Most I've seen, from anyone on my server, is like 1900 T4 with double thunder, dont remember what day I've never seen anyone break 2k. Now, you say you can do 600 more dmg than that ?? I dont think the extra 1 MAB from Genie Weskit, the 1 extra MAB from Zenith+1 and the 10 extra MAB from Sorc Ring (at the expense of 5 INT) will cover 600 dmg.

But hey, those people who did do that kinda dmg, dropped dead before their dmg even showed in the log. So, I'm saying, a 1.9k MB will get someone instantly killed....this isnt left to my LS, this is in general, from NA's, to those morons Osiris, to the JP's. I guess your LS is better than my entire server, right ??.

I totally agree, all of these factors need to be accounted for when you fight fafhogg or any mob. People just tend to remember their latest and greatest kill and seem to selectively filter out the rest. In this case though, I don't think Roranora is saying he pulls that kinda damage all the time. Just like I never said "THF is the best DD on HNMs" (lol). People interpret as they see fit I suppose.

No reason to ever learn effeciency for a 4am nidhogg with 9 people because those don't happen.

There's certainly a time and place for efficiency, hell we had to down Nidh just a few days ago with 14 with only 4 DDs (me on THF, a WAR and 2 BLMs). It wasn't pretty but we got the job done. But when you do hit that 7:30pm camp and you've overflowed into 2 full alliances and double lightning/lightningsday come around, why not push the limits and have a little fun?

2k+ T4 really isn't anything special, just the luck of the draw every 8 hours. We had a KB on iceday and let our BLMs have some fun. Pulling 2k+ Blizzaga3's MBs with only iceday in their favor. Stuff like this is possible if you put people in the position to make it happen. Pointing your finger and saying "Unpossible!" certainly isn't going to get it done.

Well, whether consciously or subconsciously, we're affected by what our peers do. Each server is really just its own little fishbowl, but since the fish have like-minded goals and interests, all servers tend to develop in parallel. These forums are a way to see outside of your fishbowl to get a greater perspective and the knowledge and experiences shared on these forums is pretty valuable most of the time.....

Scan through that thread Nynja linked, its obvious there's a discrepancy between the roles THF play on Fairy vs. his server. He subs /whm, laughs at the notion a THF should be in a PT with a BRD, doesn't think a THF should be hasted, should TP in hecatomb etc and is basically there just to be a TH bitch. Its obvious that his THF is gonna suck ass on any HNM. That's his experience, its clearly not for many others.

Same applies to the damage that many have seen on Fafhogg. If the BLMs on your server play it safe, don't bother to carry 2 pieces of AF2, don't bother to farm jellyfish for 8 different Obis, don't feel the need to merit elemental potency, don't bother to hit 2 buttons to survive a little bit longer etc., then that's going to be the extent of your experience.

AF2 legs is like a 70 dmg increase.
Rairin Obi doesnt STACK with the Lightning Day + Lightning Weather, it makes those random bonuses not random, so thats a 30% dmg increase.

This is the max damage setup (not best setup):
Weapon: Jupiters +15%
Head: Rep Circut (nation in your control)
Body: Genie Weskit
Back: Prism Cape
Neck: U pendant (<50% MP)
Hands: AF2 Hands (assuming you're bursting) +5% dmg
Waist: Rairin Obi (assuming double weather/day) +30% dmg
Legs: AF2 pants (assuming Lightning Day) +5%dmg
Feet: Yigit
Rings: Tamas/Sorcerer's latent
Earrings: Novio/Moldavite
Throwing: Tathlum

That's +55% to your nuke from bonuses, but it's not really that much because you lose what you would have in that slot normally (zenith mitts, mahatma slops, p rope). I did not include the new +5% MB bonus earring because I've heard conflicting thoughts that it may not stack with AF2 gloves. If it does not, you could use it and Zmitts+1 for one more MAB, or stay with moldavite and AF2 gloves. If it does stack, take off Moldavite for it.

2200 would be easily obtainable...though I seriously doubt you'd live through more that 2 of them. I personally prefer -enmity unless he's at 10% or less, then it's full out nuking. I also think Prism cape is trash, and rarely if ever lug around rep circut.

Giving me one day.. this is all I could scrounge up for you so far today, but I only used 1/3 of the bonus you can get in DA, and it's still higher than Nynja has ever seen apparently. Fafnir popped near the end of iceday; I waited till Lightningday, and this is with just the day bonus, THERE WAS NO WEATHER <callRaineer>. I had one etude, as you can see, up at the time of the cast. No it wasn't soul voiced. As for effeciency, we had 11 people and still plenty of safety to dick around and set HP and MP latents. No I do not tank better than a PLD.

Room for -ideal- improvement:
Novio Earring (gaining 2 MAB)
Yigit Crackows (gaining 2 MAB)
Sorcerer's Belt (gaining 6 INT, losing guaranteed 10% in this case)
Food (highest INT food is 7? I'm too lazy to eat food on BLM)
Double lightning weather (gaining 20% bonus)

Outside of my own equipment, I could have had COR rolls, or Diabolos' MAB buff, which is pretty small. Breaking 2k isn't that fucking hard.

He is okay. The tank will run in front of him and uses cover. Or the pld tank is so awesome he will manage to get hate back every time in the next 2 sec.

I can't say I'm the best blm out there, but I still have more than decent gear and almost all my merit now. I really don't see the point of nuking like this can be efficient, unless you're finishin its last 10%-15%.

Oh, and melee still outdamage you on Faf. 2000dmg is sweet, but it doesnt matter if you lose at the end of the fight.

Kaylia, you either have some badass melee or shitty BLMs or a combo of both.. we had one SAM and one WAR; neither were close to BLMs, granted they were gimped and held back in order to make this SC. And I never ever claimed this to be efficient, but Fafnir is a joke of a fight and this is what we do when we can for fun and Nynja either thinks can't be done or his linkshell can't afford this for the safety of the fight. Later in the fight Bohoho and I died and still no melee came close to BLM damage. If a BLM death = kicked from ally or wipe to Fafnir in your linkshell, I pity you. Bio II is on the whole fight anyway; who sleeps Fafnir? It's not Bahamut; we didn't get an entire alliance Gigaflared; we crushed the melee in total; we won the fight without any risk at all; we got raise 3s; and we did more damage in a single nuke on the next Fafnir pop than has ever been on whatever server Nynja runs.
