Unicorn boot/head has similar latent. They gave me an headache last years when they were parsing at 65% base hp one day, and 75% base hp another. (I still have the picture somewhere showing the trigger change). I always wondered if it could be region or Moon, but I stopped the testing because they would be equipped all the time anyway.

Is it possible for someone to look at the latent in relation to the time of the day. It's not impossible latent varies between 2 value depending of the clock (stronger effect at night, weaker during the day.

I actually tried that. While performing my earlier tests, I tried allowed the Refresh effect to take place during the day and at night while at 84% HP and then at 85% HP. It didn't change whether or not the Latent was active.

DeadLegend...WTF...how in the Holy Hell did you manage to think of that gear setup to pull that off?

Anyways, the very basic pattern I'm seeing here is that the higher your HP goes, the longer the window will be. So, for me, who has 1200HP~ at the most, I get Refresh at 85%. For DeadLegend, who gets up there in the 1600~ HP range, the Refresh stays on until it goes down to the 75% area. This may just be something SE put into effect to make it so that PLDs have an easier time keeping the Refresh active, since they take a lot more DMG during a fight than DRK, generally speaking.

According to my sources, parade gorget only calculates off of base HP + body/head/hands/legs/boots HP sources. Not rings or other accessories. And is 85%.

Does this match up with the numbers we have so far?

Well, that does match up for me. All of my HP additions, excluding food, came from one of those five armor slots, and all of my trials landed on 85%. That sounds like a valid theory. We'll have to have DeadLegend test it though, since she seems to be the only one with the right resources.

Just looking up at the most recent test a few posts back, and not the more comprehensive one a few pages ago, that would not be sufficient to explain the results of test #3. However, if we were to add main weapon and ranged, then that would be consistent.

DeadLegend gets +235 HP from head, body, hands, legs, feet, tutelary, and rosenbogen. 1266+235 = 1501. 1501 * .85 = 1275.9. I'll go back now and look at the earlier tests.

Suiram pretty much just summed it up. Glad I noticed before I wasted time finishing my post. Although we'd have to review all of the numbers again, and possibly perform a couple more tests to solidify that theory, I think it's the most likely candidate for an answer at the moment.

Yeah, that's gotta be it. it's 85% or higher of base HP + Main, Ranged, Head, Body, Hands, Legs, and Feet. Someone ought to test if it counts from sub-weapon/shield and ammo slot, too.

From this post, I redid the calculations based only on those slots.

So sounds like the more +HP gear you can squeeze into earrings, rings, neck, back, waist, shield/sub, and ammo slots, the bigger window you have for the latent to be active.

I can't possibly pass up this opportunity...

Despite that, at the time of the statement, I was lacking the evidence to indefinitely prove it correct...

    85% -- I called it.

yeah i can sort of confirm this too

on my 52 DRK, base HP = 910

refresh disabled once HP reached 773 (84.9%) (turns on at 774 (85%) with /whm auto-regen)

equipped pigeon earring x2, and gold moogle belt (+69 HP)

refresh disabled at 773, turned on at 774. so yeah, waist + earring gear does not change the amount of HP at which the refresh is activated/disabled

So it's "visible gear" - there is some other items that has a latent activated like that, I forget what, but I think it counted Sub weapon and would use the ammo slot.

I figured I'd add my numbers. I didn't do any tests with food (since I hadn't checked this thread for ideas).

    BaseHP = 1488 (4 hp merit)
    HP+ gear = 295
    No food

    1299/1488 = 87.3%, No Refresh
    1299/1783 = 72.9%, No Refresh

    1301/1488 = 87.4%, Refresh on
    1301/1783 = 73.0%, Refresh on

For those that care, this was run at both 60% Waning and 43% Waning

One thing that might skew some of these results are HP merits. For whoever is keeping score, it might be important to note how many HP merits the character had. I'm going to guess that HP merits add to the "baseHP" value, but that doesn't mean its necessarily true.

I didn't always have river gauntlets equipped. At times I had koenig handschuhs due to needing different gear combos to reach the HP+ divisortheory asked for.

    BUT!!!
The "visible gear" theory makes sense since it's a...

    PARADE Gorget.

    You're showing off your crap!
anyway I'll put on numbers for visible and non visible gear, and I'll duplicate old tests with new combos.

If you look at the post, you were very specific about what you were wearing and what you removed/added for subsequent tests. Are you certain you aren't thinking of a different test you did?

    Test 1: HP+150. Max 1416
Wearing nothing but: Aegishjalmr, Koenig Cuirass, Koenig Handschuhs, Koenig Schuhs, Crimson Cuisses.

    Refresh dies at: 1202/1416 84%

Add Bloodbead Ring and Bomb queen ring, Max HP1266+275, 150 visible.
    Refresh dies at: 1202/1541 78%

Add pigeon earring and jungle sash HP1266+340. 150 visible.
    Refresh dies at: 1202/1606 74%

Finally add Cassie Earring. HP1266+390. 150 visible.
    Refresh dies at: 1202/1656 72%

    Add Tutelary. HP1266+420. 180 visible. 30weapon 150 armor.
    Refresh dies at: 1228/1686 72%

    Remove invisible gear, HP1266+180 visible
    Refresh dies at 1228/1446 84%

    Add Rosenbogen HP1266+190. 180 visible, 10 ranged
    Refresh dies at 1236/1456 84%

Remove Rosenbogen, add Happy egg, HP1266+194, 180 visible, 14 ammo
    Refresh dies at: 1228/1460 84%

Wearing HP1266+205. 180 from weapon, visible armor, +25 from shield.
    Refresh dies at: 1249/1471 84%

    Remove Aegishjalmr. HP1266+180. Visible gear+sword+shield.
    Refresh dies at: 1228/1446 84%

It's ovar. Aurik's sources win the fucking thread. Refresh dies out below 85% of VISIBLE GEAR which includes: Weapon, Shield, Head, Body, Hands, Legs, Feet, and Ranged.

Ammo, rings, belts, capes, earrings, and food do not change the outcome.
(actually I can't be 100% positive about cape because like I mentioned 100 times I sold my gigant d: but assume it can't change the outcome because it is neither visible nor a weapon.)

So technically, the lower your visible HP+ is and the higher your invisible HP+ is, the larger the refresh range will be.

Also, cassie earring being a "convert" doesn't screw anything up.

Also, sorry I didn't separate these tests very far or label them separately, I was trying to do them fast and managed to finish them all with no poison to spare. lol

Its not that bad, two nights with 4-5 people from LS doing other stuff and coming back to keyboard every 15 min, not exactly waisted time.

Not to mention giving up on something just due to some bad luck isnt good either. But it is getting a bit funny now. I went afk for about 30 min and the guy camping the spot against me got claim and drop orz.

Not any any big rush, the item isnt monumental, but its easy to camp, not very expensive, and i would like to finally get it sometime this week....
