Whoever broke the tables on that last page, could you go back and fix your post?
I'm on a 12 in screen here and I fucking despise having to scroll sideways to
read every line.
I think it was wafik's NOOOooooOOOOOoooOOOOO that did it.

I can see you're really bothered by this, and you might 'hate' the arguments i pointed out, however all the points I made remain true.
You use accuracy from DEX and the chance of critical on every hit and even wss. Yes, DEX counts as part of the formula each time, both for accuracy and chance of critical. So do subtle blow and store tp. On the other hand, once again, yes you can swap mage rings, depending on level even better ones than tamas as I mentioned earlier, for better max mp, more int, more mnd, leaving it down to just more enmity and convenience.
You can't say the same for melee rings. Having 2x STR rings and 2x DEX rings as you mention does not replace having rajas, since I am sure I don't need to remind you that, repeat after me: you use all 4 stats at the same time as melee.
Still, your anger seems unjustified, nobody here is telling you that you made a bad choice or attacking you, I suspect people are just puzzled at your anger and might have responded to your personal attacks negatively in the past, and you probably interpreted it as them telling you you made a bad choice and got even more hostile and emotionally charged.

You still have not showed me a ring that's on the AH that's better than 5INT. Show me it, the ring I will use to replace my current snow ring, when my rings for thief are ones I can buy off AH. I am exploding with dex out of my ass on thief, the only thing missing is STR, which I use a ring for.Originally Posted by genome

Onorgul was right, you are a moron. No wonder the KI community flamed you. You cant even accept the fact that someone wants a ring different than yours, and cant possibly let their choice be useful to them, because you didnt make it for them![]()

You attacked my choices, not me myself, you keep this broken record about how replacable those rings are, and how irriplacable a rajas ring is, when it's clearly replacable. Store TP isnt that great of a trait when the only amount you have is +5, it's nice when you have big chunks of it. Subtle blow is nice, but remind me when is the last time subtle blow was a make or break concept? It's not when in such a tiny increment as +5, maybe if it was like a monks base subtle blow +20, maybe a ton of subtle blow gear, but my thief is still going to give alot of TP to the mob for not as much damage as the rest of the pt, weather you will admit this or not.
Like I said before, I even if I had a rajas ring, it would hardly be used in anything aside from a macro peice, so you are telling me I made the wrong decision in rings, saying I have a lesser ring (a ring that I wear 100% of the time on my mage jobs), so I can get a macro peice that I will wear for what, 3% of my gameplay and maybe around jeuno.
No
Attacking my choices = Attacking me. Obviously, you are too narrow minded to see why a blm / rdm is going to be offended when you call his armor replaceable.
None of the CoP rings are even that amazing. RoZ earrings were great because they offered something unique like +skill +enhance dual weild etc, CoP rings were just stats. +5 int +5 mind, yes please.
You like I said, are a monorail. You have a 1 way track of thought. No matter how many times someone slams you over the head with something, you just choo choo past with your thoughts.
NO. Show me where you'll see a BLM with a brain in MP rings? We want INT rings, MP is a bonus, show me the low lvl -enmity rings, there are none. This ring gives us something we dont have in the low levels, and it combines a bunch of useful stats to us at high level.depending on level even better ones than tamas as I mentioned earlier, for better max mp, more int, more mnd, leaving it down to just more enmity and convenience.
And you dont shut up about how you think the only reason we pick this ring is for convenience.
Once again. The ring on my left on BLM :
Snow ring :
* Strength -2
* Agility +2
* Intelligence +5
The ring on my right on BLM :
Tamas ring :
* MP +15~30
* Intelligence +2~5
* Mind +2~5
* Enmity -3
Which is the better ring? Tell me? If you picked Tamas, you are right! It's the best mage ring in the whole of FF.
Are all monks made of stupid? Or just this one. I dont see how someone cant see how this is the best mage ring in FFXI. Going to a person who takes their mage serious, and their melee "eh" , they are not going to pick up melee gear over the best mage ring in FFXI.
When i finished COP i had only monk at level 75. I picked raja's ring. Now that my RDM is 75 also, i really wish i would have picked tamas ring instead.Are all monks made of stupid? Or just this one. I dont see how someone cant see how this is the best mage ring in FFXI. Going to a person who takes their mage serious, and their melee "eh" , they are not going to pick up melee gear over the best mage ring in FFXI.
edit: PS- real monks are made of meat.
The big selling point of the ring is enmity for BLM. You can't have 5 INT and -3 Enmity on any other ring, and thats a huge difference maker for fights like Bahamut #2 where you need to be able to do damage quickly without getting hate.
For RDM, can't have INT, MND and MP on the same ring either. -Enmity also the best stat to have when you're curebombing a pld at tiamat or somethin.
Mage jobs are far more "important" than THF in endgame as well. If you want to make the most use of the ring you pick, and you're BLM, RDM and THF 75, you pick Tamas. End of story.
I picked rajas though despite all that because I wanted to pimp my NIN out and I felt I didn't need the -3 Enmity or 30 MP, which is all it has over my Snow Ring. Theres no right or wrong ring unless you don't use it at all.
wow Lordwakif, where does all that anger comes from... ease up with the personal attacks.

All the points I made remain valid, nobody ever talked about your choices and whether they were bad, the topic was items that are a one-time choice and what you trade off by choosing one vs another, not lordwakif and whether he should be angry.
You can agree with the stats being different and more unique/ non-replaceable, and still choose another ring based on what you value more.
You can't replace rajas with str and dex only rings. You complain about repeating angruments but you repeat the same statement as well, the difference is that you actually can't replace them, just like I said, because you use both stats (all 4 in fact) on every melee attack and ws. It's a very straightforward point, there is no need to deny it no matter how upset you are at the moment or in your life in general.
I gave you an example of rings that give more INT, mp, and MND at level 30, something that doesn't happen with rajas, and it was in response of the claim made that it is the best ring for that level range. Aside for the emnity, it is not, and that's why i listed rings that are better at that level range.
Again, don't take it as a personal attack, complain to SE for making this the case. Taking it out of a job class (monks), or someone simply pointing out something you don't like to think about only distracts you from addressing whatever problem in your life that is making you so angry and snapping at random people.
No, but you can replace it with a sniper ring (+1), which is often better anyway.You can't replace rajas with str and dex only rings.
In some cases it is, definitely, especially the +1 where the difference in accuracy is 4.5 and not just 2.5. But there are also many cases where you wouldn't (soloing for example). The point again was never that rajas is the one ring that binds them all, simply that it's very unique, and more special for melee than tamas is for mages because you don't actually benefit from INT and MND (and after the first spell from max mp+) at the same time, so if you later change your mind it's easier to make up for the loss of tamas with macro swaps (except for the ring emnity while casting or at lower levels), while it's impossible to later make up for the combined stats of rajas with anything, macro swaps etc. Heck there is no subtle blow+ or store tp+ ring at all for that matter.Originally Posted by Brennon
Now, like I said before, that's as far as I was making the comparison, I never attributed a value judgement past this, saying one choice would be wrong or another right. I just layed those points and then each person can make their own decisions based on what they value more. There is no irreplaceable value on having both MND and INT on the same ring, but it sure is convenient. The enmity + MND or enmity +INT are instead more unique, and depending on how important that is for someone they might choose it just based on that. And if you never plan on playing melee you wouldn't have much of a reason for picking rajas, so getting a more unique ring that you would never use wouldn't help you much, absolutely.
Still there is no reason to deny the uniqueness and the advantage of having all 4 stats on rajas be useful at the same time for a melee, so if you think you might play melee as well, losing rajas is just harder to compensate for than losing tamas, just something to keep in mind when making those one-time only decisions like suppanomimi vs bushinomimi, ethereal vs magnetic/hollow, etc.
Oh please, this isnt a psychology class, this is me attacking you for attacking my gear. You are the one trying to deter it away from you, by pretending to be all in awe at people being shocked at your retardedness.Originally Posted by genome
You know you are retarded too, the main reason you come to post here, is because nobody on the monk boards on KI listen to you anymore after Rockius and co shut you down. *oops*
Let's play psychiatrist.
The behaviour I see in you is not "denial", it's "retarded" . "Hmmm, I wonder why he is angry <.> I'll keep saying that the ring is shitty and repeat my broken record of blahblahblahblahblah".
WaFiK. I'm amazed someone of your "intellect" can not even see past a simple spelling error.wow Lordwakif
What is this? Someone who gets my point! /shocked. But im sure we all know that Genome's retardedness will not see past this, and he will tell my why my tamas is so replaceable and why I am living in sin without my RajasOriginally Posted by Dez

Obviously this post is to Genome, and anyone who likes to argue about the CoP rings:
I always find it hilarious when someone tries to tell someone else they picked the wrong ring, since, you know, everyone has a different playstile, and opinions, fact is: You get to pick your own ring, and that is it, stfu about what someone else gets and be happy with what you have.
That being said, I was 75 blm for well over a year before I leveled my second job at the time (Mnk), then when I completed CoP I was leveling my Rng as well and now 61 Sam, I thought to myself I already had two snow rings and Blm was going to be the only mage job for my main char, so Rajas was my choice and I'm happy with it. Truth be told, I am blm for events 95% of the times (I get to screw around as mnk for some dynamis and limbus, but thats about it, and the off chance that we need a rng for sky) and many times I can't help but feel that the -3 enmity from Tamas may have saved me from getting hate after a big nuke on something that counts and I possibly could have lived a bit longer and helped my ls out more(-enmity merits, mixed in other -enmity pieces usually I will have -12 enmity or so when I nuke, sometimes more since I found that there is no such thing as too much -enmity when you are already doing plenty of dmg).
Another note, Brennon even has Spharai, she has always been an incredible monk her whole time (she was awesome in exp parties back in the newb days when people thought mnks, wars, and nins sucked, even prior to the omgrng days) and if she can see the benefits of Tamas ring, you should take your head out of your ass and think things through and stop trying to tell others Tamas is bad and Rajas is all that.
All I know is, my Rajas ring is just tooo fucking irreplacable. It's so irreplacable I have to have it on while I'm in Manaburn Dynamis, while I'm nuking down Fafhogg, and especially while I'm soloing Puddings for a quick 10K. That's how god damn irreplacable that ring is.
People need to calm down.
Wow.
Both rings offer unique stat combinations, one happens to be stats other rings can provide (to varying degrees) and one has some replaceable stats and some stats that are specific to it among rings, but what does it matter? In both cases, you can't replace the overall combination.
Telling people a certain ring isn't as unique doesn't matter at all if they're not going to use it, its the same with all the items in "pick one only" sets. What's someone that doesn't use any job with Dual Wield in endgame going to do with a Suppanomimi? Look at it? That enhanced DW is gonna do all sorts of magic on jobs without the trait, I'm sure. Same thing with the Apocalypse Nigh earrings, if you'll never be using a damage taking tank for endgame purposes, an Etheareal Earring is just a toy, it doesn't matter if the stats on it are unique. The stats on the other earrings are pretty unique too for something on an earring slot.
Final thing, people need to stop arguing things like "don't tell me I picked the wrong ring, because I think the ring you picked is useless". Just like INT +5 Enmity -3 MP+30 is strictly better than INT +5 while casting a nuke (and the MP matters by allowing an initial spell that isn't gimped by mp only gear, or by boosting your max mp higher making your Uggalepih Pendant trigger earlier for example), nobody can argue that STR+5 DEX+5 Store TP +5 Subtle Blow +5 isn't better than STR+5 or DEX+5 for a SATA WS. Whether you would use it for TPing or not, which may or may not be better depending on your job/sub/food/party config/mobs, Rajas remains a better WSing ring than either Flame or Thunder, and there isn't anything that can replace that combination, just like there isn't anything that can replace the combination Tamas gives on spells.
So both sides enjoy whatever ring you got and stop trying to justify what you pick by saying what the other got is utterly replaceable, because that's just retarded.
