Ya, I know a few on Cerberus that leveled other jobs to beat Maat. Wouldn't you realize that if you can't beat Maat, which is the game's test of your skills, that you should sell all your RDM gear and retire it? Nope! They sell the second job's gear when they get to 70 and keep on truckin' as a RDM.

RDM maat should be easy on any job given proper meds to have enough mp. So please, don't consider that an opposite to a taru having low hp, because not being able to withstand certain attacks isn't the same thing is not preparing properly. kthx

Original rdm maat was level 71. I remember I got passed it but an elvaan rdm at the same time couldn't. Merits didn't exist then though, but I gained .5 elemental skill during the fight and had no staves because an NQ was 500-1mil gil.

As far as I know, mobs in the game give you skill up to your skill's cap at their level. So if you're fighting a Lv70 mob and skilling up a B and a D skill, you'll cease getting skill at the Lv70 cap for B- and D-rated skills.

I was pointing to the fact that my elemental skill wasn't capped when I fought him. It was well known that original rdm maat was level 71 by possessing the spell fire II, which a level 70 rdm has no access to.
