Hmmm heres a few stupid thoughts.

The bridge that is surrounded by scrawled writings. Perhaps these are like the THF AF quest in garlaige citadel. You have to examine the writings in a certain order then check the final one to pop the nm.

Perhaps the pop item is just molovopolas water but you have to have high enough Goblin/Moblin hate to pop it. Similar to Swift Belt NM.

Googling Goblin Drink many recipes come up.
The two most common ones are Soda and gelatin (movalopolas water bubbles)
And apple cider and orage peel liquer (dcayed apples and oranes)

Only one Scrawled Writing is popped. It never depops or moves because the NM is never popped. However, it only pops in the tunnels surrounding that small lake in Oldton Movalpolis.

There's nothing to suggest this. And with all the leveling people used to do in Bibiki Bay, and killing of mobs people did in Movalpolis, I'm more than sure that there's enough Goblin "hate" to go around.

None of which are or are made of vegetables. Which is the description on the drink itself.

If there was a moblin hate system, there would most likely be different messages from the Scrawled Writings like at the Stale Drafts. ("You have goose bumps" "Your heart is racing." "Your common sense tells you to run as quickly as possible.") And considering that I killed tons and tons of Moblins to get Zoldof into his harness and Galka panties set, I should be able to pop it by walking near the zone.

In the spirit of full disclosure then, could you add that several of us (Priran, Merryck, and myself) have used the Goblin Drink and found no hMP effect?

Specifically, I tried it as a RDM20/WHM10 to ensure that I had no traits that would effect MP such as Auto-Refresh or Clear Mind. I'm an Elvaan, so my MP at that level when naked is 137, and when I rest, the first tick is at 12. After finding no hMP effect on my first try, I did several tests, which I will summarize here:

My first test was at the 10% mark. I cured and buffed myself until I had 14 MP, which is actually 10.2%. I healed with no food/drink effect to confirm that my base rate was 12 mp/tick. I let myself heal to 53 (12, 13, 14) and then brought my MP back down to 14. I consumed the Goblin Drink and rested again. Sure enough, my base rate was again 12 and I let myself heal to 53 (12, 13, 14).

Before I go on, I should mention that before each subsequent test, I had an attendant use Brown Magic on me to remove the Goblin Drink effect.

My second test was at 123 MP, or approximately 90%. This test could only measure one tick, but I thought it might be worth it. I repeated my steps above and my results were duplicated.

My third test was at 109 MP, or approximately 80%. Again, 12 mp/tick to start for both, with a similar pattern. My remaining tests on those lines were at 75%, 70%, 60%, 50%, 40%, 30%, 25%, and 20%. I again found a 12 mp/tick base rate with and without the Goblin Drink.

For my last test, I brought my MP to 10%, rested to about 50%, used the Goblin Drink, rested to about 80%, used Brown Magic, and then rested to full. Each new time I rested, I found the normal progression, starting at 12 mp/tick. Same as always.

What remains to be tested is hMP at 0%, although I can't imagine that it would be any different.

Hopefully that suffices for clinical proof.

    Updated OP.
    Yup Karnack, that does suffice
Before, people merely stated that it did nothing. Bun provided the +1hMP number, no one else refuted that specifically, just stated it did nothing, which to me implied that it was not a test, they just used the item and didn't see a huge spike anywhere.

I'm curious, and I didn't see anyone address this, so I'll ask. Do other temporary foods in Kobka Hostel give you the normal food effect, or do they behave like the Goblin Drink does?

If they don't give an effect, testing the Goblin Drink inside the Hostel is pointless.

Yes, other foods do give an effect. After testing the Goblin Drink, I also had that thought, so I tried another food. Some HQ food that I don't remember the name of. Gave INT+2 (most notable effect).

It is obvious they are making a huge effort to keep it from the rest of the community, so who cares what they said? We should have doubts just because they said it, if anything.

On the other hand, I understand because just about every other avenue has been explored and has led to dead-ends. Every five pages or so, someone comes in and suggests the Goblin's Drink is a stretch and we should try mov water. But, if they would actually read the topic, they'd know people have tried just about everything else there is to try, and that's why folks are trying these things that seem less obvious. Of course, I can somewhat understand, since multiple topics with 50+ pages each is hard to absorb, especially when most of the posts are people trying to be funny.

I can confirm there is no hMP or any other noticeable effect from the Drink. The person who made that post was drunk and probably made a mistake.

Also wanted to add that a strong case against moon phases being factor can be made as well, besides what has already been mentioned. The only basis for thinking it, as far as I can see, is that the mob is called wolfman, and the only reason we know that is because of datamining. I would expect SE to leave us a clue in-game, rather than be expected to datamine and infer from name. So, imo, there is no more grounds for thinking it is has to with moon phases than it does with the Goblin Drink. One idea comes from the first part of his name and the other the last. Same thing.
Perhaps it gives only a Killer or Resist effect.

regarding the goblin hate theory, why not get a party and kill a bunch of gobs, but dont zone out and try trading water to it at night time.

because someone would do it, nothing would happen, and then a bunch of assholes would recommend reasons to it not have been a valid test (IT WASNT FULL MOON/YOU WERENT AT RED HP/YOU DIDNT HAVE AMRITA ACTIVE/YOU WERENT ON PLD) and you could have spent the 2+ hrs trying to find a realistic way to approach goblin drink

The only other one I've tried is Vampire Juice, which does give the same effect in and out of the Hostel.

"A chill runs down your spine."

Has anyone gotten this message, or know if it's even part of the Goblin Wolfman sequence? Is it part of the message you get when you pop the NM?

Edit: Upon further contemplation, I can assume that it's part of the Goblin Wolfman segment, because it comes between "Nothing happens..." and the first line of the Goblin Wolfman .dat. Also, since it comes before "Nothing happens...", I'm assuming it isn't part of the sequence you receive when popping him.

So my question is now narrowed down to:

Has anyone ever gotten that part of the message?

A few more things that don't work:

After spending hours upon hours sporadically checking the Scrawled Markings in hopes of seeing the message "A chill runs down your spine," I feel I can safely state that the message must be part of the popping sequence.

I tried multiple time frames on multiple in-game days to determine whether or not a certain time condition was necessary. So far, there is no evidence pointing to that being true.

At 0:00, 2:00, 6:00, 8:00, 12:00, 16:00, 20:00 and 22:00 of each day, I checked the Scrawled Markings, but never once did I see the message. I also waited for the Full Moon, just to see if perhaps that would spawn the third part of the message. This too proved to be untrue.

This next detail, I'm still pondering. I'm thinking that it is possible to obtain that "A shiver runs down your spine." message somehow, and likely that's the time when you would be able to pop him. After looking up items that could be obtained within Oldton Movapolos, the only one that stuck out as a possible candidate for popping this NM was the Fiend Blood dropped from Stirges. I tried using it at random intervals, and also during the full moon, but neither of those instances proved to be fruitful in any way.

So, it boils down to this. Whether or not I continue my research with this line of thinking depends on the question in my last post. Has anyone at all seen the message, "A chill runs down your spine?"

I'm probably wrong, but don't you get that message when you pop the RSE Sachet mobs, the Aroma Fly/Crawler/Leech, on your race week?
