Anyone else a gimp?

I don't mind people's jobs being gimp (especially if I do know them to be good players that can overcome it), but as locke eluded to earlier it does irk me when people zerg their jobs to 75 just to join an HNMLS...alot of them never learn the job nor know how to actually pimp it out.

Of all my jobs, I guess MNK is the gimpest. At the time being he's going to share the Horo kote with my NIN and not getting his own Ochiudo's, but he's already got all the BB items so I'll make up for it at 71 :D

If you have Melee Gloves, just buy a pair for levelling and then sell them when you can wear the af2. Vs melee gloves, nobody will know the difference <_< the only time I wear my Ochiudos is for serious xp.

I'm not gimp on any of my jobs I have full arhat+1 and 3/5 yasha +1 for my ninja (lv 62 currently) and I have a full hq staff set minus apollo for my lv53 blm. But then I never ever xp...it's like Ulmo's full-penance lv 55 summoner

I don't know, define gimp. My 75 jobs share a lot of gear (HQ staves, full Zenith, Magnetic Earring, etc). However I'd consider RDM my weakest of the 3 since I don't actively work on getting more gear for it (Crimson aside).

I got it to 75 before the Wise set came out and never really bothered getting any of it. That being said, I don't consider it gimped...just not as good as RDMs that want to pimp themselves out.

Truly pimp RDMs do not wear Wise gear. Gimp RDMs wear Chasuble and wonder why all of their enfeebles get resisted.

My RDM is definitely 100x more gimp than my SMN is in terms of pimp gear.

Best thing is, my RDM is normally used for getting pimp items for my SMN. RDM is a pretty powerful job on its own support-wise without optimal gear.

AF chainmail is a pretty decent body @75 for ninja because of the DW up. SH just isn't very good in burn parties--use hauby or a byrnie or AF1/2.

Also, strength rings are meh, and flame rings are a huge waste of money. Despite holding onto t0 HNM-onry hq gear for my ninja that I'm 8 levels away from wearing, and having a small fortune in expensive chi-blast gear that I haven't taken off my mule in 5 months, I don't have flame rings. I perma-loaned my signed ruby rings to Wafik since I never ever use them. Accuracy rings onry.

My gear for all 3 of my 75s is... passable?

My setups for HNM are pretty much done. Assload of ACC for DRK, Att gear with just enuff acc for THF, and NIN has all the enmity/vit/dmg%- shit I really need, enuff to sjust about solo tank niddhogg, with good mage support.

For meriting, my NIN is really the only job I merit with these days. I use Walahra, AF1 body, AF1+1 hands (waiting on BHide to drop from HNM so i can get it for cheaper), AF2 legs (BHaidate being a bitch just as I'm elegible). I dont have U/U (i used a friend's, sure i attacked faster, but my DoT increased by about 15 dmg per fight -_- not good enuff for 30mil). Rajas/Flame, no PCC (waiting on drop from BCNM). The only thing I'm really looking to buy is Toreador's ring for NIN. Also waiting on the next Swift Belt run. Brutal Earring (41/75) and Triumph Earring on my list.

A ll in all, my NIN can keep up with/surpass any job ive pted with. Rid WARs, similarly geared NINs, and BB MNKs with the rest of their shit decent are the only jobs that can really beat me. Full katana, full crits, and lvl 4 STR.

THF... /sigh... isn't -bad-. I need Blau Dolch (again rarely used for anything but HNMs as /SAM), thunder ring... adroit earring. Sirocco's Kukri... sadly the few times I've had the ToD it was like 2AM PST and no one was around to help. As far as TP gear, I'm not bad off. AF2 feet, Suppo, Dragon Subligar (dusk trousers are nice if ur a personal dmg whore, but subtle blow helps the entire pt more, i feel), walahra turban, Sharn/Rapparee (4% haste is hard to turn down). For WS I use heca body/feet, and +1 hands. Dragon sub and empress hairpin (waiting on my shot @ heca cap). Using martial/garuda til i have the $$$ and time to upgrade to BD/Sirocco.

DRK was my first job, and my true love. Sadly, it just isn't as useful as anything else i have. E head/feet, hecatomb body/feet, hands+1. hell, it's still got death scythe and not oric, and still dont have any dusk or triumph earring. DRK, sadly, is by far my most gimp job. Right now, I'm just waiting til i can pimp NIN and THF, my HNM jobs, before pimping DRK.

My whm is 65 atm. No serket ring, I'm missing that red mnd/int/-enm cape... but really, it's pretty much ok. Noble's body waiting for me @ 68 (<3 DS), i'll have full blessed. Geist earrings, antivenom earring for resting... pretty much just "meh, it's ok" gear. Raven berret/jupon, AF hands/legs, RSE1 feet (need to change that).

for WHM my endgame setup will be blessed hands/legs/feet, AF2 Body (got it last friday, thanks Legacy) or Blessed body. I have a goal to break 900 on a cureV, without lightsday or weather... elvaan mnd kicks other job's asses.

But overall, my jobs are -very- passable, and for HNM situations, pertty much as good as they are gonna get. I love all my jobs... but DRK, while my favorite, is less useful, so it's not as geared out. After WHM is 75, i plan on pimping NIN, then THF, then DRK, then WHM with all the best buyable gear i can manage. After that, I'm prolly gonna lvl PLD, cuz it's so cool, and the best tank in the game as PLD/NIN, specifically for Wyrms and anything kited!

O well, i hate when people get an easy HNM job (blm brd rdm smn, usually mages) then after like 3 months of being in a shell, decide they hate the job and lvl another (usually a melee). So they sell all the gear, and thus are fucking useless to their LS/Friends. That just drives me nuts! or when people have a job @ 75 that isnt crazy useful (drg, drk) and it's their only 75... so they lvl another melee!!! cmon people, expand for ur ls, and dont just do a bunch of melees, or a bunch of mages.

anyways... anyone else have any similar opinions?

I would like to think my gear is good, not the best, but good, at some points I have some of the best gear possible then at other points less than perfect gear, depending on what I am leveling I may sell an hq piece or two with the intent on rebuying again later; though sometimes I may just never buy again (hi2u prism cape, maybe someday again, lol). Couple of things I know I will never sell would be:

P. charm
HQ staves (I have two full sets, since I have two toons and I refuse to have my gear spread out between both toons)
Sniper rings
Snow rings
Flame ring (sold one since I got Rajas)
O. Kote
E. Bow (lolrng, right?)
Taru rse2 feet
Hauby (well have a +1 now)
Amemmit+1 (will get foragers when sam is of level)


And I guess the rest of my gear is mostly just rare/ex so, for the most part I try to keep all my jobs geared up, in case I decide to play them and not feel gimp.

My RDM is decently pimped. 4/5 AFv2 (Missing hat...) which means a lot more for RDM than most jobs as every piece of our AFv2 has a use. I have the 4 HQ staves that pertain to enfeebling (Dark, Ice, Wind, Earth). Enfeebling Earring, all 4 torques that matter (Enfeebling, Elemental, Dark, Enhancing), P-Rope, Standard issue Phantom Tathlum, full set (Minus head) of Errant. Tamas Ring of course. And as you can see from my sig, I have a good amount of merits (Aside from base stats, I'm done with everything that matters for RDM, working on the last upgrade to Spell Interruption Down right now)

Some things that could be better. I'm still using Rainbow Cape (Was outlotted by ONE on Altruistic), nq Errant, but I have no intention of upgrading this any time soon. Need a Hedgehog Bomb for when I'm main healer. Need Zenith Mitts when I finally get priority over the dozen BLMs who still need it (Stingy ass Genbu...). Hopefully going to have Nashira Saraweels this wednesday which will be the last Leg gear I will ever need. (For LS/HMM/XP, I'm also next in line for Fast Pants once Kirin stops being a bitch and drops them for me) Need an HQ Thunder Staff just for nuking. I have an Aqua Ring, but for INT I have Diamond which really needs to be a Snow Ring. Eventually need to get an Elemental Earring. Want a Dalmatica eventually, but I'm not stressing over it.

Also, yes, the Wise set sucks. The Feet might be worth getting just to have INT in the feet slot, but thats IT (And actually, for me the RSE2 feet might be better for the 30 MP they give)
