I despise the NIN job. I mean, to such a degree that I dreaded getting it fully leveled as a sub for my WAR. As in, I log on in the afternoon after work, and I would say "Fuck. NIN not up to par yet." When my NIN dinged 37, I immediately popped a Warp scroll and GTFO of the Nest. This is the chat log as it appeared about 30 sec prior to the Warp:

Usually im just honest with the pt, unless of course im in the mood to be a dick

when an LS party came into the same zone i told the pt i was in "you guys suck, im switching that pt, later" and left for the other pt which happened to camp right on top of them.

and if its a pt with friends in it, or someone "close" to leveling (at least what they feel is close) or a shell pt... or a shell member randomly invited me to a pt and then 5min later said "ok lets gather at promy-mea" then i make sure im standing next to at least one member of the pt, d/c, log back in just long enough to do /say wtf??? and maybe get a new invite from them, then dc again and dont come back...

I just go with the honest approach, normally I try to be nice to people and just say "sorry this party is just not working out, I can get a rep if you like but I will be leaving soon"; if the people in party suck or just one person, I would sometimes try to talk to the other people into agreeing to either kick the suckass people, or if the ass is the party leader, I convince everyone to leave while a rep is on the way. When all else fails, I just will say "this exp sucks, not going to waste my time, good luck" and just disband. I am used to 6k+ per hour for any party 50-70, any party 70-75 I expect 10k+, and for merits 12k+/hr if any of the parties I am in does not meet that criteria then is a waste of time and I will leave, I hate slow exp and will not stand for it when I try my best all the time, I expect the same from everyone else in the party.

While we're talking about bad pt etiquette, another thing I really hate is when some anon person without a /seacom sends you a tell out of the blue that's just "Party?" or something to that effect. In the good old days people used to say what jobs were in the pt, and where they planned to xp. It's so easy to do, yet so few people do it anymore.

I used to tell people what was in the party, but it's hard to get started that way. Usually I start an exp party if there are good jobs seeking, which means getting those good jobs first. If you tell a BRD there is no one else in the party yet, they're gonna say no. If you get 4 others before inviting the BRD, they're taken by the time you go to invite them. I always take anon off to invite though and I always tell them the level range. My typical party invite looks like this:

or in the case of a merit party:

(Hello!)~merit(Party)(Do you need it?)

They both work out quite nicely and I rarely get negative responses. Granted, I often come with 2 BRDs already in the party and only need to invite a DD or two, but still (in merit, anyway).

Along that lines, I logged onto my bard for the first time in a week or two. Immediately I get "Party? Bibiki Bay?" so I ask if everyone has ToAU. "Yes, but we voted for Bibiki Bay".... So lower xp per hour and giving up the chance to earn free IP/gil no refresh, no thanks.

Not even 5 minutes later I GET A BLIND INVITE at 65. I ask what the hell they want, "oh sorry, thought you wanted a party". Decline party invite, wait another 2 minutes, another blind invite from the same person. "oh I thought you wanted to join us".

I've actually used the 7k/h excuse, but I was a bit more lenient and I just let the pt know before I joined that if it didn't make 3k in the first 30 mins, I'd leave (BRDs can do that).
