It would make sense to have your login once with your POL ID/password just to link your "community account" to your "FFXI account." But after that, you should be able to change your login/pass. Considering how unforgiving SE is when it comes to people hacking your account... sending out your POL ID/pass should be kept at a minimum.

I think the LS must be established by a sack before it will allow you to join more communities...

There were only 50 some communities total server-wide last I checked.

nvm, figured it out. They don't have a direct link as far as I can tell, but there's a page for selecting/establishing linkshells.

Joined the community I only have a pearl for, but wasn't a link to get to the point where I could establish one I have a sack for. I just messed with the address to get to where I wanted to.
