Tiamat / Cerberus random death and damage :(

I've noticed that Genbu hits like a sissy when you start out, but by the end he hits like a fucking freight train. I melee'd him on my Monk before (omg meat + minuets = damage) and I managed to pull hate when he was under 20% and he turned around and criticaled me for over 1100 damage and dropped me in one hit.

it is counter on Tiamat, i have krakened him as a drk and have been countered alot, even died instantly once when getting countered on mightystrikes.

I always wondered what it was, it's always been kinda lame to be beating the hell out of one of these mobs then all of a sudden you drop dead or to red hp and it doesn't even say you got hit. I know I was constantly checking my filters wen stuff like this happened, and it said nothing in them.

Is this "counter" activated from anywhere around the wyrm, or is it only in front?

I've only personally experienced it if you're in front of them, not particularly in front of their head, but anywhere in front of them, whether it be diagonally in front, zigzag, whatever the fuck, you know what I'm trying to say.

We dont have an infinite supply of SMN

I don't think Genbu's problem is counter... I've only ever seen the tank affected by his problem, never someone else (not even when attacking in front). Also, I've lost shadows from Genbu without the log while chi kiting in a group of 4. I'd just reapplied Utsusemi: Ni and then ran past him... 1 double attack (2 shadows) later and my shadows are all gone.

And there were several reports a while back of people just dropping dead. Seemed to happen in certain zones like Ulerguerand and Attohwa Chasm where monsters could cast Doom, and/or where Wyrms were, but none of the reports were affected by these things. Some weren't even fighting anything and had no aggro... just kinda dropped dead.

Apparently Jailer of Prudence is still glitched and now attacks people from under the ground in multiple zones.

As a THF, I have noticed that anytime I stand behind the tanks I get 'ghost' hit. Its like Tiamat hits through the tanks on to me. To counter this, I tp from the side, and only go behind the tanks when I TAWS, hoping to god he doesnt double attack whoever is infront of me and kill me.

I have only noticed this on Tiamat, not on Cerebrus.

If anyone feels like testing, stand directly behind whichever tank has hate. Nothing will show in the log, you will just see your hp drop drastically. I really dont think its counter because it only happens when I stand right behind whomever has hate.

Anyway, I'm not a THF (well, yet.. it's 65) so I can't test this but I could get someone to next time I kill Genbu.

We once had a blm of ours warp and switch to thf while Tiamat was at one percent. When he got back, he ran up, did steal, and died.

Can you counter a steal? He wasnt engaged when this happened.

Its not counter. He stood behind a tank that had hate. Tiamat hit him through the tank.

from my experience i've only been hit by Tiamat like that when engaged.

I subbed nin once when krakening him and never took additional damage but did notice my shadows would fall and i wasent pulling hate because i did a full log out everytime i finished and it would still be swinging at the tanks.
