This website suggests that the Goblin Drink is a 3hour drink. Not sure if that means anything when crafting. Maybe follows the patterns of other 3hours foods or drinks?

    http://vooo.tk/item_list.php?kind=50

I can't translate anything either on the website.

Sorry if this was already know or this website has already been posted. Haha!

No recipe was invalidated, however new versions of the recipes were added.

Thus, it's possible that *a* recipe exists using movalpolos water and other CoP ingredients. However, if a recipe ever existed that used pre-COP ingredients only, it should still exist.

    Effect…Synthetic [reshipi] 8: 232,006 /01/22 effective obscurity

My guess is that "as of 1/22/06, we have no idea" = effective obscurity

Also this is just a entry sent in by someone, not like an official statement by the website

Hmm... could it be possible that the Goblin Drink was an event only item back when this game was only in Japan?

That's one patch after I guess.

I tried a bunch of tea recipe with mushroom and all and none worked (obviously) I could go try more stuff, but I know it wont work anyway, so why bother.

Right now, I'm heading back to movalpolis with a few more trade that arent in the main list (but were most likely tried already)

Mugmug said Genmu of Seraph spotted one on a mithra in Seraph server. I have my doubts on this one....someone on seraph confirm please.
Sorry for bringing this up again, but I didn't really see any other posts that dealt with this post. I'll try to contact Genmu to try to confirm if someone on Seraph actually has the gorget...

Trade it 200 gil to buy himself some orange juice.

As for possible Goblin Drink ingredients, here's a list of what is in the vegetable gruel/soup that I posted earlier. I've added notes to separate what seems to be the "meat" of the recipe, and what seems to just be general ingredients of soups/gruels.

    Vegetable Soup
    Frost Turnip (veggie)
    San d'Orian Carrot (veggie)
    Eggplant (veggie)
    La Theine Cabbage (veggie)
    Wild Onion (veggie)
    Bay Leaves (generic soup flavoring)
    Rock Salt (generic soup ingredient)
    Distilled Water (generic soup ingredient)

    Vegetable Gruel
    Frost Turnip (veggie)
    Batagreens (veggie)
    Rarab Tail (veggie)
    Chamomile (generic gruel flavoring)
    Tarutaru Rice (generic gruel ingredient)
    Distilled Water (generic gruel ingredient)

So, if we eliminate generic ingredients that are only there to make it a soup/gruel, we are left with this list of veggies that at least must taste somewhat reasonable together:

    Frost Turnip
    San d'Orian Carrot
    Eggplant
    La Theine Cabbage
    Wild Onion
    Batagreens
    Beaugreens
    Rarab Tail

Of those, it might be worth noting that you cannot buy Batagreens from the AH (only from the guild or quest NPC), so it is likely a vegetable that hasn't been tried much.

Also possibly worth noting, it appears both the soup and gruel (and many other recipes) have 3 generic ingredients that make it what it is (soup, gruel, etc.). The soup in particular has 5 vegetables + 3 generic ingredients that make it a soup. So perhaps there are 3 ingredients that make the Goblin Drink a... drink. Just like tea has water, flavoring/spice, and tea leaves. The goblin drink would likely have a water, a flavoring/spice, and some other third ingredient.

So it might be worth trying to piece it together by component. Here is a list of ingredients that might apply to a vegetable drink, and is limited to only those ingredients already found in other drinks (other than the veggies):

    Vegetables (pick 5)
    Frost Turnip
    San d'Orian Carrot
    Eggplant
    La Theine Cabbage
    Wild Onion
    Batagreens
    Beaugreens
    Rarab Tail

    Flavoring (pick 1)
Chamomile (found in tea and medicines)
Sage (found in tea, soup, and medicines)

    Extras (pick 2)
    Rock Salt
    Distilled Water
    Honey
    Maple Sugar

    Other items to try
    Movalpolos Water
Crying Mustard (goblin spice found in stew, though not typically in drinks)
Bay Leaves (found in soup, though not typically in drinks)
Black Pepper (found in soup/stew, though not typically in drinks)
Ginger (found in soup, though not typically in drinks)
Wild Melon (not a veggie, but somepage has no use listed for it and its an unstackable 5 min food so its obviously not for raw eating)
    Fingernail Sack
    Goblin Cup

We could probably narrow the list down a little with some educated guesses. e.g. for a strained vegetable drink, your 2 extras will likely be distilled/movalpolos water + rock salt, though I listed honey and maple sugar because they do appear in other drinks. The flavoring might be the item you want to replace with something from the "Other items" list. Chances are, instead of chamomile or sage, that slot is most likely to be taken by a fingernail sack or something if any slot is.

Excellent post Khasmin. Only trouble is, with it being a goblin recipe, it could have a completely random ingredient in it.

Some other thoughts I was having regarding the .DATs. I posted this question on another thread, but I figured I'd repost it here. I don't have access to the information myself, or I would dig into it myself. Anyway, here it is:

I don't have access to DATs myself, I'm on a PS2. Are there any other items in close proximity to the Goblin Drink, that may have been added with it, that could be possible ingredients? Since it's been all but confrimed that the drink was added as much as a year and a half prior to when everyone thought it was added, maybe an ingredient/ingredients were added at the same time.

Chances are, any random goblin ingredients will take the place of the flavoring/spice slot. So instead of chamomile or sage, it'll be a jellyfish or a fingernail sack. The water and salt will likely still be in there, as will probably 5 vegetables.

By the way, what are the crystal descriptions again?

    Fire - Heat
    Water - Dissolve?
    Wind - Carve
    Earth - Bind
    Thunder -
    Ice -
    Light - Mend?
    Dark - Decompose

I forget some of them. We still need to figure out which crystal would be most likely to make this drink.

No relation to the goblin drink, but all the aquarium stuff was added in that patch. And those definately have a lot of water in them...worth a shot at least
