The main problem is not having the elemental debuffs without /BLM, lol.

Regardless, if you can break the int teir, that's about all that matters. But who cares, both rdm and blm are efficient enough to win--we're talking a difference of maybe 1-2 minutes. If you are too gimped to hit the max teir, then take a shorter smoke break between runs and you've made up the time.

Personally I think RDM edges out a second BLM just with Haste alone, the nukes are only 1-2 damage less, not sure about the debufs (I assume it's the same as blms?)

RDMs also get refresh and convert. When I go with blm, they spend quite some time resting.

Regardless, it's a "who cares" kind of thing.

Are Bio II and the elemental debuffs fixed damage/tick? From what I saw at my last Excavation Duty, Bio II duration seemed to cap at 2 minutes, and elementals at 1.5 minutes but I don't know about whether the DoT depends on dark/elemental/INT respectively.
    I remember reading that every 25INT = 1dmg on elemental dot, but never really bothered to test <_<;
    Close, it's 20.

However, RDM and BLM INT aren't that far apart if the RDM's gear doesn't suck.. BLM will widen the gap with 5 INT merits of course (RDM main meriting INT needs to be shot), but my base hume 75RDM/BLM INT = 70 and hume 75BLM/WHM = 69. It's not a huge difference. Not alot of INT that a BLM can wear that a RDM can't (if any?)
Holy shit I learned something on BG forums

    That's not right either.

    Proof:
    70 base int 3dmg
    80 int 3dmg
    90 int 3dmg
    95 int 3dmg
    100 int 4dmg

Clearly it is neither 20 nor 25 because I had to add 30 int before the damage changed.

    edit, job change:

    57 int 2dmg
    60 int 2dmg
    65 int 2dmg
    69 int 2dmg
    70 int 3dmg

So, as long as you can rech 130INT then it's no difference? Sounds good.

Is elemental dot damage completely independant of the target's INT? And the formula looks like floor((int+20)/30)

Yes it is, the formula I've seen (that I've spent an hour googling for >< ), is set depending on your own INT and that's it. The way I remember it caps at 6 DoT at 140 but the site was mostly JP and I can't find the damn thing now.

Unless I'm retarded that would mean 60 int should do 3dmg but it doesn't.

Naw, just tried with 131 int. Still 4dmg. I can't get much more than that w/o a brd so I'm just gonna assume it caps there. Maybe it increases at 140 or 150 but those are pretty unrealistic numbers imo.

That works for the lower numbers, at least.

So you need 100 INT to get 4hp/tick on an elemental dot ?

    Between 96 and 100, probably 100.
