There exists a ring on Asura. Enki has it, I think, with close to full charges. I think they've used it once or twice to test its effects. Krandor said he would see about testing it. I will stab him tonight and see if they did anything.Originally Posted by divisortheory
Is it possible he spawns just once a game year during a particular month? Turns out Noble Mold spawns that way. Maybe the scrawled writing is irrelivant.
wait wait how does noble mold spawn, cause i want that daggon hatOriginally Posted by Tordall

Another example of CoP team sadism. Anything with a single rare/ex drop that pops once in a three day window every two weeks should have a 100% drop rate.Originally Posted by Raineer
It's bad enough to have NMs that will pretty much only be seen, let alone killed, by people that happen upon them randomly while passing through or exploring. Most other NMs can be camped by sitting in one spot waiting for them to appear in front of them, with enough patience.
Just to reiterate this, since there was some confusion about the Goblin Drink item being on ffxi.somepage.com at some point. This item was in the data files for a very long time, definitely long before the July 2005 patch when all those NMs were added. At ffxi.somepage.com, we have kept records of the changes made by the patches, from September 2004 on (the patch for CoP), and it wasn't in any of those. To the best of my knowledge, this item was never listed on our site.Originally Posted by Bagel
Before POLUtils was available, I used to use moogle.yappo.jp for the info on what was updated, each patch. While the Goblin Drink is listed there, a cursory check of the update lists doesn't show it in those lists, so it's probably from 2003 or before.
Since this drink can now be obtained from the Hostel, we'll have to get it in for that; otherwise, it would be yet another item that is in the data files, but hasn't been verified as actually exist in the game.
As long as you're here, Cuer, I've always wondered why somepage seems to be missing a lot of certain areas of the game. e.g. I can't find dynamis, limbus, or assault mobs, certain mission BC mobs, or even mobs in Grand Palace or Ru'hmet. Are these purposefully left out?
The drink was definitely searchable in the Somepage database (I did it myself on numerous occasions) and was deleted.Originally Posted by Cuer

Well, it's certainly possible. When we first started, I tried hard not to allow any items in the database that I wasn't certain were already in the game. Since the Goblin Drink is that old, it's likely that it was put in when I data on it somewhere, then removed when I couldn't verify that it was indeed in the game. But again, that goes to the bigger point, which was that it was in the data files long, long before the NM came out, so there's not necessarily any connection between the two. If I have time, I'll try to dig in the archives and see when/if that item was added and removed, but I doubt it would tell us very much that isn't known.Originally Posted by Jeryhn
At this point in time, we put in all new items that appear to be fully finished, when they are updated/added in the data files, regardless of whether or not we can verify that they are indeed in the game. It's still not an precise science; even in the April patch, there were partially finished items in the data files; since they didn't look complete, we didn't put them into the database. But since there are mysteries like this to solve, we tend to now err on the side of putting items in now, regardless of their use or lack thereof.
Most of those (Limbus, Assault, etc.) are because of the rigidity of the content presentation system on the website. It was designed more for speed and stability than it was flexibility, which makes it a bit difficult to add in new systems as they are added to the game. We could put in all the Limbus and Assault mobs tomorrow, for example, but without the corresponding info on their use, it would be rather pointless.Originally Posted by Khamsin
As for mobs in areas like Dynamis and Lumoria, that's more due to a lack of time than anything... I really hope to get those in RSN.
We've recently been expanding the back-end to allow greater flexibility in what we can add, and how it's managed. That should eventually let us move much more rapidly to add new types of activities, when they are put into the game (knock on wood!)

Well, speed and stability is good. Don't ever let it turn into alla or KI where it takes 30 seconds to a minute to load each page. lolOriginally Posted by Cuer

ok, so I searched all 19 pages for the item Im bringing to the table here. Now, jus speculation an sorry for those that test this and it doesn work, but Panacea isn on any of the lists.
Pancea is, er, was a greek goddess known as the goddess of healing... lycanthrope, also known as a disease that leads to werewolfism. Pancea could cure diseases.
Well, its jus a shot in the dark. But its a lead, of sorts... GL for those that test it, an hopefully we crack this damn riddle that SEs put out for us.
Things that caught my attention:
Loam:Dark soil with a high concentration of decaying plant matter.
Rye flower:This rye flour has a deep, dark color.
Deathball:A large mushroom closely resembling a puffball.(Also used in
Goblin Mushpot)
Mushrooms(any):these are used in almost ever goblin food
Posion Flower:Flour made from poison oats.
Goblin Grease:A Goblin Alchemist has brewed this lubricant from a secret recipe.(Prior to PUP item synths, this had no other use except marksman oil,it could have been secretly extended for other use?)
Seeds(any):alotta the sites talk about Seeds,so i put that on here
Distilled Water (maybe used to make a the rare item
Movapolis Water
Im focusing more on items that are damaging to the user ie posion pots etc
Saw a list of items on a website, mainly mentioning Beladona/Nightshade
these arent in the game but other items in relation to these are Cherries and Rye
im pretty sure some of these are in the recipe for Goblin Drink,or in the recipe for another item that makes goblin Drink,
Water/Dark Crystals and still not sure weather or not its cooking or alchemy, just bored lol and looked some of this crap up
did that really require the use of colored lettersOriginally Posted by Xzerios
