Yeah. Ginger Cookie, for example, gives Plantoid Killer. Acorn Cookie gives Aquan Killer. Many steaks give Lizard Killer. There's several.

Also, curry gives Resist Sleep, Goblin Mushpot gives both Resist Poison and Resist Blind, and Newt Flambe gives Resist Virus and Resist Curse.

Garlic Cracker gives Undead Killer and Resist Blind.

Lots of food give Resist and Killer effects.

    from movalpolos*.

    the MOBLIN* is THIRSTY**.

now you may be thinking right now, "pri, why are you the first person to ever think of this?"

according to my sources, movalpolos water can only be bought from regional merchants with control over the movalpolos region. and this never happens. so movalpolos water stands to be the rarest item in the game, even more rare than ninurta's sash.
I would just like to add to this incredible discovery, that I think since it is a "Wolfman" it is probably only able to be popped during full moon. Maybe new moon too, but that wouldn't make much sense, however this is SE =^_^=

I don't believe the Goblin Drink is crafted.

If you saw a Goblin Drink in a bazaar tomorrow, how much would you pay? We've been stalking this thing forever. If it were 1m would you buy it? 5m? 10m? Hard to say until you actually see it in a bazaar and let it sink in that... omg, that really is a Goblin Drink - and consider the price on it.
Some people would buy it, pop Wolfman, flood their harddrive with screenshots and post all the information they could grab on topics such as this. And some people would buy it, pop Wolfman and get Parade Gorget, and prance around until two-thirds of all the servers knew he had one - but smugly refuse to say how.

In other words, the market for Goblin Drinks would be astronomical without competition (and we know that there's still no sellers for the past year, the market is ripe for it.) So if crafted, why would the players who made the few drinks that have obviously been made, stop? They could become the biggest crackdealers in the game. It's what I'd do.

(Though to be honest, if it's a drop then the exact same thing could be said about farming/bazaaring them. *poof*)

I'd RMT my grandmother for it, then desynth it and trade the materials to AV to lock his 2hours.

Goblin drink wouldn't worth much. People want to solve the mystery, just for the sake to solve it. I doubt the reward is that great, I don't see S-E giving Refresh to PLDs so easily, it will have some weird trick, like the TP necklace...

Which is why everyone is so incredibly baffled as to why this thing is impossible to get. If people DID know how to get it, they'd be making incredible bank off of it. Not that we'd give up trying to figure out how to make the pop item anyways. But I haven't seen Movalpolos under any Countries control since i started playing FFXI. Ever. But i thought they already tried Movalpolos Water... Who knows, we need to get our asses to Newton Movalpolos and rape every god damn gob in sight.

I think this could be the biggest clue that the original source or crafter - Fall - really does work for SE. If word got back to his bosses that he'd let slip a recipe he shouldn't have known, he'd probably get in trouble. I can't see any other reason why someone would withhold the drinks - even if they kept the recipe secret they could still sell them for profit. But if the recipe's supposed to be unknown and the item started popping up in bazaars...

I don't know, does anyone know a GM they could ask? Like, what if the item isn't supposed to be obtainable yet or something? It's just bizarre that there's ONE server where these items keep showing up, and that Fall's possibly conencted to SE.

I cant name any names of who I know or have talked too, but from GMs that are also players, they are just as confused as we are. I know your average NA GM has no general access to the JPN dev team. Unless this guy is from JPN, and has a friend who is on the inside, I highly doubt he got any info from work.

I think the missing information to solve this lies on what were the conditions of the pop. I dont think anyone even knows if the pop was done when a nation might have had control of the area. It could as simple as trading Mov Water under a certian condition that we cant test during beastman control of Mov.

Maybe we need to get some exp parties or exp forces to over ride the deaths of the miners in the area?

Yeah it will take some people willing to kill some moblins to make Movolopolis under control of some nation and not beastmen controlled. I don't think I have ever seen it not beastmen controlled.

Here's the compilation of info of the patch that the Parade Gorget and Goblin Wolfman were released on, for reference:
    http://ffxi.somepage.com/news/157

You will find that this is the same patch that released a lot of other quirky NMs, such as Shikigami Weapon, the Sea Jailers, Swift Belt NMs, Rose Garden, Taisaijin, etc. Basically a patch full of NMs with various, and some unique for the time, pop conditions.
    Yes it is a few pages back, and I’m terribly sorry if this information was posted. Now, I bolded the above NMs because the both have something in common – SE’s (very very very very very very very sick) sense of humor. If you go to Ffxiclopedia and look up Taisaijin and Shikigami weapon (As Lordmagnus and I did one night at 3 AM), you will find two background histories;

    Shikigami Weapon:
Fazasher Death Weapon was a fictional NM which was believed to exist from late 2003 through mid-2004 before people started to realize it was fake. "Fazasher Death Weapon" was "reported" to have to have been added in the update on October 21, 2003 and was first listed on Japanese FFXI websites, reported along with several other NMs (all of which were real), though no pictures, not even photoshopped ones, ever turned up. Like Shikigami Weapon, it resided in Ro'Maeve and was an Evil Weapon. It was supposed to spawn once every 168 days, 180 days, or 150 days Earth time (depending on account). This part of the story most likely emerged sometime in 2004 as people who waited for "Fazasher Death Weapon" to pop never saw it appear. At the time, it was reported to be defeatable by an alliance of 18 players at LV70 (the level cap was not raised to LV75 until December 2003). As time wore on and "Fazasher Death Weapon" was still not seen, some claimed, to keep the myth alive, that it spawned with an innate Invisible effect, explaining why people would never see it for such a long time. Eventually, "Fazasher Death Weapon" got debunked when no such mob turned up in the .dat files for Ro'Maeve, nor any of its supposed drops. The spawn time, 150~180 days, also eventually clued people in this was a false account. Every time there is an update or server maintenence, spawn times are reset. Players camping NMs and HNMs have noticed this. These spawn-resetting changes to the server are made far more frequently than 150 days, meaning if "Fazasher Death Weapon" only popped after 150+ Earth days, it would never appear.
    Taisaijin:
At the time Refresh was introduced, the methods and locations for obtaining the scroll were still largely unknown. As the story goes, before the whereabouts of Refresh became known, one Japanese Red Mage claimed that he had gotten a Refresh scroll as a drop from a Taisai in Ranguemont Pass. The rumor eventually spread, and for a period of time, Taisais were being farmed constantly for the scroll. The truth is, that Red Mage lied. Refresh is not, nor has it ever been, a drop from Taisai. That Red Mage had discovered one of the actual methods for obtaining Refresh and proceeded to monopolize that source, profitting from the advantage since there was no competition for it and everyone was deceived into farming Taisais.
This incident would give rise to an in-joke among Japanese players. When another player asked where to find a newly introduced item that no one yet knew how to obtain, a common phrase became: "I found it on a Taisai".
Taisaijin drops a Scroll of Refresh and Spelunker's Hat, a piece of equipment called the "Anti-Optical Hat" due to it having completely opposite stats to the Optical Hat, which also drops from a Hecteyes mob. Square-Enix added the Refresh drop as irony, where, if players do not kill Taisai for a long enough time, Taisaijin, a mob which does actually drop the scroll, will appear. Spelunker's Hat was likely added as a nod to the fact that people were farming Taisais, which had no useful item, meaning Taisaijin has nothing a player would want (besides as a trophy item, though the title itself, Bye-Bye, Taisai, can be considered a trophy).
Both of these NMs were based on rumors that players had going around in the past. Somebody mentioned in an earlier page (I’m sorry, I’d rather not go back and find the exact quote) that people have been discussing Goblin Drink as a possible pop item for a very long time. Perhaps SE overheard this and thought “Hey…lets make an NM that sounds EXACTLY like it should be popped by a goblin drink.” So they did so. Goblin Wolfman whose pop location says “Me Thirsty.” For a while people discussed this to no avail (with the exception, of course, of those guys on Ifrit.)
I imagine after the Hostel was open and people began receiving temp Goblin Drinks, interest in the parade gorget was renewed.
SE saw that interest was dwindling, so they opened the Hostel for the reason of the bolded text. Now, everyone is discussing it again.

I do not believe that goblin drink is the pop item, and I use Taisaijin as my reasoning. SE is very familiar with irony, and decided to flex that particular muscle. I believe that instead of trading a drink, one should trade something that would dry the throat. As well, as somebody also stated earlier, 'why the hell would he attack you for quenching his thirst?' I’m sure this idea was given earlier, but I’m merely restating it and providing more backup for its truth.

I have a few ideas, but I have to wait for my PS2 to reinstall before I can test them out. Of course, its very likely that I'm overthinking this a couple shots and it really is as simple as using the Movalpolis Water. I guess its as good as anything right now, though.

In a zam thread last week about the Parade Gorget, a poster from Leviathan claimed to have seen one or more on that server.

EDIT: Poster is GanondolfWizard. Here's the thread.

What world are you living in?
You're talking about an item added a year ago. 365 days isn't "a few" and if I discovered the recipe and started bazaaring these today, competition wouldn't just spring up from nowhere.
"Sheeny has a great idea to sell these goblin drinks for profit, I've known the recipe all this time but didn't eeeeeever bother to sell any... until now, and I'll undercut her."

Prices need competition to drop. In the past YEAR there's been no single seller across the multitude of servers, much less two or more to price-war.

lol.. I remember when the Fazasher Death Weapon rumor was going around, though I never had really made the connection to Shikigami Weapon when it was introduced.

As for why the Goblin Wolfman would attack you for quenching its thirst, think about 90% of the pop items for NMs like this. Most of the time, you're baiting it out. e.g. honey for the hercules beetle, lettuce for habetrot, carrots for the coneys, soup for Kurrea, etc. There are a small handful of NMs that are unsatisfied with the item you use, such as the Goblin Collector who is unimpressed with your bag, though intuitively you wouldn't think leaving a premium bag for the collector would piss him off. There are very few NMs you pop by pissing them off, such as the swift belt NMs who are not only pissed that you've been killing their friends but also because you're giving them a book to remind them of their tragic history.

Most NMs, though, you lure out with something they would be potentially interested in. The fact that they aggro you on pop is most likely just part of the game mechanic so you don't pop them and let them sit around claimed to hold forever (or worse, let someone else besides you claim them before you can, as used to be possible in the past before popped mobs spawned claimed).
