarding the earlier post about Lei buying up fingernail sacks. It's been too long for his name to be in history on any other possible drink ingredient, and he's probably just buying them for that quest or something, but... has anyone seen him around Midgard wearing the gorget? XD; I know he usually has a Fortitude Torque...
