From the look at the end... I think the cure was only enough to temporarily supress the mutations... Those that took it will be healed in the next movie.

If you came into the movie expecting to see a bunch of cameos of different mutants, you MIGHT be satisfied with it.
If you came into it expecting anything that even resembled a good movie, you'll be sorely dissapointed. No character development, a plotline that had so many holes in it and was all over the place, and in the end you felt like nothing had hardly happened. Action scenes which compared to many of the most recent movies, were horrible, (though I will admit Phoenix in the house was kinda intense) and seriously I don't know what people got from this movie that they enjoyed.
I'm definately not hating on it, I came into it expecting something better then the first 2, didn't have my hopes higher then they should have been, and I just kinda stared for 2hours wondering when some sort of substance would be thrown my way. Then the credits rolled.
Well put, Lockecole.
I got the impression that because of his 'mutation status' he was just severly nerfed, and can probably relearn or remaster his mutant ability.Originally Posted by Okan

Actually, it is fairly obvious that Chuck Austen had never picked up an issue of the X-Men in his life. (Peter Milligan as well.) Honestly, I think it was called a second mutation because Austen just did not know that Iceman could already do turn into pure ice. Iceman has lost control of his powers a few times in the past, it really was not a far leap to believe that he just lost control of it again and was always able to revert to human. Emma Frost once said something along the lines of Bobby is one of the most powerful mutants alive, he just cannot deal with it mentally.Originally Posted by whm_mahler
In fact, come to think of it, he was stuck in his ice form for several issues about 5-6 years ago because he had a hole blown in his chest. He thought if he reverted to human that he would die, I think Emma Frost showed him that he could heal himself. (The guy is practically immortal now.)
Its hard to say for sure, but it was def. clear that at least Magneto was going to regain his powers, and he was injected w/ 4 of the darts, dunno if that would've made his cure more potent or not.Originally Posted by Demetrick

Cyclops was being a bitch, he got smacked into a billion pieces. He got what he deserved.
Most likely the "cure" was a ploy developed my Apocalypse to turn mutants into his slaves and horsemen. (I.E. Totally rip off the rest of the "cure" plot from the X-Men cartoon.)Originally Posted by Xavier

Magneto just needed a quadruple dose because of his mutant level, but maybe a 5th would have ended it.
I did like that boy (though I don't really like him as an actor) who has the mutant power to nerf other mutants.
yea too bad he wasnt all green like in the comics
That boy was kinda funny if you know his last movie.
I saw him in "Thank you for Smoking", where his dad was a lobbyist for the tobacco industry. Was just a hint of irony that he looks like a cancer patient in X3.
I didn't know what to make of it honestly. I grew up a comic book geek-o when I was young and akward.
On their own it was great. But if I wanted to see a completely re-hashed storyline then they might as well made up an entirely new supergroup. I wanted a story more or less like the comic plot but meh.
What I wanted more than anything was for Pheonix to burst into flames like in the comic/animated series. :3
Go back and watch X2. Near the end, theres a part where the Phoenix manifests itself in Jean and she does burst into flames briefly to repel a blast from Cyclops.Originally Posted by Kytele
I kinda thought they'd do a lot more of that in X3 as well.
i too wanted to see more of phoenix
her flame scene in the end of x2 was too brief and i agree that they should have showed more in the third.
i think the bottom line is that they made a fuck ton of money on the film and that was priority one.
can't please everyone...but it was a good "hollywood-ized" flick in the sense that it kept me entertained, but the story was not only too rushed but didn't seem to piece together well. I still think it was extremley unnecessary to kill off the main chars so randomly...but again it was their "last stand"![]()
