And I do agree TsingTao, I really miss Zoldof. I was helping people get coffer keys and I brought Zoldof along, I really hope that they have not abandoned Fellows and have something planned. Would an ENM and an assault be too much to ask for?
Is it possible they just wanted expansion content to be more "durable" for now. There is a lot of stuff I could have soloed easily with my npc, and getting to mamool ja with chocobo would be much quicker and easy.

I think they will add those eventually. They are just waitting for us to get used to those map or something.
Well, I do not blame them for not allowing Fellows into the expansion areas because they are oversaturated as is (Besieged with 700 people half of which are DRG or SMN with pets, and everyone with Fellows), but they have not added any new quests or content for Fellows since December.

One uncapped ENM and one uncapped Assault is all I really want. And maybe a Fellow Merit system or Genkai 4 and 5. Oh, and NPC equipment like belts and capes. And special NPC only food that you can also give to Besieged Generals for extra kick-ass power. But that is all I am asking for, it is not that much.

True. I dont really feel that way since I quit 6 months (a couple of day before they added last npc quest) and came back 2 week after expansion. I just picked up where I left.

But you're right. I hope there will be more for npc. They are really fun to level.

No, ONLY being able to have it for a limited time would be. 4 months to raise, 2 weeks to race? We'll see.

I doubt that they would be so simple as to have the length of time that you keep the chocobo be less than the amount of time that you raise it. They added in Chocobo Raising because a lot of people wanted it, I seriously doubt that they will intentionally shoot themselves in the foot like that.

I think it'll be an option to release it if you want too, otherwise you can keep it until it mates/you get a better egg.

And sea is part of the reason they will not make Chobobo raising suck. People asked to raise chocobos early in the NA release (probably in the JP release too), Square knows that CoP chased a lot of people away from the game. ToAU has drawn many people back to the game, I severely doubt that they would jeopardize all of the good that ToAU has done to their stock options by allowing an idea from the CoP team anywhere near the game now.

How about SE lets us use our NPCs in the expansion areas? Using the bond engine they developed with NPCs to strengthen your chicken familiarity is gay. Being able to use those level 65 NPCs we worked hard on in ToAU areas is worlds cooler.

Go get your beastiality fix somewhere else, I want out NPCs back damnit.
Its quite obvious that the fellowship NPC's were nothing more than a beta test for Puppetmaster and Chocobo raising. The gear and actions of the NPC's were a test run for puppetmaster, and the bond system was a test for chocobo's. The NPC's have served their purpose for SE....I wouldn't be surprised if there are no future updates for them.

    Raising Your Chocobo
    [Basic Concept]
Think of chocobo raising as an upgraded version of gardening. You can raise a chocobo by taking care of it for a minimal amount of time each day over a span of roughly 1-3 months, so even players with little time can enjoy this feature. Your chocobo may come in handy when it is fully grown!

i think if you don show care itll go away after 1 month

I'm not sure about that. Expansion so far has been awfully easy, and most of the content get old really fast.

Yes, it's rewarding (not really more than CoP, just easier to get reward), but how long does it takes to do everything? Mission were taking a couple of hours (and had actually more running around than any CoP mission), no one like besieged anymore, and XP..well, its just xp like before because all the camp are overcrowded. Assault are fun once or twice at time, but meh, it get old fast when you are farming your item. NM wise, only cerberus was added, and it's not really hard. Beside, his drops are on par with CoP wyrm's.

It will depend how much they add every patch, but the lasting appeal didnt last long for me. Progression in CoP was slower, but there is still a lot of stuff I enjoy there. (npc, limbus, sea once in a while, new dynamis)

    Q. After matching two chocobos, to whom will the resulting egg belong?

    A. Both chocobo owners should find themselves pleased with the matchmaking results.
Uh...that didn't answer the question lol

It is possible that chocobos will always lay 2 eggs.

Rule of thumb: SE is lazy.

Chocobos will lay a new item called "??? Basket of Eggs" which you must get appraised by a chocobo stable NPC, and will drop to the treasure pool, consisting of 4 very common, very suckage eggs, and one very god egg for everyone involved to Cast Lots on.

Going through all the trouble to program that would be a little more "sadistic" than "lazy".

But I could totally see the CoP team making the system like that; I swear that they go to work wearing gimp suits.

I think they mean both chocobo owners can watch the matchmaking,um,process, if they are into that sort of kinky stuff, and therefore they will both find themselves pleased by the entertaining show. After that a deathmatch, blood feud, and drama will follow to get the 0 to 1 egg produced

I think if you really have to think of something as a 'test-run-only' for something else, it would be much more likely that DRG, SMN, and BST were the test run for PUP, and not the NPC fellow system. And like people mentioned gardening is probably closer to caring for eggs even if you didn't use the term 'bond' with plants. But all of these things are completely different and valid on their own, and if anything PUP is the thing that's pretty broken atm and looks like a test-run of what it might be later with more attachments etc.

The NPC system is incredibly useful and strong, it lets you solo stuff much harder than you could before, and you can call it 5 times in a battle if you wanted to for 5 full mp bars. Making it level to 75, at least for the healer part, doesn't matter too much, at 65 it already has all the whm spells you can use (cure5, prot4, shell3, haste, dia2, -na and enfeeble spells) except 1 (shell4), higher level would just give you a little more mp.
I definitely wouldn't mind if they raised the cap to 75, but what I really would like more is more job options, missions, and activities like repeatable quest BC battles or ENMs you can duo with it etc.

I'm hoping that the chocobo racing is manuel, and that there are bosses, Diddy Kong racing style. Final Boss: Cactuar Rapido.
