People have drank it in the hostel and said "it gave me a little HP and MP"
Is this instant HP and MP, or slight regen over time ? I didn't notice anything when I used it, but I was at full hp/mp at the time, and was focused on stat changes, maybe I'll go in again and see what it does.

It adds a food status effect rather then a refresh/regen which strikes me as a bit odd if its instantanious restore hp/mp but has a long lasting status effect (could be the food equivelent of medicated status tho).

I know this has been discussed before, but I found it coincidental that moval. water + rock salt = baking soda. But as discussed, it was added in December 2005, and is therefore a very unlikely component of this puzzle.

Regarding a crystal, who knows. Safest bet would be to try any test synth with each crystal. I've been leaning more towards a fire crystal though in the tests I've been doing. but also using both water and dark.

Are recipes for like the eye clusters and such given at the guild? I never saw one but was that just something someone (even though it's kinda obvious) put together and found?

Here's a list of things vegetable seeds can make, I added most of them except the flowers though.

EDIT: And from the list there's only 7 vegetables that you can grow it seems.

    Popoto
    Frost Turnip
    La Theine Cabbage
    Gysahl Greens
    Wild Onion
    Ginger
    Millioncorn

    Flaxseed Oil
    Sieglinde Putty
    River Foliage
    Sea Foliage
    Desalinator
    Salinator
    Goldfish Set
    Freshwater Set
    Saltwater Set
    Goldfish Bowl
    Freshwater Aquarium
    Saltwater Aquarium
    Moblin Putty

All added in that same update that either has to deal with water or somehow Newton.

One that popped out to me was Sieglinde Putty. http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/7138

"Description: An adhesive putty invented by the alchemist Sieglinde. It is often used to fill cracks and prevent leaking of water and air."

I kinda doubt fire myself because its not a tea, and it doesn't sound like a hot drink. Hot strained veggie drink? eww... I'm thinking more along the lines of V-8. So probably a water or dark crystal synth is more likely.

I dunno if water would be an item or not for the recipie, since most drinks from what I notice don't require one.

Khamsin very nice post, and I was thinking that maybe we were adding too many random items into the recipe. So last night I tried my luck at synthing and tried 6 vegetables at a time with the following vegetables: blue peas, rarab tails, eggplant, wild onion, sandy carrot, popoto and a puffball. Other 3 ingredients I put in were fingernail sack, distilled water (those 2 100% of the time) and windy tea leaves. Nothing seemed to work. Oh and I used dark crystal and water, but Khamsin's idea of the drink recipe sounds very likely.

In order to get a fingernail sack I gotta follow a goblin digger around right?

I may try to experiment with this later tonight.

I'm new to these forums, but I read through all 58 pages of the locked Parade Gorget thread and the links in it. I have a theory on goblin drink that may be stupid, but it's worth a shot. I haven't tried it and I have no idea if it will work.

Someone in the 58 page thread mentioned that a whole group of force pop NMs were added at the same time as Goblin Wolfman was added. Each of those NMs required a food to pop: San d'Orian carrot, pamama (wild or normal), slice of carp, honey, distilled water, and one each danceshroom, sleepshroom, and woozyshroom. Has anyone tried synthing all of those together? Those would fulfill the '8 items requirement' of goblin foods and there are vegetables included, along with random stuff like fish and honey to make the whole thing gross enough for a goblin. I'd assume either a dark, fire, or water crystal would be needed.

That's my two cents in the whole mess. I'm in awe of all the work that's been done so far to crack this thing and I really hope we can find the answer.

I think it would be safest to not rule any crystal out. Speaking of, what if in that original recipe that everyone keeps going back to, the dark crystal were an ingredient, not the crystal used for the synth? It would become the 8th ingredient, since that recipe only has 7 items. Not likely, but who knows. I'll play around with it tonight.

Yes. I got one recently in Batallia Downs. I'm trying to find a Goblin Cup yet, and hopefully another Fingernail Sack for Narse to experiment with.

Gonna try some more stuff when I get back from vacation.

It's not just lower lever players. I was on follow behind a Goblin Digger. A 75 WAR runs up to me and just watches for a minute or two. He asked what I was doing, so I told him. A few minutes later he vokes the Digger, and runs off with it. <3 nice people.

It seems to be about 15 minutes or so between digs, unfortunately.
