Breath actually goes to each of the feet, it simply does less damage on the corners of his feet. You can easily have mages & melees stand underneath a wing to the side of its feet and attack from there without them getting hit by breath. In the end only the tanks on each of the feet, and anyone who happens to be TA'ing behind them at the time will get hit by breath, and only the weak version of it.

If you kite Faf, you can get out of range of flail !

Umm Vanquished stole fafnir from us.... Not Nora unless your refering to another Fafnir Nora stole....

What I remember Fafnir doing was this..... We pull to wall sleep > We get on feet > we start Fighting > PLD dies > Try to sleep we sleep > Fafnir wakes > Either here it did a complete 180 or next sleep we were trying to do / when it went yellow and vanquished took.

Now quick facts.
1. No block aid was on. So 180 could of been caused by outside allaince cures (Or someone in my ls since this was 1st fafnir didn't bother to listen when I said don't move fafnir stand on feet only etc :P)

2. We had 1 PLD/war tank and that was all.

3. 1st Fafnir / any kind of wyrm experince thinking 2nd fafnir camp we won claim.

4. Vanquished took with 80+% of our allaince unweak we had 13 members and 1 whm + 1 rdm that got to aery just after fafnir was stolen. On 3rd sleep went yellow.....

5. No Fafnir Stratigy was posted in private forums till day after.

6. Just for the hell of it how you like my picture I posted with stratigy made with ms paint? :P

We didn't kite fafnir @ all it only did a 180 and somehow never flailed.

Oh yeah last night Gil sellers stole Ulli from Vanquished @ 11% lol.....

Armand, seriously, you were in a lot deeper than that. I watched the same 5-6 people die a ton of times. Fafnir ran around the room repeatedly, chasing random members of your mages who thought it was a good idea to heal off his feet. It was nothing short of a miracle that you were not flailed multiple times.

80% of your ally was weak, not the other way around. You were dead. I don't like Vanquish much either, but you had lost the fight.

I saw it running down towards the little path from Aery > Zitah. Maybe they were trying to zone Fafnir? 8)


Sucks that thier 60 Mnk didn't give Faf enough TP for flail to occur. It must've spun about 10 times by my count.

Dont really need to give tp to Fafnir with its TP regen. Despite common belief, you barely see any difference with a bunch of melee on it, versus a bunch of blm. You just need to have someone behind with hate (when faf attack with its tail).

This is correct, and is why I am so dumbfounded as to why Fafnir didn't flail after taking laps around the Aery lol.

Speaking of Fafnir/Nidhogg, has anyone noticed weird AE behavior since the last big update? I know wings and such were set to not hit people outside the ally fighting it. But like, when we fought Nid recently, Hurricane Wing would often only hit people in the tank party. There were numerous times where wing simply did not hit any mages, yet a few times that it did...pretty weird.

For us, wings was hitting everyone the aery. There was no glitch or anything.


About fafnir, he wont spike flail until someone with hate stand right behind it. When everyone is running like headless chicken in different direction, fafnir will simply run after them and won't have the occasion to do its tail attack.


Ironically, the best way to kill Limbus's fafnir is to kite it when you haev 3 blm I love that fight.

Speaking of kiting, I remember Armand on his BLM/WHM TT trying to kite Ulli with a BRD/WHM. They failed and me and Cet DOT killed. Armand went on to cry saying he had people coming to help him and so on. Oh such good times. Since Faffy can be kited can a RDM/NIN DOT kill it? lolz.

You have to kite him around the Ebon Panels while a WAR SA's on his tail with Fortitude Axe.
