Like someone else mentioned, end game mobs aren't really that liner, though some are "harder" than others they're all such different type of fights that they're not really linear. My ls had killed only Genbu out of the sky gods by the time we had our first ground HNM kill (fafnir)when we found it up unclaimed once, and we'd likely have had more but that was back in the day when JP ls's still claimed 99.9% of everything on asura, so we tended to focus on sky more for a while. If you have the people and jobs to take on the sky gods, you can take on any of the ground kings with knowledge of the right strategies and a bit of practice.

If the EU/GMT on your server are anything like Remora , /breaklinkshell and go join an NA one , At least even at 3am you have a better chance of killing/claiming a king than with retarded people.

This arguement came up on my server board on alla. (insert random noob joke here aimed at me)

This is what I came up with as "tiers"

    1 - Sky Gods Cleared
    2 - Kirin Cleared
3 - NQ Turtle / Behemoth Claimed and killed
4 - HQ Turtle / Behemoth Claimed and killed
5 - Fafnir Claimed and Killed
6 - Nidhogg Claimed and Killed
    7 - Tiamat Kill
    8 - Vrtra Kill
    9 - JoL Kill
    10 - AV Killed

This was a server specific tier of difficulty and prior to LSes beating AV. I tend to ignore jorg because hes usually up on Titan. My thought is that if you can muster a killing force for tiamat who isn't up for long on titan you can kill a planned jorg raid.

I think if not for the low drop rates of the jailers, JoL should be on par with Kirin in the "difficulty" scale, its really not a hard fight

NQ turtle and Behemoth are a joke...even for a new ls Genbu is harder, lol...

Think of the time requirement to get to sea vs sky and the # you need to beat the previous mobs. More people are getting sea everyday but it still is a long haul to get enough people there.

NQ Turtle / Behemoth are much easier than Gumby but note that I say CLAIMED and killed. 95% of the battle is just claiming the damn thing.

I would just like to echo the "cap out on sky stuff first" sentiment as it'll turn into a pain in the ass to do for most people if you start getting good at kings.

An EU LS on Midgard that does ok . We are catching up to the more established NA LSes bit by bit, killed a couple of each king pop, numerous Fafs, Behes, lolAdamans etc. My advice is start small, don't rush to DA, start out with BD, that way, when only 12 people are on the LS you don't get owned by a NQ pop. Once you've built a solid base of people with multiple jobs or you can rely to be on, then hit DA.

Last word is don't give up, it takes time for all LSes to move on to bigger things.

I started out with ground kings before sky. Ground kings are pretty damn easy except for the claim/drama. If anything I would get some wyrm experience with maybe the 3 kings limbus run so at least you know where to stand and understanding how meteor works.

I would also be VERY careful about burning people out. Unless you can live with a high turn over rate i wouldn't put a high priority into camping kings.

If you want LS achievement take down KS99, Ouryu, and Bahamut. Those require much greater work and effort than any ground king.

Word, getting back to sky after our uncontested 3-4 month stint in aery was like pulling teeth... then getting people back into aery was even more annoying.

My first LS wanted to cap everybody out on sky before doing land. 2 years later we broke and we weren't capped yet.

It's impossible to do it just due to the fact that a lot of NA's are just flat out fucking unreliable so you end up cycling through a lot more people and starting from square one a lot more than you should.

There's too many people there already. If a couple LSs quit the game then ok.

Going back & forth each week drove me nuts. Stick with Sky before focusing on something new.

I don't see any "real" evidence that NA are less "reliable" than JP or EU. If you drive people hard and expect them to camp or have events every day, then people are going to leave. There are also matters of real life issues and usually a few months into doing HNM harcore it becomes obvious that their priorities should remain elsewhere. Maybe JP just like to suffer more or don't need to sleep, but I have no real evidence to back either of those claims.

I have yet to know any hardcore hnm ls that does not suffer greatly from attrition. It comes with the territory, so if you want to camp kings every day you better have a damn high claim rate so you can cycle new people in when the old ones burn out. But then you end up with a core of old people who stay with the ls and a lot of new people which creates other problems.

People don't realize what they're committing themselves to when they join an end-game linkshell that does everything. They do everything. Every day. Things that everyone needs to help to accomplish. I don't ask people to be awake when they wouldn't normally be to camp a king, I do ask that you don't xp a level 30 job while the rest of your linkshell is sky farming.

according to some people, that's the difference between a good LS and a bad LS.

Being able to put one's self aside even when it's inconvenient (not actually harmful to one's way of life, but just inconvenient) is the difference between getting it done and sitting around with 6 people on first window.

Yup, our server thinks that is what makes an LS the best. Falling asleep at work because Fafnir was 1AM-4AM is their definition of skill.

Do Chevlniklolspelling KS99 for practice at KB. My linkshell did it 3 times on a Tuesday night and the next day KB had popped with no one expecting it. My linkshell ran down there and killed KB our first time ever and its so much easier compared to the ks99

I should rephrase. I'm not going to tell someone "KT window is at midnight your time, I know you have school tomorrow but DON'T LOG OFF OR I BREAK YOUR PEARL!!" I also can't tell people "we can't have you in our LS unless we can have your phone number and you are able to log on any time we call". (or keep your vent turned way up so you can wake up when Fafnir pops)
