Merits sj?

I have about 80 merits atm all of them into my BLM. Im thinking about lvling my RDM to 75 now to merit the Lightning and Blizzard Acc. If I did this and went BLM/RDM would the merits in my RDM have any effect?

Job specific merits are Job Specific, so no. -- General merits however carry over. (weapons others etc.)

They won't carry over to other jobs, even if you've got a merited job subbed on another 75 job.

Besides as an RDM, if you're going to fully merit two elements, it should be ice and wind.

I originally wanted to level WAR to 75 to merit provoke, when I got to 60 or so I cried for a while then finished it for the fun of it.

how was this tested? it seems like mine are on, although not at 100% strength (like any other merits, they are limited when you are low level)

In lv 50 and below caps, I don't kick at all on monk despite having +5% kick attacks on my merits.

I've also heard WARs confirm that their berserk recast wasn't lowered when capped.

So I think job specific merits only apply to a 75 job.

It was flatly stated by SE that unless your level 75 at that time, they don't kick in.
