I didn't like the first two X-mens so I was skeptical, this one I thought was actually very good as comic - turn - movies come.

I had the hots for Rouge since I was a little kid and I'd totally get with her even now but she likes that metrosexual fag Iceman.

The way I saw this movie vs. the first two was like, the first two tried to be real movies, with a dramatic story. They kinda focused more on the characters as humans w/ special powers, not as mutants themselves.

The third movie kinda felt like a "real comic-book style" movie, if that makes any sense. It was a lot of fantastic special effects, tons of powers flying back and forth, a pretty good story etc. It was a lot more over the top, which normally I don't like, but considering the source I just had to watch it from my inner-childs point of view.

Oh, and Hugh Jackman fucking owns.

    !!!!!!SPOILER!!!!!!
    (if it even matters anymore)

I can't remember exactly, but the body that Xavier talked about with ethics and such, was it just a normal brain-dead body? Do you think Xavier will retain his powers in that body or is he just normal now? I'm just thinking if that body doesn't have the X-gene, he shouldn't be able to manifest his powers anymore in it unless his powers trascend dependence on a body.

I bet they figure out how to get the x-gene back or something, xavier still alive somewhat, and Magneto still has some ability, they didn't completely nerf him!

and I agree with xav, thats probably why i didn't like the first 2 movies and liked this alot. but they should have made hugh jackman shorter in comparison

    maybe spoilers, o well:

1- is pheonix the strongest mustant or what? what exactly is her power besides fucking everything up around her and being able to read minds and shit.

2- does cyclops come back? does pheonix come back?
    1. She is a class 5 mutant, whereas only like 4 other mutants in the X-men universe are class 5, Iceman, Apocalypse and 2 others cant remember atm

pheonix is earths strongest mutant but sure as hell not the strongest in the marvel univese.

    As far as Iceman goes,

Iceman's powers have evolved considerably over the years. Originally he had a normal human and an ice-form. In normal human form, he had the strength, agility and durability of a typical athletic male of his size. In his ice-form, his strength and durability was enhanced.

According to the laws of thermodynamics, cold is defined as the absence of heat, and therefore there is actually no such thing as "cold." Therefore, Iceman cannot emanate cold, but rather must absorb or dispel heat. Since heat is energy, Iceman's power then becomes a psionic ability to manipulate energy.

Iceman is able to lower his body temperature without harm to himself, reaching -105F within a few tenths of a second. He is able to freeze any moisture in the air around him into unusually hard ice to form ice-slides and various projectiles and shields. He is also able to summon moisture from the air and create a flood. He did this against the Juggernaut.

Iceman is immune to sub-zero temperatures. Iceman has thermal vision: the ability to detect objects visually by how much heat the objects generate.

Over the years, his mutant physiology has gone through radical changes. First, he was able to fashion an armor of densely packed snow around his human form when lowering his temperature; later, this became armor of solid ice. Eventually, he was actually able to transform his body into organic ice in which his strength and endurance were augmented to enhanced levels, but when he turned his body back to normal, he would be an ordinary human.

For a time, Iceman could no longer revert to a human form as part of a secondary mutation. He was constantly in a translucent organic ice-form. Iceman is also able to reconstitute his ice-form if any part of it is damaged or even if it is completely shattered, without permanent harm to himself. He is able to temporarily add the mass of a body of water to his own to increase his mass, size and physical power. His strength and durability in his ice-form are enhanced beyond normal human levels. He can survive not only as sentient ice but as sentient water and vapor. He has the capacity to manipulate all forms of moisture. He has all of the abilities to generate projectiles, slides and shields that he always has had but they have been augmented greatly. Under the mind control of Emma Frost he was able to deposit his bodily mass into a river and reconstitute his entire mass a great distance away in a matter of minutes.

Writers have implied that Iceman's lack of personal initiative has prevented him from discovering the deeper facets of his abilities and has led him instead to focus only on what might be the easiest manifestation of his abilities, the creation of ice.

In House of M #8, it appeared that Iceman was among the many thousands of mutants who lost their powers due to the magic of the Scarlet Witch, having returned to his normal human form and noticeably sweating. However, at the end of X-Men #178, while repelling an attack of anti-mutant protesters, Iceman's powers reactivated. In X-Men #179, it was revealed Iceman didn't lose his powers, but had subconsicously shut them down out of fear due to the aftermath of the House of M.

I dunno about him being a level 5.

this movie owned, and for all you whiners about iceman, they need to keep putting the hotties (gay looking or not) into the movies to please us ladies!

Hottest guy in the movie? Angel.

Anyway-- I've never read the comics but I still really loved the movie. I know it was supposed to be a trilogy, but is there another one coming out?

Aye - The Last Stand was the final movie in the trilogy with that story. The next one will start a new story and work its way up the line of movies made for that one haha. Either way I thought it was an amazing movie, it was awesome seeing Beast in action(BAD ASS) and finally seein Iceman freeze over... Ive been waiting for that one for a while now.

The more I think about it, I wonder what they could possibly do for a 4th movie.. like which story would they go along with. I remember when Professor X died in the comics back in the early 90s, we had the age of apocalypse where all hell broke loose. I wouldn't really see that being made into a good movie, however.

Hmm I don't know. A friend of mine suggested they could possibly make a movie based off of Wolverine's story, but I'm not so sure how exciting that would be. What kind of storyline do you guys think a fourth movie would have?

Two kind of helped with the backstory, but theres still way too many gaps that need to be filled. I'm looking forward to the one in 2007.

Wolverine continues his search to find out who he once was in the past he can't remember
I'm a bit skeptical as to how exciting a movie based off of Wolverine's past can be.

I'd see any movie with Wolverine. His character is a badass.

    *Spoilers*

Watching Wolverine inch up towards Phoenix, with his flesh being torn apart and healing almost instantly, exposing his chest w/ the metal skeleton...was just badass. I <3 Wolverine.

    I disagree.

To me, the whole theme of the movie was sorta like, is the mutant gene a disease or an evolution? Should someone seek a 'cure' for something that makes them different? Is being different something that needs to be cured?

I looked at the entire Phoenix aspect of the story as being connected with that, like, is it possible that the evolution is so powerful that a cure should be forced on someone? There was a quote in the movie, something like, "I don't know how democracy can survive against people who can move cities with their minds." To me, Phoenix represented the reason that the cure was militarized, the idea that some mutants were so powerful their very existance needed to be contained.

I dunno. I loved the movie.

Just got back from seeing it, thought it was complete crap. Beast was cool, but aside from that most everything about the movie just annoyed me. The Phoenix storyline was so totally butchered it really bothered me, and the way they just didn't flesh out alot of characters in any way, shape, or form bugged me too (like how Colossus is in the opening part, then does jack shit til the end).

Tbh the most entertaining part of the whole show for me was the Pirates of the Caribbean preview.
