GMDave is a fake GM, some guy wrote a blog describing days of GMs..its funny. I don't have the link anymore, but meh.
It wouldn't draw in. We had people sac pull the hell out of him over the course of a pretty long time (a few hours) running all over Al'Teaui, and he didn't draw anyone in once.Originally Posted by Cylo
There are limits on the range of party hate though. I really doubt he'd run all around Al'Teaui, I'm almost certain the party hate only extends to the people in the immediate area around them. Just like if you wipe to Darters in Aery while a person in the Alliance is afk at the entrance to Aery, the Darters don't go all the way to that person at the zone, they only kill people in the immediate area. I don't see why sea wouldn't be any difference, especially when it's a LOT bigger.

Pretty hit and miss, but kind of funny. Best to start from the beginning if you're going to bother. You'll miss a lot of the jokes otherwise.
While AV links hate with alliance, the linked hate still has a range limit - if you are in an alliance with hate but you are at the entrance to palace for example, you dont have hate.
then stagger the party through the zone so they are within range to get hate but far enough to pull him a resonable distance
Certain NM's can draw you in from incredible distances. Example King V was able to draw me in while I was near Rabao ( I had been holding King V for a while and was changing jobs when replacements arrived ) and Tiamat can draw us in from quite a ways away aswell.

It's apparent that he did, hence his contribution to the discussion of how far NMs can actually draw you in. Some had said NMs couldn't draw you in that far, others said they could. This is his experience on the matter.Originally Posted by Asy
I saw it more of him/her skimming, then just tossing out what was already stated.Originally Posted by Khamsin
No, he didn't. KV is like no other mob in the game, since his specific TP moves DRAW-IN all people in your alliance, regardless of hate. Nothing else does that, so comparing it to normal draw-in of a roaming HNM (Tiamat) is pointless. Tiamat will only draw you in if you're out of her spawn area and have CURRENT maximum hate on her list. But he'd know all of this is he read anything in this thread.Originally Posted by Asy
CoP Minotaur does something similar.Originally Posted by Lockecole
No, CoP Minotaur behaves like Diabolos, it draws in the entire alliance if someone is out of his normal patrol area. Minotaur has a huge aggro range for some reason.Originally Posted by Khamsin
KV has full alliance draw-in as a TP move. No other mob does that.

To the "freshly claimed AV will be tame" theory, I can assure you that is not the case. I was the one doing the sac pulls on AV for about 4 hours. We had 3 other level 1 characters there engaging AV (and dying instantly) to stall him from walking back too fast while I got raised and waited for flee timer to reset.
There were several occasions where I would pull an AV with zero hate on anyone and he would immediately use TP moves or spells on me.
Apparently, AV doesn't have that large of a hate-link radius. We tried it.Originally Posted by Khamsin
He would also use a AoE jump on you, which was pretty hilareus.
Go mess with Waraxe Beak, back when i first started i ran into him with a few friends, needless to say we tried to zone to castle O, i almost made it, but he drew me in from his spawn point once killing a friend with more hate, thats a large distance
edit: tho from most accounts AV doesnt do this, only when he is truly unable to reach the place you are at
Oh yeah, and I know a few already posted saying it was false... But just to reinforce, I'm also certain the "tamed AV" theory is incorrect.
On one of our first attempts, after recovering from a wipe we went to go pull him from his spawn to have another attempt... Before anyone died, or even before AV had a chance to swing or hit someone, it used Meikyo Shisui right off the bat and wiped almost everyone with the Jump attack for 300-500 damage AoE and Stun three times in a row. It was pretty sad.![]()
Yes, the AV dormant theory is definitely false. We've had him open with the triple Eagle Eye Shot and such, and he's randomly 2hr'd on the level 1 sac pullers as soon as they aggroed him.
the way to beat this thing is clearly to let it beat on u till it gets tired and then just sits there and takes it
anyone notice jailer of hope?lol sometimes he never does anything the whole fight.. sometimes he spams thundaga the whole fight
ya gonna try this strat on sunday.. poping JOL 3 times and i am sure AV will pop atleast once
one question i dunno if anyone has answer
in this AV fight.. before it stopped doing this.. did it use any 2hrs more then once? maybe SE changed it to only be able to use each once every 2hrs?
