Congrats Wafik, now you're not allowed to sleep till you max out your gear and give us 2k + Mercies everytime![]()
Congratulations, it's nice to see that some of these relic weapons have weapon skills with notable damage.
I partied last night with a PLD/NIN that had Excalibur and suffice it to say, once the "wow factor" of having Knights of Round in our PT wore off, I wasn't too impressed by the damage.
The extended Light effect was interesting though. Sometimes it would spike at 500-1000 for the second light effect, but most of the time, it would stay at an unimpressive 50-150 or so.
Does the extended Light effect add any type of bonus for MB or such?
Just a word of warning, make sure and backup the dat files first before copying this mod over. It has worked 100% for me, no issues whatsoever. But over the weekend we tried installing to a friend's pc as well, and it just wouldn't work - game kept crashing at startup screen. We ended up just copying over the backed up files and it worked again.Originally Posted by Rawk
Pretty damn sweet UI mods though, very nice change of pace after looking at the same thing for 2 years.
At first it looked too "Windows 98" for me, but after getting used to it I'd definately say this is an awesome mod...alot easier on the eyes in alot of different situations, especially if you play for many hours at a time
That's the first report I've heard of my mod crashing somebody.Originally Posted by draxyl
By any chance did your friend not have TAU installed? I haven't tested it at all without TAU so that could be it, even though everyone should have the same original file anyway (SE updated it in a pre-TAU patch to add BLU, COR, and PUP to the search and stuff). There also might be problems with it if you try to overwrite the UI dat while logged into POL (but logged out of FFXI) but even that shouldn't crash you.
Sorry for the thread hijacking Wafik. Grats on Mandau!
He has TAU installed.
Hmmm....I'm pretty sure he was logged into POL originally when he installed the mod. He was then able to log into FFXI, and could see some parts of the mod (the equip/chat window) but not others (the font, the menu buttons). We then logged out of POL, closed the app, and came back into FFXI - thats where we ran into the issue of FFXI crashing everytime we started it up.
At that point, we closed everything again and re-extracted the zip contents out to their respective folders. Still had the same issue, which is when we decided to just say fuck it and copy over the backups.

I guess the next obvious question, assuming it hasn't been asked already, is how often does the poison kick in?
The first reason anyone in ls brings up for not getting the dagger is the poison going off on something we'd want to sleep, aka fafhog.
Goes off very frequently against EPs from my experience, around 10-15%?
It may be rarer against IT.
First and foremost, contratulations on the relic. This is one of the first relics posted I haven't seen flamed into the ground. I'm sure some part of that is people on the forums know your a worthwhile player or hold some level of respect for yee.
Second I did have a few questions. The proc rate on the 3x damage, is it affected by mobs level? I've heard 10%, is that figure accurate? With the weapon damage and the 3x damage, do you think its a better idea to offhand a lower delay/slightly lower damage weapon to insite the proc rate? Or is it a better idea to keep a higher delay, good damage weapon in your offhand?
Triple-damage phenomenon is quite rare. I parsed the Spharai to trigger triple damage at a 1-2% rate on XP mobs.Originally Posted by kareface
With the assumption that kicks can't triple damage, 1-2% still seems too low. Excalibur proccesses at around 10%, as do most other ones from what I've heard from friends on AIM.Originally Posted by aurik

Tell me about it. Only 1-2% of all hits (including kicks) triggered the triple damage while in a 40k+XP party in KRT with Spharai. I still have the log saved from the party; you're welcome to it if you feel like picking through the mountain of data yourself.Originally Posted by WizerdRemora
I will parse about 4 hours of data on Mandau's 3xDMG proc tonight when I get home from work. My experience: it's not anywhere even close to 10%.
Possibly retarded thinking given the way FFXI works, but it could be operating under a system similar to WoW in that proc rate is based on weapon delay and designed to activate a certain number of times over the course of a minute or so.
