I will wonder if I could have done anything better with my life when I see how much time I spent playing, I will then try to connect with my son, and involve myself more with him (I spend lots of time with him now, but sometimes I feel like I don't spend enough time-he is turning 6 in August, damn he is growing up fast and big lol). Oh yeah, I may also try to travel during any vacations I may take.
About a year ago I said to myself, FFXI is the first and last MMO I will ever play... now i'm playing WoW. Looks like FFXI started a never ending chain of MMOs for me. ; ;

Guild Wars: Factions came out 2 months ago. It is and isn't a MMO... but very popular.
There is a Star Wars MMO... not made by bioware... It's complete crap. Used to be good. It's gone through 3 phases already: Original Game -> Combat Upgrade -> New Game Enhancements.Originally Posted by Correction

Ondori could tell you all about SWG. I personally never played it. The NGE though, from articles I've read, seemed like they were trying to copy WoW after its huge success. What they didn't realize though was that all the people who preferred a simple system of <10 archetypal classes had already left and started playing WoW. The people who were left liked the game the way it was. And established MMOs rarely get a large influx of new players after the first year or so, people are too worried about being unable to catch up.
Anyone have an up to date chart on the active account number of MMORPGs? I'd like to know if FFXI got booted out of its number 2 spot, either by CoH or EQ2.

not sure how the worst fucking game ever made, RuneScape, has a higher market share than FFXI.... regardless, a lot of interesting info on that site.
Is it just me, or is it a bit odd that the chart shows the 360 release had 0 effect on subscribers, when that is obviously false?
if you read his analysis, you'll see that the numbers he has for FFXI subscribership isn't exactly precise. he's going off the old 500K number that SE published way back when.
what I'm more surprised about is that WoW has more subscribers in China (~3.3 million) than NA+EU combined (though they could just lump all of Asia into that number).
He obviously uses the 500k number like the above poster stated, however, I'm inclined to believe that the actual subscriber number is lower than 500k now.
Also, FFXI for the xbox is a slab of shit... pathetic graphics. If new gamers were to read the reviews that the 360 version has been getting, they wouldn't even waste their money. (Basically the reviews have been shit because of the graphics, they manage to say great things about the depth and story though)
It would be interesting to find out how many copies of FFXI 360 have sold so far, and how many have sold to new subscribers and not just gamers that had the PC version already.
I don't know a single player who has actually started up on the XBOX version, it's just people who already played on PC or PS2.
PSOBB lags really bad. I played it once. Also I couldn't bare starting over again. The grind to level 200 when I played on dreamcast was just too much for me to handle mroe than once. Too repetitive.
Only way I'll play another MMO after WoW is if they make Harvest Moon: Online.

If you read forums that noobs frequent more, like GameFaqs, you will see a large amount of new 360 subscribers. You can also find them on the xbox.com forums.Originally Posted by Krandor
Also, on Fenrir, the dunes now have 100+ people on during prime time, a good portion of them having no subjob. Average server population is a lot higher as well.
