I'm pessimistic, but I'm just hoping it's decent.

All of that is true, but Ratner or w/e came onto the project when it was already in pre-production and set to begin filming. His influence on the film will of course be there, but the major components were already set in place before he ever came onboard.

I just finished watching the 7 minute clip from X3...and it impressed me a lot. I'm really excited for the movie now.

They will save him for a later sequel... that is if they make more X-men movies (as long as it makes $$$ they will). I really hope this movie is good, but I am going in with lowered expectations so I do not get too disappointed just in case it sucks ass.

I do that as well, infact the only time I went in with high expections and excited was to see Silent Hill (which didn't dissapoint).

Apocalypse is a good villian when written correctly, but so few people have a handle on how to write him, Mr. Sinister, or Magneto that the chatacters just become two-dimensional villian sterotypes.

Has anyone read the lastest Apocalypse storyline in X-Men? It is an abomination that has gone a long way to compleltly ruining Apocalypse, Polaris, and Gambit. Not to mention how shitty that guy writes Rogue, Havok, Iceman, and let's face it, everyone else. Peter Milligan should thrown in jail and not allowed near any writing impliments for life. Thow Joe Casey in jail too.

Why does Marvel insist on shitty writers for it's flagship books?

I have heard good things about him in the past, but his X-Men run has been nothing short of wretched. He seriously had no grip on the characters and seems like he is completely in over his head for storyline.

Can't they just have Joss Wheaton write all three X-Men books?
