    Postal Service

Me and my friend John were thinking today... What if you were to take a piece of mail and put the address you want it to be sent to in the return address area. Then put that mail in a public mail box without any postage. In theory, shouldn't you be able to send that piece of mail to the place you wanted it to go without paying for it?

they probably check the origin of where the mail was dropped off.

If the "original sender" is east end of the city, and the recipent is at the west end...but the letter was dropped off at the west end of the city, they'll probably catch on.

I'm sure it's illegal. Are you really that short on cash you can't afford a 38 cent stamp?

I think the way your theory works in the UK is that the recipient has to pay the postage when it arrives to be able to recieve it.

This is an old trick and will work as long as its in your city. Anything beyond that and you run the risk of being caught and its some kinda gay Federal crime bullshit.

    Just fuckin do it.

    Hahahahahaha

I thought of the exact same thing a while back, and the only person around to suggest it to was my mom, and she couldn't grasp the concept :/

That seems logical, I'm sure they'd do that for US too, but like if you just used it with different addresses they'd never be able to track it back to one person, especially since they're all going to different people heh. Idk, I'm going to mass mail a few to friends and test my theory.

That is correct, I the postman knock on your door and ask you for the postage cost. If you dont pay I dont give you your letter. I also used to collect customs charges from people too. People get very annoyed when you knock on their door with a parcel from the US that customs just had to open and check. I think they charge a fee just to open your package and look at its content.
