i like how he scribbled the ToD's but in the quoted post they are still the same![]()
Never fought AV or seen it, but does it even use Astral Flow?
Hope its gone -_- its already changed but stupid photobucket won't let it go lol....
i gave up -_- oh well today only tod only anyway since everyone tired except me![]()
Big congratulations on your kill.
I'm not a big fan of team up but it's safe to agree that AV is unlike any other boss in the game.
Like a few other people said, it is pretty depressing though. It's depressing if you really have to team up and get 50-70+ people to actually take it down
Therein lies my next thought: I wonder if it was the sheer numbers that you had that allowed you to kill it or if killing the Ix's and the Jailers actually did something.
We all know that SE could be bullshitting when they say "We efectivelly tested it with an 18 man kill" but obviously we all know that 18 people can't go pop all the Ix and jailers while holding AV at the same time. Unless SE's original plan was "Oh Sea is going to be crowded so chances are when people are fighting AV there will be other people popping Ix's and Jailers so everything will be springtime and flowers."
If all of this is the case, then I'm a sad panda too.
(Hot drops by the way)
Very impressive o;
JoL was definatly nerfed. The above statement is correct, because the only LS to beat it with its regen had about 80 BLMs rotated in an out of the alliance warping back to Tav when they were out of MP to change jobs and run back fast. Then they nerfed it to nothingness.Originally Posted by Suiram

Also in the same interview, he said the next FF expansion will be focused around low level content aswell as solo play.
So i'd take anything that comes from his mouth with a grain.. err, with a slab of salt.
ya that's why I said they could be bullshitting :DOriginally Posted by Lordwafik
Statement still stand though that it sucks if the only way to actually kill it is to team up. Someone mentioned earlier in this thread that AV could be like a dynamis mob in that killing certain NMs weakens the main NM but can NMs in different zones affect each other?
Very interesting. Nice to hear that the strat is finally figured out. I wouldn't say that SE failed on the way to kill AV, just that after 3min AV depops instead of giving players more time to disable it.
The kill is positive news, although given what little was actually posted on the "strategy" used to block his 2hour use, it sounds more like he stopped because of a glitch or because of something else entirely than because of anything to do with killing a mysteriously unspecific set of trigger NMs in another zone.
Until this is repeated and works 100% (without the whole "the JPs went and did some voodoo stuff in there" aspect), I wouldn't consider AV quite solved.
Still reminds me of what happened in WoW.
The last boss in AQ40 up until a month or two ago was completely and utterly invulnerable at a certain point in the fight. Magically after one maintenance (nearing the release of a new raid zone, consequently) C'Thun was somehow beatable, and around 15-20 guilds beat him that night. This was after months of people being so frustrated that they quit the game entirely, seeing none of their strategies working.
I think AV is like that nowadays, and people are only beating him via flukes. Sounds the same for the pre-nerf Love too.
Anyways, congrats on the kill, big accomplishment.
I expected, and do expect these kinds of locks on NMs in MMOs. They dont want ppl slaughtering an entire expansion pack/patch/update so fast.Originally Posted by AriaEminence
Anyways to the topic at hand. I for one think it is very very cool that you need so many people to kill this. This is the ultimate boss apparently and you need the highest level of team work to defeat it if the theory is a true.
I know a lot of ppl have the feeling "We want to be able to beat it with just our LS, we want the drops for ourselves, we want the title for ourselves, we dont want to haul 50+ ppl to kill one thing!" And initially I was feeling the same way. Well if that the case then this boss isnt for that mindset and you should just stick to wyrms and let AV depop when u kill JoL. If this theory and strategy holds true it represents the highest tiered boss in the game imo. Think about for a second how differnent this is compared to the usual, throw 18-30 ppl at it and find a strat. This is a truely unique and apparently very cleverly designed NM. Like I said, all this is based on te assumption that the theory is true. If it is I stand on my opnion. If not. F**** u SE for putting a retarded undefeatable NM in the game!!!! ^____^
Kalyna/Vobent, did you happen to catch around what time he stopped using 2hours?
My linkshell happened to kill JoTemp around 2:30-2:45ish AM EST, and AV was up during that time. Around what time were the other NMs killed inside?
CoP has been out for how long now, almost 2 years? The jailors have been around for 8+ months? How is that so fast? AV should be beatable, but difficult, and not designed around a stupid ass glitch that MIGHT proc.Originally Posted by Tekki
let me edit that. They dont want you to beat the stuff before the newest patch/expansion is out
Well, after about an hour of it being up I went to do 3 assaults, came back there were about 15-20 peopl in al'taeui. The rest were in the gran place/garden doing that stuff. JP and NA..so not really JP voodooOriginally Posted by Nagamaki
He stopped 2-hring at about the time the final pull was pulled.
I like how everyone is saying "nowai that killing the NM's stops his 2hrs, that's just gay"
.........have you all forgetten what team wrote this?????? It seems exactly in line with that
And why can't this link back to the NM, who cares if it's in another zone? When all the other NM's have 1 2hr and that 2hr disappears when you kill it, what are you guys missing here...seems pretty straightforward.
How Astral Flow was locked, since it's physically impossible to pop JoLove with AV up and how Mighty Strikes, PD, Familiar, and Mijin were sealed if they only did inside jailers/ix.Originally Posted by Raineer

This sort of comment is why people are doubting this strategy being what actually blocked his 2hours. If killing the other NMs locked his 2hours, why did it continue to use them "a bit more" before stopping? Did it use each one a single time and then was no longer able to reuse them? Did they kill every single NM or only the aerns, or only tier 1s, or...? Maybe the people posting were confused and are making things sound fishier than they actually were, but going exclusively by what's been posted, it sounds pretty damn unclear.Originally Posted by Kalyna
