Also makes more sense to kill the whm first instead of swinging away at the ninja who keeps putting shadows up....doesnt it ?

There's a difference between adjusting AI targetting for enfeebles (what they did) and completely removing hate control (what would be required for what Nynja just said).
Of course if the NIN sucks at keeping shadows up, or doesn't voke/DD enough to hold hate, the mob will indeed swing away at the WHM eventually.
I think the AI is bugged. Similar to how people are able to steal KB while an alliance is kiting it etc etc...
If i 2box duo ebony puddings i might use a rdm to gravity the pudding and i would nuke it down. But sometimes at around 40% hp (2 nukes) the pudding would nuke the rdm even though the only thing it casted the entire fight was gravity.
The reason I think this might be bugged is, i also solo these guys when i'm bored (chain 5 750 exp ftw!). And half the time after 2 nukes the mob goes yellow and if i dont stun it or finish casting a 3rd nuke fast enough it will DEPOP.
You would think after nuking 60% of it's HP off i woudl have enough aggro, but instead it goes yellow and depops. I think this behaviour happens more often than we think, the only reason we dont notice it is because usually we have 3-4 melee DD beating down on the mob, so the instant aggro "freezes", the mob is reclaimed. However in that split second the mob gets confused and it will cast magic onto someone else in the party. And in the case of solo'ing it will stop and depop.
I got a screenshot somewhere of my party silencing a Hobgoblin Physician and it silena's itself..while it's silenced......![]()
Yeah I've seen that a lot but not so much lately; I wonder if it's been fixed? If it used an Echo Drop I would at least say "wow, that's pretty cool" but casting Silena on itself to rid it's Silence? gtfoOriginally Posted by Tymon
I was at Proto-Ultima, I was just raised, and was standing there, Hadn't done a single thing that would pull any aggro, hadn't even Rested a tick, Just standing there weakened,
And he hits me with Holy II.
The mob was facing my direction, so I think he aimed for the tank, And missed and got me. I really can't think of any justifiable reason he'd toss a random spell out, But hate control in that battle is funky compared to elsewhere anyways.
I saw the a long time ago, now i see the Hobgoblin Physicians casting Stona on themselves randomly, not that I'm complaining about the small break but what's the point?Originally Posted by Tymon

I monitor the same behavior when soloing wamoura princes, they tend to go yellow>depop extremely easily, sometimes even after the initial gravity to pull them, it´s pretty annoying.Originally Posted by Chidorii
Dunno if this applies to the same fucked up hate AI but yesterday:
pting along happily and the nin decides he wishes to leave for besieged, we all agree this is a good idea.
We are following the nin through mamook to the stg pnt (exping on spider backs near zone) and nin decides to blow up, but hes WAY ahead of us (ninja boots.)
He explodes on a spider and it hits 3 others spiders, probably about 40 yards away from everyone else in the pt, and they emmediately run to everyone else in the party and rape our faces off :/
No hate on the spiders, and they were totally untouched by anything cept Gakure, why did this happen?
Mobs attack the party after a mijin if the NIN didn't disband or do it far enough away.Originally Posted by Remembrance
No kidding.. -_-
As long as I can remember, rabbits and lizards have always come after the party even if no one had done anything to the person who attacked it.
As for the mob's casting spells on other people, I don't know but they always cast the right enfeebles on me depending on my job. If I'm a melee, they cast bind, paralyze, or slow. If I'm a mage it's usually sleep or silence. Maybe that's just me though.![]()
yup, party/alliance hate-linking behavior is mob-specific. some types of mobs will add the whole alliance to its list and some mobs don't.
