If SE did that, it would be a step in the right direction. 1m would be kinda' insane, more like say.. 250k-500k Ap would be more attainable, and still take a long time. The highlevel community is so huge now, that alternative means of attaining these items should be considered. Players would enjoy FFXI so much more. Infact, most of the new content should be attained in a similar fashion to how limbus, and assault work. Camping Nm's has to go, cuz where something can be camped, RMT will arrive.

This'll really take away the power rmt currently have over sky in terms of sky pop sets. SE has really created a way out in terms of instanced battles all they need to do now is add the right prizes to it and people may shift away from bd,da,vos a bit.

At the moment, you can only go into assault with 3 people minimum and the maximum for any particular area is 4000 meaning you get 1333 (or 1466 w/ armband) each time. So, even doing assault once a day every time it's up, these 1M assault point tags that are thrown out means that it would take over 700 days of doing a particular assault just for that item.
I would think it's more reasonable to make the points in such a way that a person could get 2 of the highly prized items in a year of doing assault.
The assault table isn't SE's style. They'd sooner implement stuff with -1 on each of the statistics fo each abjuration gear. +15 accuracy? +14 accuracy on this new piece from assault! +5 Magic Atk Bonus? +4 and +10mp!
That's more SE's style and that's even giving them credit that they wouldn't just make it 50% as good. A Defending Ring with -8% would still be pretty hawt though.

Assault could be a perfect way to untie some stresspoints in the game. I think SE has no idea how much can be fixed in this game by letting go of their "some gear is meant to be rare" mentality. And focus on shifting itemization from the current system to the instanced battle system that is Assault.
Sure gear can be made hard to come by but in the end everyone wants to have a slight chance of obtaining it. In all fairness it shouldn't be about luck/botting skill it should be about playing skill that gets you the gear. Instanced battles make it so goddamn easy to fulfill this plus no rmt can interfere.
Who here would really mind that randomPLD McRandomy gets a koenig/kaiser cuirass after 6 months of assaulting and saving up AP?

6th desk for assault:
3 missions 6man minimum. 75 minimum.
1.Infiltrate beastmen area and exterminate behemoth,faf and aspid(low-difficulty)(kings)
-rewardtable unlocked when complete rewards are kings loot table.
2.Retrieve prisoners from <insert stronghold> dynamis like mobs ending with a boss fight. Mobs drop dyna currency at random(dynamis)
-rewardtable unlocked when complete rewards are dynamis currency.
3.Breakthrough defence of <insert stronghold> and restock current front line fighters(sky)
-rewardtable unlocked when complete rewards are sky items required for popsets and sky gods abjurations.
