lol epi, I never knew the story, what happened there? You can leave the last part out if you want, I just want to know who and how it got stolen.Originally Posted by epigram

I do infact have 2.8mil on my main, but my main is not involved nor do i want it to be. Unless in the worst case scenario the GM pulls out teh whip of bannzing.Originally Posted by jasmyne
If its just your mule, who cares? Remake another.Originally Posted by Foad
Unless the mule is on a completely separate account from his main that doesn't really help.

This thread is going 4 pages strong though.
Deleting probably makes it look even worse for your friend. And to a GM's eyes it looks intentional. You fucked over your friend, he's going to have a mark on his account or get temp banned regardless. The best thing you can do right now is just accept it, and hope your friend can forgive you. Oh yeah, and don't fucking try this shit again.
It doesn't matter if you return the gil or not, it doesn't matter if you make the person who contacted the GM happy; you broke a contract. To a GM it looks like you tried to scam and you got caught.
"Aioro @ Spicytuna"? Is it some weird language like "Darmok & Jilad @ Tanagra"?Originally Posted by Foad
It's a good thing for everybody that you can't scam people just by involving a 3rd person in it.
I guess what you describe here created a big mess and depending on how this is resolved (and if what people say happened before applies, like gm returning items but not confiscating and returning gil to unsuspecting buyers) more people will be screwed over for just buying an item off AH.
Thinking in those terms it makes more sense that the accounts involved should get additional punishment and temporary or permanent banning (especially if you did it multiple times) so they don't disrupt everyone else. Just think what a mess it would be if everytime you buy anything from AH you have to worry if it was part of some scam at any time in the past and you might just be wasting gil by buying it..
I believe any gil spent on stolen items at the AH is restored. I'm not entirely sure but there is no way that a person can discern if it is stolen or not, and in the case of multiple items where one may be stolen on the AH it is impossible for the buyer to discern if the item they are purchasing is in fact the stolen one before purchase.
So the AH I'm sure is safe, and by all means you have a valid argument to have your gil restored. Now if you just bought from someone shouting in White Gate, I would ensure that the item is in fact not stolen.
Maybe it depends on whether the gil has been wasted say on crafting skillup, maybe SE would be reluctant to just 'generate' gil back out of thin air if that gil was basically destroyed, both to avoid messing with the economy and because I suppose people could try to scam them with a fake colluded scenario like that into minting new gil. Just guessing though. Hopefully this type of situation happens rarely enough that it doesn't really matter.Originally Posted by epigram

Actually Spicytuna got screwed out of an agreement and the GM wouldn't do a damn thing.
Dezz that picture is beyond amazing.
Was it before the change in ffxi rules of conduct? (I think that change where GMs had to start intervening with people intentionally misleading etc was something like 10 months ago?)Originally Posted by Not Kuno
Same question for the pic you posted, Dezzimal, did the GMs intervene? Did the guy get his knife back or was it before that change?
