not aimed at you at all, but a lot of rangers who think that rangers can't farm just think that because they've never needed too. strange, isn't it

and yea i know you fish+cook. and i have a cook100 toon so I know just how profitable that can be (read: very lucrative)

If you don't want an obvious answer, don't ask such a stupid question. I mean, come on. You really think there are magical mobs in some magical zone that drop KS more than any others?

    Aydeewa+Chigoe

50xp each at lvl 75 and only about 1000 hp. You can find rooms full of chigoes in many parts of aydeewa. 1 series 4 nuke = 1 dead chigoe. Melees should be able to clear them easily as well although you may accidently kill it with crit. You can get 5-10 ks in an hour doing this

mobs that are highly offensive but easily killable usually are Kseal magnets. On my BST, Bombs were the ones that dropped the most, chiggoes are good too, now imps.

I just beat up on Robber Crabs in one of the back areas of Kuftal where no one xps, takes less than a minute to kill with my monk, and my NPC keeps me alive easily with Haste and Cure, and the occasional skillchain makes it go even faster.

yeah i hear especially prepatch this was a problem, but i dunno. most of the rangers i know know are not first-job rangers surely enough.

seeing as how you just finished <insert whatever craft you just got to 100> i think its time for you to take up fishing.

Seconded... that uncapped fishing skill makes his crafts box look gimped.

Eventhough it is a fairly stupid thread, I found that leveling my NPC was a fairly nice way to get Kindreds. Every sessions with Zoldof (25-30 mobs depending on bond) I normally got 2 or 3 kindred seals.

Just yet another perk to having an Adventuring Fellow.

For some reason I just end up with 20-30 K seals every week.

The best part about ToAU? I don't have to deal with players + NPC's taking xp mobs! /hurray. It was really getting bad there right up until the ToAU release. I don't really blame the player base, as they were just leveling in areas that they knew and that had friendly mobs to xp on, but it still sucked.

ironically, a lot of the career rangers i've known on asura magically never seem to farm--they spend all their time...spending.
I never farm. way back when I mined and then crafted the ores for extra gil. Now, I don't even need to do that. Once you're 50ish in any craft, you can make steady money pretty easily. At least, that's been my experience smithing.

RNG make very poor farmers of mobs, though. I mean, ammo isn't free. And if you're not using ammo or utsusemi, I hope you brought lots of hHP+ gear, b/c my lvl 58 BLU evades more than my 75 rng >.<

As someone said though, I think a lot of the hardcore gilbuying RNG have quit. Me ... i was always just one of those cheap rng that stuck to xbow b/c I didn't have millions to throw away. I could craft my own ammo easily at half AH price. I was happy w/ bolts, since other DD love acid bolts, and holy bolt added affect is pretty nice as elv. In retrospect, it would have been really nice to lvl with an E. Bow, though

But you should blame the player base for that. When I leveled with Zoldof I rarely ever saw other people and almost never saw parties. Mobs with abilities that are annoying for a party are not quite as bad when they are too weak and easy prey, you can go to places that would not be safe to camp when you are too high for the mobs to aggro you. I had a lot of fun in Xarcabard leveling on Gigases, parties never go there because that area is a death trap with links and aggro. (If I would get a link, I would just giggle as the mob bounced helplessly off of my stoneskin and paralyzed itself from ice spikes.)

It would be nice if they had special areas designed specifically for people to level with their Fellows in ToAU zones, like an assault area that you use for the duration of your Fellow. Make the mobs with lowered stats so that that can be soloed with an NPC but still get full XP per kill, I would be a happy camper.
