Kaylia, out of curiosity, have you tried trading the Goblin Cup and Movalpolos Water to the Scrawled Writing at the same time?
Yes, with fingernail sack, and a bunch of other "liquid" i had in my inventory.
Only thing that wasnt tried is those aquarium I think, and they were added same patch.
Damn. I wasn't sure if the cup and water had been traded both at the same time and wanted to give it a shot later this week.
I think a friend of mine still has a freshwater and/or saltwater aquarium; if she does, I'll borrow them to try.
I continue to attempt at finding out how to pop this NM.Originally Posted by Priran

To me, it just seems like everyone is caught up in their own daily dealings in the game, with Sky, Sea, Dynamis, CoP, ToAU, etc, that they seem to have forgetten the feeling of finding an adventure. Maybe its just because I've been playing for a long time, and this keeps me interested, or the fact that the NM might not exist at all.
I do it, because it is something that everyone else has given up on. And I kind of wish that it is never found out, because then the excitement that I feel, when I search for new and different ways to pop this NM... will be gone![]()
For me, it's a quest to recover my sanity and pride, after having both robbed by a goddamn scrawled writting.I do not do it for the item so much, as I do it for the adventure~
Me thirsty.
Okay. I think it's time for me to post.
I'm Nagah and am from Midgardsormr. Someone had posted in one of the other threads that Kegsay from my server supposedly knew information for the recipe for Goblin Drink. I was able to finally send him a tell today.
While he is like many other people that "knows" the recipe, in that he wouldn't say anything. I stayed as nice as I could. He gave me an unintentional hint that, honestly, I can't figure out what part was the hint. He just said that he had already said too much.
>> {Hello!}?
Kegsay>> {Hello!}
>> Is it true you know the recipe for Goblin Drink?
Kegsay>> possibly
>> Could you give me any hints? :D
*silence*
>> or are you going to ignore me now?
Kegsay>> well how can I reply to that lol
>> lol..ok..
>> Well, I'll put it this way then, I've been trying different combinations of everything for the recipe for 3 months and cant come up with it...but im sure it's something simple im missing
Kegsay>> uh huh
>> so, if i ask you two ingredients for if they're in it, could you just tell me yes or no?
Kegsay>> well, you know, I kinda, cant tell you but you know its been done.
Kegsay>> sorry =/ been sworn not to ^^;
>> well, hrm... at least let me know if movalpolos water is in it since it's the one thing I cant get? :D
Kegsay>> well... if you cant come up with the combo and youve been trying for this long, then you must be missing
Kegsay>> something wouldnt you say?
>> I would say so..
>> the only ingredient i can come up with that im messing up on is the water
>> cus i've tried variations of vegetables, shrooms, and even that weird rumor for fingernail sack
>> tho, i swear it should be something as simple as yagudo drink too XD
Kegsay>> well Yagudo Drink, Goblin Drink, both beastmen names
>> oh oh... can you tell me if it's 4 7 or 8 ingredients? maybe something that simple
Kegsay>> I've already said too much, im sorry ^^;
After that his replies get even more scarce and even more cryptic.. So maybe someone else can get a gest of which part he was saying he gave too much info on? I mean, seriously, I thought I was giving a lot more info than he was.
--------------
Like I said to him tho, I've been trying for this recipe for 3 months. Someone posted on alla trade skill forums and it's intrigued me since. I have a 94 cooking mule I keep trying things on. So if anyone does want me to try any recipe, I'll do my best. (Though, I accidentally threw away my fingernail sack and really dont want to spend 4 more hours on a chocobo to get another.) Goblin Diggers are bitches. >.>
Yagudo Drinks are made with Yagudo Cherries.
Goblin Mushpot:

Maybe a connection here? Anyone tried this recipe with a Water Crystal instead of Fire? I'll try when i get home :D
If that doesn't work maybe try with Movalpolos Water instead of Distilled water?
I tried many recipe "yagudo drink" style, but none worked. I would be rich otherwise!
I didnt try the one with mushpot tho, cause its not a vegetable >_>
Look at the ingredients though. Instead of making the mushpot with Fire Crystal, try it with a Water Crystal. >.>

I can't guarantee I didn't skip any crystal, but usually, when I tried with dark/water/fire/earth crystal for every recipeOriginally Posted by NimrodofLakshmi
Dark for stuff like yagudo drink
Fire for tea and the like
Water for juice
Earth for the "strained vegetable" part.
Doubt it's ice, light, thunder or wind.
Yeah. I tried the Yag drink style, too, with combinations of shrooms, vegetables and veggies+shrooms.Originally Posted by Kaylia
I'm still looking at the theory that there's a "weird item" and someone had posted something about a Goblin "cook" in the last thread. The only thing I could come up with was "Goblin Butcher." While Butcher is obviously not a full fledge cook, it's still along the same lines. Anyways, I decided to try Animal Glue in the recipe, but yielded nothing.
I couldn't figure out tho if the "clue" he gave me was that movalpolos water is used or that it's a yagudo style recipe. I haven't been able to find anyone on midgard with movalpolos water though, to test anything from it, and I honestly cant remember the last time movalpolos was even owned by anyone.
Maybe I'll stop working on it for a few days to regain my sanity again. What's sad is I don't even need the gorget... I just wanna figure it out.
Looking through the food items the only ingredient with goblin in the name is crying mustard.
The only other item I can find that isnt a food and relates to goblin cooking is the fingernail sack.
Maybe making the "rot tea" with mustard is the goblin drink?
Well if it's yagudo drink style then It would be a simple recipe then wouldn't it? Yaguo Drink uses Yagudo Cherries so let's assume that we need an Item with "Goblin" Prefix... http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/6029 no recipe posted but could this have anything to do with it? seeing as a traditional Stir-fry involves cooked vegetables along with meat.
Note: searched for Goblin on allakhazam... this game up from auto-collection... http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=8632 O_O
Goblin Stew. http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/images/ic...mport/4465.png
Description: A simple, traditional Goblin stew.
I don't know exactly what it is or if it's been used before but if it's not the goblin drink then that could be it.[/img]
I can't access Allah at work ( internet filters.. yay.. )
Would you mind posting what the item you found for "Goblin" was, when you did the search?
Edited my post.
Well, "Yagudo Drink style" could be anything.
a) Both ingredients in Yagudo Drink are available from an NPC, logged, or gardened.
b) One ingredient is specific to the Yagudo, and the other is a more general ingredient.
c) Prior to the introduction of the AoE foods during CoP, both ingredients were used for little else than Yagudo Drink. One was used in a salad, the other was used only in the Drink.
If you decide to use the (a) style, think of what items are available from HELM or digging in areas near/associated with the Bastok/Movalpolos area. e.g. Coral Fungus and Sage are available in Rolanberry, Puffballs are available in Pashhow, etc.
If you decide to use the (b) style, think of what items are associated with Goblins (e.g. Crying Mustard or Wild Onion), and then a more general vegetable less specific to Goblins.
If you decide to use the (c) style, think of vegetables that are used in very few recipes. e.g. Deathball, pre-expansion Eggplant, Ogre Pumpkin, Puffball, Rarab Tail, etc.
