Maybe if it were a little less rare or expensive I would give that desynth theory a try, but I don't think I am up for it right now.

Same body piece the elvaan npc that chats with you when you roll a new character in sandy as well.

It seems to have the most Resist vs Fire in the body slot that a pld can wear. In fact probably the most +resist on a lot of elements in that slot.

I could see this being used in multile +resist setups like you typically see for tanks vs wryms or bahamut v2. Any mob that is one element oriented for that matter.

Being able to blink away physical dmg and reduce magic/breath dmg to low double digits feel almost like cheating.

First off, All known goblin food/items use all 8 slots, incluing one strange piece. I have significant doubts of the 5-piece recepie that you listed.

Also, I have a few thoughts:

Has anybody figured out recepies for this:
    http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/6029

or is Goblin Drink the only gobbie product that remains unknown.

Also, I was looking at the AH the other day, and I saw Poseidon's Ring. Probably the stupidest, most illogical ring that I have ever seen. 50/50 Enchantment for calling a Water Spirit... At the cost of a lot of Orichalcum.

    http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/5932

"Who would ever go to the time/effort to synth one of these?" I thought, Then my mind wandered back to the "I'm Thirsty" scrawled writings, and the person who popped it refusing to let anybody SEE him pop it. Maybe it was because he had a Water Spirit out? or didn't want anybody to see *uses a Poseidon's Ring*...

Aqueous Orichalcum Ingot has no use other than this silly ring, maybe either it has some hidden use or can cause a trigger.

    This is random speculation.

Just to play devil's advocate, expensive but pointless synths see to be kind of a trademark of SE. About half the things you can make out of Behemoth leather come to mind... (I actually exped with a war once who used Unicorn Legs ><)

Wild onion popped into my mind as a vegetable used for the synth a while ago since they drop off of goblins

Goblin bread uses 7, and, with the exception of Chocomilk, no drink uses more than 5 items (and the only ones that use 5 are Cursed Beverage and San d'Orian Tea, the rest use 4 or less). Personally, I believe that the recipe will use 5 or less items. However, I also believe it'll be synthable with items that were in game when the drink was introduced, ruling out Moval. water, and therefore I don't think that recipe is legit. However, the fact that it DOESN'T use 8 items definately doesn't mean it's fake; quite the opposite in my opinion.

How about the fact that they don't have a crystal listed or screenshots showing they tried it for proof that it was just pulled out of someone's ass.

EDIT: Glad people starting to post in this depressing-ass thread again, even if it is just more "Hey some guy in my LS said..."

I know he just said Movalpolis, but just tried the above with all the different crystals and different amounts of onion and got nothing. Are there any recipes that require more than 1 water? Would save time during trial and error lol

Really wish I knew how to get my hands on some movalpolis water =\

Is there even any proof the drink was introduced in 2004, or at any time in particular? It's position in the .dat files does not seem to give a strong correlation to when it was added. A while back I posted the item numbers of other items in the .dats and they did not bear much of a correlation at all. For example, Rock Salt and Distilled Water had rather high item numbers for items that have, I'm sure, been in the game for a lot longer than most things. Not to mention, some HQ foods are several hundred spaces before their NQ counterparts, while an ingredient may be far after the completed product in the .dat files.

I'm not sure how exact it is, but every nonarmor/weapon item added in July05 is together in POLUtils and there are references to goblin drink on JP messageboards from '04. There is close to 0 doubt in my mind that it was added well before CoP.

In my searching I found a post on some board dated Jan. 2004, JP forums on cooking, some people trying to figure out the recipe to Goblin Drink and Goblin Stirfry.

If you try Posiden's Ring why now try a Water Spirit Pact also? >.>

Although I doubt Posiden's Ring would work, most GS enhanced items seem pretty stuipid/worthless IMO.
