That's a good point, emnity as you cast the spell is also important, I was considering the emnity- ring as a swap after the spell, which also helps but not as much. I went a bit overboard with saying "completely replaceable" when summarizing my earlier point.
So you're right while you never use both MND and INT at the same time on a ring, emnity and either stat can be useful to have at the same time. I think most mages don't swap too much emnity- gear on and off when casting (maybe one or two errant pieces), so I think many still just get tamas just to save gil and space, but if they are really big on emnity- and don't care much for melee, then they might reasonably choose tamas for the emnity- + MND or INT on the same ring.
Still, I think it's a big decision that they should think carefully about, because you can't go back and you might regret it if you later become main melee.

Similarly, I'm not impressed at picking a ring based solely on +5 str. The fact that it is +5 SB +5 STP while also having +5 STR is what makes it good--that is, when you don't need the accuracy.

The +max stat with -max emnity is what makes Tamas good, not the enmity or stat alone. The fact that your choice serves as a peak performer for both int-based spells and mnd-based spells in every situation is underrated too.

For example, I have a Rajas, but I only use it for farming and merits on specific stuff with abnormally low evasion (read: Mire xp). Waste of a ring choice? If I had an endgame mage or tank, probably, but seeing as none of the rings had clothcraft+1 none of the choices are outstanding.

That said, I agree with Genome; if you're picking a ring to save money, I have no pity when you regret your decision later, lolbushinomimitriumphearring.

Another thing I like about Tamas is that when I rest to full, I have 30 MP that I can spend when jumping straight into enfeebling, whereas without it, I would have to blow that extra MP from my full rest gear on "Extra" spells. During some events, I get up straight from resting to Nuking or Enfeebling rather than Curing or Hasting or Refreshing, and its nice to not lose that 30 MP from a gear swap just before casting. Not to mention I have Convert meritted so that I get to utilize max MP every 9 minutes as apposed to every 10, it adds up after a while.

Same reason I intend to upgrade my Warlock's Tabard to +1, it gives +34 MP, +5hMP, and keeps the +15 to Enfeebling so that not only can I rest in it instead of Errant for as-fast and more Full Rest MP, but I can get up and go straight into a cast and put that 30 MP to imediate use.

Couldn't you technically drop the earring and do the BC over again to choose a new one?

March on three melee won't meet the damage capability of a capable fourth melee with double Minuet.

Maybe if it was BRD, COR, RDM, 3 melee. Then you'd be getting somewhere.
becasue you dont need that much dmg in merit pt.
meleeX3 rdm brdX2 is the best setup for ticket pt.
You don't need that much Haste either. Seeing how more swings for damage outweighs slightly faster swings by less people, the only real benefit to a two-bard party would be an extra puller and lullaby.

Put a COR in instead with Fighter's Roll (as there will inevitably be a WAR in this party) and Rogue's Roll (Thief optional). COR can melee/shoot between rolls, not to mention Random Deal and Quick Draw for fast pulling. Be better than anything a two-bard party could do.
the real benefit is the mp not the haste. and extra puller, lullaby like you said.
1 brd has to switch to acc song if you fight mamool lukers.

COR works too, but not enough 75 cors now, its pointless to argue COR+brd is better than brdX2.

If you read again the series of quotes, you will see that I was making a general point about in-game choices you can never undo. The point about the tamas ring being completely replaceable by macro swaps of normal rings still stands. You can't even get close to replacing rajas with macro swapping other rings because all the multiple stats are useful at the same time, while on tamas they are not. This argument fails, I dont care if I can get more use out of all those stats at once on my melee jobs, it still does not come anywhere close to me in my mage jobs. I'm getting sick of melees telling me that I chose the "wrong" ring, when all they say is "you use 5 stats at once durrrrrrrrrrrr".

My mage is the most useful to me, it already wins. I'll list more ways in how it wins for me :
    - BCNM, I take it to any BCNM from lvl30+ And I have my Tamas ring on, my mage job, and im sure you know how expensive mage rings are in comparison to melee rings.

-EXP PT, 5 int on my blm helps, 30 mp helps, -enmity helps. 5 int and mnd on my rdm help it, the MP helps greatly since RDM have the lowest mage MP pool, -enmity is nice, but not as needed as blm.

    - HNM / NM, Helps greatly, the -enm helps on long fights, I dont draw hate as fast as anyone else, especially while on RDM curebombing people who dont know what utsusemi is, 5 int/5 mind is great, 30mp is great.

-People with many jobs, Dunno if monk is your only job, but i'm sure as a monk you probably have 2-3 sets of gear. That doesnt change when you swap to another job. I have BLM (1 set of enfeebling gear, ele gear, -enm gear, resting gear) RDM (enfeebling setup, MP/healing setup, shares blm resting and -enm setup) These jobs share the EIGHT staves I carry around, BST (1 set of rampage gear, 1 set of accuracy, 1 set of charm gear), THF (1 set of acc, 1 set of Racc, 1 set of SA, 1 set of TA). The tamas ring helps immensly when you have hardly any space to have for yourself.

I'm on my mage jobs these days about equal time I am with melee, but on my mage jobs, I keep the thing on 100% of the time, however with melee, I'd only use that ring to WS, or only on low VT's/T, caedvera camp, where I can give up some acc for those bonuses. I sit on alot of +acc, but I still dont feel too comfortable with it, I want more.

At the end, telling a mage they chose the wrong ring, because they'd rather benefit their mage more than their melee is stupid. Especially when they themselves would make more literal use out of that ring than theoretical use that you guys keep saying.

The point of the three rings is to choose what YOU do most of all.

You're only REALLY screwed if you play all jobs equally then you have to make a decision.

If you're happy with yours then be happy with yours, no reason to get on someone's ass about it.

Shit Im leveling pld and part of me wishes I had chosen Sattva, but really my warrior and monk use rajas more so meh.

You might be taking this a bit too defensively.
If you really like tamas, like I said that's fine. From your list it still seems to boil down to 2 things: space and gil, rather than stats or uniqueness. There's nothing wrong with that, both are important things and as you mentioned space can be really a big factor the longer you play and the more jobs you play. I only like to play mnk main, yet I still have 80/80 storage with all mannequins, 50/50 moglocker, 80/80 moghouse full of rare ex items alone, with about 40 non-rare-ex total space to play around with...

Nevertheless, the point remains that those rings and earrings are choices you can't go back on, and some people regret them still (some for example start out as mage then lose interest and sell all their mage stuff to play melee). So all I have said is people should really think carefully about it, consider what they might be doing in the future too, and what is really most important to them. You seem to be at a point where you know well how you play and what you like to do, and how important space and certain stats are for you.

Sometimes adding a 'durrrr' or 'hay' near a valid argument might confuse people and make it sound less valid, it's a common mistake. In the case of tamas vs rajas it's not purely a comparison of stats vs stats or melee vs mage, but mostly between something that is unique and irreplaceable for melee (this is both for rajas and suppanomimi) vs something that mostly just saves a lot of gil and space for mages.
The mage ring might still be the ideal choice for you, but for other people who are facing this decision for the first time, those are the things they will have to weigh and decide on.

That's because I've lost count on how many melees try to force their decisions down my throat, on my item choices, despite the fact that if I decided to melee along side them so I can get use out of the ring, they'd tell me to gtfo and refresh.

Anytime people say "tamas sucks u shuld of got rajas lolz" when it's actually a good ring, a swarm of crabs spawn in my nether-reigons.
