I called bullshit on that theory for like a year until the 9000 people that:

- Levelled a non-BST 75
- Levelled BST to 37, subbed it and it sucked
- Levelled BST to 75
- Sub their 75BST to their main 75 and watch it work

overwhelmed me, gotta be something to it. It makes absolutely no sense in the game mechanics, but w/e, apparently it works.

Get about a stack of Mismelts (to be safe). When we did it we had RDM/NIN tanking (Kandy :D), then after we built hate, BLMs would nuke with Aero IV, once it flew we used mismelt, sleep and repeat.

When it was sleeping, BLM would nuke the eles, and we had a RDM/BST taking care of Worm adds.

Need lots of BLMs to do it this way. It's cheap but it works :D

In a past LS (Hajimari) we never used mistmelts and only ran out of time once in the ~8-9 attempts I took part in, the rest were all wins.

Idk if I would call mistmelts "essential"...

And I agree that BLM>>>>SMN on this BC. We had RDMs handle the adds and BLM party help kill when sleep resistance got to high.

Also, never noticed a difference in nuke damage when he was in the air or on the ground O.o With maxed merits and ele skill gear I rarely got resisted. Damage is halved yes, but 500-600 damage as often as hate allows is pretty damn good vs a wyrm.

It does, its very strange. You can even verify it with gauge. Someone that has a BST main at 37, sub it and gauge something even/dc at 75, would get a very difficult. Someone with a bst main of 75, sub it so like BLM75/BST37 gauge and would get a "should be able to charm" message.

It is a nice little reward for leveling bst. I have been able to go /bst on every job and completely bypass the dunes and qufim if i want to earning a mediocre 3k an hour solo. But without the lfg time, the party setup time and the ability to log in for 30 mins and play. Infact, I had an easier time as BLM/BST leveling lower levels than I did with BST/WHM. The only shitty thing is no leave before 70 but that can be compensated for with some planning and a little more strategy (aka not windowing out to forums midfight).

I can imagine it would be especially nice for getting links or bad aggro (e.g. a crawler/fly party accidentally grabbing an exoray in CN). A WAR40/BST20 (with his BST actually levelled to 75) could easily charm the IT+ exo, and ... uh... screw his and his party's xp since he can't release it.

We use 2 Nin's, 2 whm, 2 brd, 6 smn for damage, 3 blm and 3 rdm.. With a stack of mistmelts he dies in around 30 min. The rdm mostly sleep the adds, then blm nuke when they resist.. inbetween nuking elementals they free nuke on ouryu...

It doesnt work quite that way. It sort of "caps" at your main level of the job you are using. So a WAR40/BST20(75) would be the rough equivalent of a BST40 charming (probably little less cause of chr).
