    Just tried the following -

    Wearing Coif + Examining
Wearing Coif + Trading x1 Mov. Water
Wearing Coif + Trading x12 Mov. Water
Wearing Coif + Drinking Water + Examining
Wearing Coif + Drinking Water + Trading x1 Mov. Water

Also tried all of the above with Sneak and with Deodorize, along with a bunch of other random crap. Coif was the NQ type. Got nothing.

If you want to test any other ideas, Odin actually has like 4 stacks of Mov. Water on AH for 20k so I can help run any more crazy ideas with water.

there was the whole idea of maybe giving him something that made him thirsty instead as a way to piss him off and get him to attack you. Maybe try trading him Kazham peppers or Burning peppers. I can't think of any other spicy foods right now but something like that may work. Any foods that may work?

I apoligize for not posting a remark on this sooner. I got a new job and have been in the process of moving for the past few weeks. I was reading the posts I missed since I wanted to be current (something more people should do) and I wish I had been able to comment on this sooner.

The Goblin Drink indeed provides +1 hmp in my tests. I tested twice but the results were clear. I kept track of amount of mp recovered per tick. I don't have the results with me since I am at work, and I wouldn't be able to get them even if I do still have them. They would be packed away if they haven't been thrown away. It is an easy enough test to duplicate in the time one has to rent the hostel.

In the spirit of full disclosure then, could you add that several of us (Priran, Merryck, and myself) have used the Goblin Drink and found no hMP effect?

Specifically, I tried it as a RDM20/WHM10 to ensure that I had no traits that would effect MP such as Auto-Refresh or Clear Mind. I'm an Elvaan, so my MP at that level when naked is 137, and when I rest, the first tick is at 12. After finding no hMP effect on my first try, I did several tests, which I will summarize here:

My first test was at the 10% mark. I cured and buffed myself until I had 14 MP, which is actually 10.2%. I healed with no food/drink effect to confirm that my base rate was 12 mp/tick. I let myself heal to 53 (12, 13, 14) and then brought my MP back down to 14. I consumed the Goblin Drink and rested again. Sure enough, my base rate was again 12 and I let myself heal to 53 (12, 13, 14).

Before I go on, I should mention that before each subsequent test, I had an attendant use Brown Magic on me to remove the Goblin Drink effect.

My second test was at 123 MP, or approximately 90%. This test could only measure one tick, but I thought it might be worth it. I repeated my steps above and my results were duplicated.

My third test was at 109 MP, or approximately 80%. Again, 12 mp/tick to start for both, with a similar pattern. My remaining tests on those lines were at 75%, 70%, 60%, 50%, 40%, 30%, 25%, and 20%. I again found a 12 mp/tick base rate with and without the Goblin Drink.

For my last test, I brought my MP to 10%, rested to about 50%, used the Goblin Drink, rested to about 80%, used Brown Magic, and then rested to full. Each new time I rested, I found the normal progression, starting at 12 mp/tick. Same as always.

What remains to be tested is hMP at 0%, although I can't imagine that it would be any different.

Hopefully that suffices for clinical proof.

You're not that retard that didn't know it goes 12-13-14-15-etc are you?

Edit: In case it wasn't perfectly clear that Goblin Drink does NOT give fucking hMP,

Yeah I'm just gonna link this, it's fucking gigantic even by my standards

    no -.-

actually it may not be exactly +1hmp. It may need more testing. I don't have any way to actually test it until I get my computer unpacked.

I tested it as a 73 taru pld/whm. The time between healing ticks is enough time to recover 4 mp from auto refresh. At each healing tick one just needs to subtract 4 mp due to that effect.

The effect I noticed from Goblin drink was interesting. This is just an example so assume them to be my actual results. The pattern is similar to what I saw in my results.

+1 hmp ought to provide an additional +10 mp in 10 ticks. Goblin drink provided an average of less than +1hmp. In my example goblin drink gave +0.8 hmp

Perhaps its a +% bonus to clear mind. It needs more testing.

i think you fucked up the test by using a job that has auto refresh. you need to pick a better job to test with.

You tested this as a PLD? Talk about getting skewed results.

If you think it effects Clear Mind, why not test it with your main job as WHM?

Auto refresh doesn't skew the results, its easy to account for. I only just now theorized that it gives a % bonus to +hmp. I'll have to ask someone else to test it since I'm unable to at this time. It might be a while before I get my computer up and running.

Of course it is. That doesn't mean I'll trust you to account for it.

If you're going to perform a test, perform the test correctly please. That means control any and all variables.

No. Just stop. You tested hMP on a job with Auto-Refresh and you're going to call others wrong, when I just rented the Hostel and proved your shit false.

You should have specified this above, instead of "confirming" that it's an +hMP effect. This requires further testing to ensure that Auto-Refresh and Clear Mind weren't playing a role. Further, if it is a bonus to either Clear Mind or Auto-Refresh, that would require testing of each trait independent of the other.

All in all, you've shown that it might augment the effect of one or both of those job traits, but have neither proved nor confirmed that it's an +hMP effect.

The scope of my tests were to determine whether it had any effects at all. In my tests it was determined that there was a +hmp effect. It was significant enough that it could not be attributed to error from auto refresh or clear mind. Essentially there was enough extra mp to make +1hmp believeable, but not +2.

This was tested to determine what ingredients were needed if goblin drink were to be crafted. The accuracy of the test didn't matter as long as there was a consensus that there was an effect.

With the doubt going on it seems that more thorough testing is required for some people to believe. It doesn't make much sense to me to do any more testing on the goblin drink unless it brings us closer to determining how to get Goblin Wolfman to pop. That was why I bothered to test at all.

Right now I can't test anyway since I'm not able to login. My computer is packed in a box in storage.

I would argue that the accuracy is essential if you're attempting to figure out crafting ingredients based on overall effect. Your tests may have found some sort of effect. Assuming for the moment that your results weren't affected by any job trait, your results are nevertheless unhelpful toward selecting ingredients. If anything, Goblin Drink seems to augment the effect of MP regenerating job traits. AFAIK, there is no food item or medicine in this game that augments Auto-Refresh or Clear Mind, so we'd be SOL theorizing what could possibly be used to craft such a drink.

Even if there were an actual, discrete +hMP effect, knowing how much the effect could be very important to identifying ingredients. If it's a yet-to-be-seen +hMP% effect, I would again assert that we'd be SOL.

Therefore, I think the accuracy of the test is absolutely critical to your results, and overlooking that is a bit shortsighted.

It was mere speculation. It doesn't matter how much the effect is, so long it is shown that there is an effect. If the effect is merely +1hmp, or perhaps even +0.5 hmp it doesn't matter. Anything that provides +mp, +hmp, +int, or adds regen effect is traditionally sugar and/or fruit related (mushrooms have some of these effects) although there are exceptions to this. After knowing that the field to check is narrower.

If there is no effect, or no knowable effect, we are indeed SOL in that regard.

Whether or not the test was performed correctly, there did appear to be a difference in MP gained over the test period.

He'll have to repeat the test with a non-auto refresh, non-clear mind job, but for now, his "results" do show that over the same exact period of time and number of ticks, he regained more MP with the drink than without, and by more than a couple MP due to whether auto-refresh kicked in before or after he stopped the timer.

The fact that he did the test twice, once without the drink and once with, is a step in the right direction.

I understand your motivations and agree with you in principle, but my (now long-winded) point is that slightly tweaking your tests to produce more accurate results could narrow the pool of potential ingredients even further than all sweets and mushrooms such that testing recipes is much less onerous, or, as the case appears to be here, give us other leads based on what the drink actually does.

Actually I meant twice in that I tested without and with, two times.

It is a simple enough thing to do. The results were interesting enough to warrant checking them again under stricter terms.

Wait? We're still arguing over the hMP of this? I showed tests. I didn't have clear mind or auto refresh or even refresh. Just the goblin drink. It was quite clear that it gave no hMP. Go back a few pages. Find my goof where I mistakenly said it did give hMP then realized I forgot to test how much regular hMP was to compare against. There are 7 screenshots, starting from the beginning of using the drink until my MP was full.. It followed the regular hMP formula...
