I parse Beseiged a lot just as a way of hammering my parser with the most ridiculous possible input, and Zazarg actually does pretty insane damage, it's usually about double what any other player in the zone is doing.Originally Posted by Nagamaki

Toss him a haste and watch him do even more (and skill up at the same time!).Originally Posted by divisortheory
I'm just wondering why things like enhancing magic would skill faster in Besieged than somewhere else. Its not as if your environment ever mattered for skillups. Just casting protect I on yourself over and over outside your mog house in San d'Oria should give you the same rate of skillup, right? Otherwise, I'm going to skill up summoning magic next Besieged...
Not sure about how Summoning Magic skills (I think with summoning you target yourself, so it probably skills up based on your own level)... but with enhancing/enfeebling/elemental/dark/healing, the amount of skill you gain increases based on what level the target is. So, if you are targeting a level 99 NPC, you are going to skill up a LOT faster than if you target your level 40 self.Originally Posted by Khamsin
Npc are probably considered as npc when you cast spell on them. Cast Dia on a monsters 35 levels above your, and you will get good enfeebling skill up no matter what. Cast cure1 on high level undead with lowbie whm and you get a ton of skillup.
Formula when you uses a spell on another player is different than when you use it against an enemy/npc, and since they are a lot higher than you, you get more skillup.
It's because you're targetting a high level non-player.Originally Posted by Khamsin

It's fun casting haste on Zazarg.. really is sick damage to watch. Got to cheer on the Galka smashing the mobs to bits.
People seem to be keen to 'adopt' a general - I know friends who only want to know about keeping the elvaan alive.
Now I just with the volunteers would stop targetting the freaking bones...
We lost a level 5 undead Besieged last night on Alexander. It was the first time I'd been there since the patch to introduce the new NM's. The mob that seemed to cause the most problem was Lamia no. 9 (could have been 19) I think. Seemed to run around in a cloud of ele's who were wiping out anything in their path.
Fun tho :D
Holy fucking necropost
What the shit? Seriously, when does this come up? Did you do a search for "NotKuno being wrong about Heat Barrier"? Die in a pit of fiery hell, cockbite.Originally Posted by nekoshoonen

Unless it was nerfed like someone mentioned. o.O
Three guesses what I do every Besieged. Besides, he actually has fun doing these- as you can tell when he's the one leading the whole mess.Originally Posted by Septimus
But heck. If you can't skill up magic in Besieged, you're not trying. Especially Healing and Enhancing. It's one of the best reasons in the world to slap Cures on the defender NPC's, Generals included (aside from the fact that they're better at hitting the monsters than I am). And Haste on that Galka is great fun, he kicks ass. Every NPC out there (except the BLM general, mostly) benefits from a speed boost. Buff em all.
And yeah. Spam the heck out of Dispels. Some mobs promptly go into rebuff mode and you can sit there emptying your MP bar while they do nothing but, making them basically helpless. I've literally gotten 16 successful Dispels in a -row- on one Troll- by the time I'd burned off most of his defenses, he'd sat there and recast half of them and I had to keep doing it...of course he wasn't doing much else while it happened.
Just watch the aggro. If it doesn't have hate and/or go into rebuff mode, you may have a pissed mob smacking your RDM into the nearest buildings.
RESIZE YOUR FUCKING AVATAR. CHRIST.Originally Posted by McSpiffy
I can confirm from experience you have to dispel Warm-Up twice. Once for the Evasion bonus, once for the Accuracy bonus. There's a few of the new monster TP abilities that take multiple Dispels to clear off properly.Originally Posted by Priran
