I recall mid-June being the scheduled time for the next patch, though I'm not particularly sure where I read that.

For one, they'd probably screw it up if they tried to release the entire expansion at the start. Secondly, I'd feel rushed and wouldn't really get to enjoy much of it as people speed through all of it in the name of competition. Then I'd be bored and want to quit, yet can't, like you.

People just assume that SE is going to have bi-monthly patches/updates because they've somewhat followed that pattern in the past... but a quick glance at the Update History on the POL website will show that it's not always the case.

It only makes sense that a wider array of content would be included in the first major update of an expansion pack (hopefully), so it'd take a little longer to get it all in.

....plus, they gotta get everything ready for this year's Summerfest event... gogo.

SE pushed back the date to July because they realized that there weren't any more holidays in June, and we all know how they love to have big updates on days when people have off school and work to actually play all day.

Most people did believe that the update would hit in the next 2 weeks. We were all hoping that we would see a quick yet large update.

The first post COP update came less than a month after the initial release of that expansion. While it was small they fixed some known issues and toldus what those were. They then had an update almost 2 months to the day from that first update and added more content and fixed issues. While we have had little mini "let's fix beseiged" updates since TAU was released, no content has been added, nothing realhas been fixed. The simple fact about TAU has become abundantly clear to me. It wasn't ready, it still isn't ready. Sure what we have is awesome and most of us love it. Yet, its far from as comprehensively complete as COP was when it was released. A single NM, and an HNM at that? I for one don't need the choco raising/racing bs right away. But SE should have been smart enough to give us something small, like af implementation this month. Feed us in small bits and keep us happy yet wanting for more.

    Yeah, probably not.
At fanfest they said (or hinted?) that multiplayer battle areas meant something for more than 6 people, so I got the impression that they meant something like Limbus or Dynamis.

I was under the impression that the major content patches are always scheduled quarterly unless something slips and isn't ready, or something.

There's more 2-month spaces than 3, so most people assume they're all 2 months.

But whatever, if the wait could mean the difference between ToAU Limbus and Chocobo Ranking I don't care.

They've always done their updates right around the same time every year.

In 2004 they had an extra one to make 6, which threw the July update forward a bit to June so they could fit September in. Otherwise it's always been close to:

    Mid-late February
    Mid-late April
    Mid July
    Sometime in October
    Early December

Which seems to be exactly what they're doing again this year.

Fixed, for both of us. Although I imagine the swimsuits might be a slightly different size.

Are we forgetting how many server maintenances happened the 2 weeks leading into CoP, and the many weeks after CoP? We've hardly seen that this time round.

Also i'm over the moon that there's no NM in ToaU zones aside from Cerb, I hope they keep it that way. Last thing I wanna see is Fexxhi and Mhhhhok camping ToaU NMs to add to their collection.

Unless I dont know about them, is Creberus the only NM (non quest NM) that we got with this expac? As soon as CoP came out it added many NM in its new areas as well as old.

NM's are overrated. More instanced BC's ala Ouryu/Bahamut#2 with decent drops this time around? yes please! (not saying that kunwu ore/synth materials from all the wyrms isn't nice, but it sure as hell isn't a dalmatica >.>)

Do you post just to see your count go up?

Anyway I've never heard of anyone actually consider quest pops to be "NM"s but whatever.
