So based on that, it's pretty safe to assume that the message in question only appears when someone successfully pops the Goblin Wolfman?
Back to the drawing board, then.

i'd bet my hard earned cash that the goblin drink isn't craftable
if i had to guess, i'm betting you get the item somewhere else, or you pop him through another method
just a gut feeling, i mean has an item ever taken this much time to figure out the recipe for, i mean this game has been out for over 3 years.. stuff like coming up with a recipe probably wouldn't be this difficult, just my opinion
I found out what Goblin Drink does! It is infact hMP. It's a really weird hMP though. But I do have screenshots to prove.

Obviously, I ran out of MP. I, also, as you can see from screenshots, did not have Clear Mind trait. It is hMP. First tick, no hMP, second tick 1hMP, third 2hMP, fourth 3hMP, fifth 4hMP. As you can see, I cant tell you what the sixth tick does. But it is indeed hMP food. Why it would make a goblin pop? No clue, but it does have an effect. (Sorry, was getting tired of people saying it did nothing. Food cant just do nothing, it unbalances the whole game.)
Ninja edit:
And how long was boiled fish head out before the recipe was figured out? This item has only been out a year. It's very possible that it's hard to figure out the recipe. I've tried SEVERAL hundreds of combinations to try and figure out the recipe. It IS that difficult to figure out. I guarantee, someone will just fall into the recipe one day. I just hope that person is me, and at least I'd feel my hard work and research meant something.just a gut feeling, i mean has an item ever taken this much time to figure out the recipe for, i mean this game has been out for over 3 years.. stuff like coming up with a recipe probably wouldn't be this difficult, just my opinion
Why don't you tell us how to pop the NM so people stop trying to find a way (even if it may sound stupid) to do it?Originally Posted by Zalius

Dammit.. Why doesn't anyone tell me these things.... I specifically asked several people how much hMP you got and everyone said 12.. and I said "are you sure".. Thanks for letting me down easy... But god dammit..
(tested without and was like dammit..i look like an idiot now...)
i have no ideaAnd how long was boiled fish head out before the recipe was figured out?
like i said, it's just a gut feeling
i check this thread on a daily basis, ever since page 1 because i've really wanted to know how to get this item, not for myself, but just because it's so intriguing that a mob is so hard to pop
i can't remember the last time people had so much trouble just figuring out how to pop a force-spawn NM
60 pages of thorough detective work, with a list of hundreds of items used in failed synth recipes... i just had a gut feeling that i'd bet money on that this item isn't crafted, or might not even been the item used to pop this NM
Basically, the way hMP works is this:Originally Posted by Nagah
First tick: 12mp
Second tick: 13mp
Third tick: 14mp
... and so on. It accumulates, adding 1hMP for each tick that you're healing. So, all in all, the Goblin Drink, excluding the possibility of Killer traits or a hidden Resist trait, does nothing.
Question along those lines: Is there any other food that gives a Killer effect? I'm trying to look it up, but my ability to determine appropriate keywords fails.
Yeah. Figured I didn't test something when you said I don't want to make her cry.. Thanks tho.. At least you weren't a jerk about it.Originally Posted by Merryck

I'm sure I could find more, but that just gives samples...
Okay, so here's my newest thought.
When used in the Hostel, the Goblin Drink gives the symbol for a food effect. The description says that it's a mix of strained vegetables. Besides the obvious name, Goblin Drink, is there anything to suggest that it shouldn't be crafted in the way a food would be crafted, as opposed to the way a drink would be?
Well, it depends on your definition of "drink" according to the game. There is Yagudo Drink and of course juices that all give the refresh symbol. There're also Teas (San d'Orian Tea, Windurstian Tea) that give a food effect. Of course, all of these are included in "Drinks" on the AH. So honestly, there's no reason to believe it can't be crafted.Originally Posted by Merryck
The only things we know is that it has vegetables in it of course. There are only 3 crystals used for any of "Drinks," fire (food effect), water (regen/refresh) and dark (yagudo drink only). I'm sure you've seen the fake recipes. So I won't even bother covering those.
I'd invite you, if you have the gil, to test out recipes. Even if you have a Lv 1 cooking, you'll know if you got a true combination by the "you're not high enough" message. I kinda used a good 500k one weekend trying to come up with combinations. That doesn't count the 50k here and there that I pick up new ingredients to try. So yeah, if you don't have the gil to spend, I don't think it's a wise choice to start it up. (Especially since I don't even need the neck piece...*grumble*)
So, tea gives the food symbol, as well? Sorry to anyone who reads this if that was mentioned before, but if it was, I must have interpreted it as an insignificant detail at the time. ^^;Originally Posted by Nagah
Edit: In terms of gil. I don't have it at the moment, but I get into little "money-making" moods from time to time, so when my next one hits, maybe I'll burn a little extra experimenting on recipes.
It's like reading the thread over again![]()
Nice to see this thread is still going - I just wish I could contribute more.
But, for those who say that we should have already discovered the recipe since hundreds have been tried, it's probably not that easy. If you had a list of like, 40 possible veggie drink ingredients, and decided a dark crystal was the right crystal, and that there were 8 ingredients in the recipe...it's something like 4 million possible combinations. So. (I tried a program to calculate lists of the combos, but it crashed notepad. :/)
If we could figure out any effects from goblin drink, it might give a bigger clue to the ingredients...How did people discover the effects of stuff like sushi? I guess in battle. It sucks that you can't take the Goblin Drink effect with you out of the hostel.
Yup and I notice yet again you're still contributing nothing!Originally Posted by Demosthenes11

just read the description. absorb it.
it's water**.
from movalpolos*.
the MOBLIN* is THIRSTY**.
now you may be thinking right now, "pri, why are you the first person to ever think of this?"
according to my sources, movalpolos water can only be bought from regional merchants with control over the movalpolos region. and this never happens. so movalpolos water stands to be the rarest item in the game, even more rare than ninurta's sash.
