    Vent help

I'll be breif, Mac Ventrillo client does not support GSM 6.10 codec(the standard), it asks for something called Speex. Now I guess it's easy to change but our LS leeches off of someone elses server so it can't be fixed. Does anyone know of an emulater anywhere that will trick my mac client into thinking our server is on Speex or is that just plain impossible?

    Download TeamSpeex ( http://savvy.nl/beta/TeamSpeex-1.0beta-r406.dmg )

and it should install the speex codec for you.

It's a problum Server side, the server needs to be on that codec for the mac version, but, because we leech, it can't be fixed. I need a way to get my mac to work with GSM codec via a emulator or something.

you should be able to configure your client to use a specific codec, that's what I'm trying to tell you.

Download teamspeex and it will install the speex codec on to your mac (i could not find a stand a lone pack for mac) and in your ventrillo settings configure it to use that codec.

Just tried that stuff, dosen't seem to work, here is the exact error message...

"This version of the Mac client requires that the server be configured for the Speex codec, but the server you just connected to uses the GSM 6.10 codec.

Inbound and Outbound voice comm will not function."

Macs can't use the GSM codec
hence the original question, is it possible to emulate it?

nope and your original question made it sound like you needed the codec.
