I apologize if a lot of this is redundant, but I just figured I'd throw my 2 cents out there.
The only in-game evidence we have is that when you examine the Scrawled Writing, it says "Me Thirsty." Checking the DAT files near this message I found:
Code:
Take this. When Moblins and demons go to war, use it for the glory of the children of Promathia!
You cannot obtain the ≺Marker: 7F8101≻≺Marker: 7F8201≻≺Item Parameter 0≻. Come back again after sorting your inventory.
Something is written on the surface of the earth here. It looks like it says, “Me thirsty.”
A chill runs down your spine!
Nothing happens...
Hspeed, A! Hstrength, A!
Hteamwork, A+! Hlooks...F-!
Hyou fail! Ahahahaha!
Rwarrr! Sho-ow yourself! I know you're the-ere.
Dra-aw your weapon and face your fate like a true wa-arrior!
Now, the upper lines seem to indicate they are the end of some sort of Quest/Mission with a reward item.
Has it been confirmed where those other dialog lines come from? Do they occur from spawning/fighting something else, or are those Wolfman dialog?
What other Dialog patterns have we seen with spawned NMs?
1. Bubbly Bernie. Do you even get a message when you check the ???, or do you learn to trade a Quus by talking to a NPC in bastok?
2. Bomb Queen. I don't even know what in-game clues tell you what to use for this. But the pop items for the NM drop in the same zone as the NM itself.
3. Hakutaku. When Hakutaku Cluster synth was added, was it given out by the guild NPC as if it was a normal recipe? Does examining the ??? clearly indicate that the Cluster is the required pop item?
4. Fomor Codex. Tied to Fomor Hate (which has many dialog lines to indicate your current hate level)
5. Crafted Pop. CoP NMs (Kurrea, Shen, etc) which have several lines of dialog associated with them.
6. Obvious Pop. Sea NMs ("bring...memories...ghrah" or whatever)
The only thing I can think of is trading a large quantity of waters to the Scrawled Writing. I figure somebody would have already tried this?
Aside from that, the only other thing I can think of is consuming drinks in front of the writing somehow triggering him to spawn. Anyone tried this?
Sorry if this wasn't very helpful, was just trying to brainstorm.
